I just had a flat tire fixed within 10 minutes and no notice to Joe. He pulled a big nail out of my tire and plugged it. I am amazed by his and his staffs integrity, honestly and the fact that they do not hesitate to go the extra mile . This isnt the first time they have helped me on little or no notice for extremely fair prices. It is a comfort to know that I wont be stranded when they are around. Thank you to Joe and his staff. I have been going to Park Street Automotive for a little over a year. The location of the shop is why I initially chose to go there, but their impeccable service has kept me coming back. I have a car for work that regularly needs service and have now started bringing my personal car there as well. Joe provides honest and direct feedback about issues you have and doesn’t try to take advantage of the “less informed” customers like myself. Park Street Auto is just a wonderful place to bring your car. Joe and his staff are honest and straight forward. They will try to fix the issue in my car and then replace the part if necessary. My car is a 2002 Honda Accord I brought it in excellent condition and Park Street Auto are the ones who are maintaining that excellence, in a reasonable way. Park Street Auto is a pleasure to work with. I have brought the car to them several times and they always go the extra mile. If they cant find the source of an issue they never charge you time to troubleshoot. Will be back and highly recommend. Just had my first oil change at Park Street Auto and it was a great experience. Easy drop off/pick up, done ina timely fashion and the location is like an old school neighborhood garage which I loved. Moved to Montclair 6 mos ago and found great reviews on Montclair FB page and they were all true! Joe was very friendly.

Just did a oil change there. Job finely and efficiently done. The waiting environment is not too good though, because you have to sit in the small office--you could have a good conversation with Joe (the manager) but otherwise sitting there may make you feel a bit awkward. If you have to wait considerable long going to the nearby town center might be a good idea (Im not sure though as I dont live in Montclair).

We found Park Street Automotive on Angies List some years ago, and we had been going there for anything beyond oil changes. Ever since our first visit we had found the owner Joe to be honest and capable. Well use our 7/25/2014 visit as an example. We ran a piece of metal on the highway, which bounced up and ripped open the exhaust pipe between the catalytic converter and the muffler. Joe called his supplier to get a price quote on the OEM replacement, and found that the manufacturer only provide the entire assembly from catalytic converter all the way to the end of the exhaust tip, something that costs over $1000. Joe knew that all we really needed was the pipe, so he spent the time to find an alternative, ultimately finding a third-party-manufacturer pipe that was made to fit our make and model so that we didnt have to purchase parts that we didnt need to replace. When all was said and done, even with the additional labor time needed, it came out to be about $600. This was not the only time Joe was willing to spend the extra time to do the job right, even when he could just as easily find the quickest fix (sometimes at a higher cost to the customer) so he can service more customers and make more money.We moved to central NJ last year, putting an hour or two of travel time between our new home and Park Street Automotive. The greater distance had not yet deterred us from driving all the way to Montclair when we need car repairs!

A good partner, and a good, reasonably priced auto mechanic = a good life. Park Street Auto is half the equation.
