Have always loved visiting Kung Fu Tea! Two summers ago I reached out about possibly getting them to cater for our graduation party. They helped me pick out two different drinks to set up a bubble tea bar in our backyard. Everyone loved having bubble tea at the party and Kung Fu was amazing to work with!Last summer our family requested bubble tea when we went to visit them, placed another catering order, and traveled to Cape Cod with Kung Fu Tea in the back seat.Last week I reached out to the amazing owners at Kung Fu to place a last minute catering order and again they provided amazing service and even threw in some extra strawberry popping bubble.Thank you for always providing amazing bubble tea and service for all our parties! Grabbed a Matcha Milk Cap 🧋 with classic bobas. Staff was super nice and welcoming. The Matcha 🍵 was great and the Milk Cap was really rich and creamy which I really enjoyed. Bobas were a little on the chewy side, so if you don’t like that, you may want to grab an option with out them

I had the coconut milk tea and it was good. The Boba was warm, the drink was creamy, and sweet. Theyre menu also has a variety of drinks. Great place for bubble tea.

Great spot. I ordered their Oolong spice milk tea so much that they ran out! They also got my order wrong once, and not only did they refunded me the drinks, but also made new drinks and gave me a token for free drinks (which Ive lost LOL).

Didn’t know what to expect. But this is so much better than the one in Willowbrook. They have so many options and each drink is super customizable to your liking. They are super generous with the bubbles and jellys. The bubble tea variations have something for every taste bud you have. From teas, punches, milky, slush it’s pretty insane. Their pickup game was on point too. Thanks for some awesome drinks.

TLDR; poor customer service & inefficient protocols for online order complications!I placed an online order for 4 drinks and showed up at the expected time. I ended up waiting 45 minutes after the expected wait time for my drinks.Long story short, my online order didn’t print out on their end, and the workers kept insisting that it was my fault, placing the order at the wrong location (which I did NOT). I showed them my email receipt 4 different times to 3 diff workers trying to find my order in the system, to which they finally found it 15 mins later.The main reason why I’m disappointed is because of the way they handled the situation. There was no sense of urgency— they had no problem with letting me wait 45 mins for my online order to be complete whereas people who ordered in-person were getting their drinks before me.And to top it off, once I finally received my order, the worker did not mention a word about keeping me so long to complete my order. No thanking me for my patience or anything. They seemed bothered by me while I was just trying to get my order (that I already paid for) fulfilled. Very disappointing.

This place is awesome. I havent had a bubble tea drink in while so I was unsure what to get. The staff was really friendly and super patient with me (sorry i took so long to decide). They gave me a bunch of options and walked me through the ordering process (so many options). Any way long story short, awesome staff and even better drinks. I will be coming back!

I had a problem with my order days ago and uber didnt solve my situation! I spoke to the store staff and they were wonderful to me 💓 they decided to reorder for me because it had come wrong but they sent me the order again with great affection 💓 thanks to cindy the answerable for the store and her team ! Boba is great but place is always crowded with people waiting for orders. If you order ahead the pick up time provided by the app is usually incorrect, give them an extra 5 - 10 mins if you dont want to wait around.

After my last bubble tea spot closed down, I was hoping another one would take its place. I got the lychee black tea with Mango jelly, and absolutely loved it. Kung-fu Tea actually is way better than the other bubble tea that used to be in the area, and the staff are so patient explaining it to newbies. Definitely want to go back and try more flavors.

They got my tea order wrong and refused to start preparing a new order until they got the old tea back (i called a few blocks up so i could have them prepare a new tea and minimize my time in the store). Asking for the old tea seemed unhygienic and i sensed a bit of “I don’t believe you” attitude asking how much of the tea had I drank. It felt unnecessarily difficult after I had already had to drive back since they got the order wrong.

Terrible service. This is the 2nd time I’ve ordered through the app, and had to wait an additional 25 min after the time it was supposed to be ready. I asked twice for an update, and the girl first said “it’s next in line”. I saw 2 separate walk ins order & walk out with their drinks before me. 2nd time I asked “it’s next in line”. They hadn’t even started making my 2nd order! The whole ordeal took 45 min (from the app order). Kids are running this place, bad management. The drinks aren’t that good enough to wait that long for. Go to Gong Cha down the street when they’re open.

My kids and I tried this place this weekend and found the bubble teas pretty good. Positives; I thoroughly enjoyed the tea flavor - I ordered Oolong tea with honey. I could taste the tea which was a concern with gimmicky drinks. The portion sizes are good relative to price - I ordered a small and felt it was enough. The service was also pleasant. Negatives; I found there were too many boba bubbles in a such a small drink. Meaning, I could not take a sip of a very good tea without a boba bubble flowing into my straw. Some sips with a boba would have been perfect. My kids felt the same. Long wait - definitely order ahead of time, it took at least a solid 15 minutes for an order of 3 drinks. All in all, its a great alternative to Starbucks when on a nice stroll through Montclair; will definitely come back for more and try different flavors!

Went there and there wasn’t any “bubbles” (it’s really tapioca). I’d say go to gongcha down the street. It’s much better quality.

There is a worker there named SAM who is nothing short of AMAZING !!! With my obsession with bubble tea, we are basically at a first name basis . He is always so kind and handles that place like a BOSS. We need more people like him ! Also every drink I’ve ever had there is Bomb. My current favorite is the OREOwow :)

Gong Cha had a 20 minute wait so we drove up the road to this place, go inside get on line our turn comes we wait and wait,after about 15 minutes the kid at the counter says there will be a 25 minute wait if we wanted anything, I asked him if he was joking and why he didnt inform us sooner,he didnt even respond!I walk out in disbelief only to find out you cant park in front of the store and I was getting a ticket.Absolutely inexcusable ($40 for the parking violation by the way,thanks Kung FU.

So me and my father wait outside looking at the board with all the flavors and stuff. First off what’s wrong with this place is they don’t really take precautions there’s only supposed to be “5” people there were at least 10 inside, and the place looked dirty. That’s only one complaint second complaint is when we walk in there’s a five minute wait. Third complaint is we didn’t even get to order anything because you couldn’t order anything for 25 minutes so we just left. People looked like they didn’t even know what they were doing. I was expecting some boba today but I guess not. I wouldn’t recommend going here just go to Gong Cha they’re better.

I really enjoy the purple stuff, with the tapioca balls in my bubble tea, just so good. Sometimes, waiting for a line can be a pain, but patience for great bubble tea is all you need.

The place does not explain clearly which dishes do not have milk and when asked the answer was very confused and not clear. Eventually i got something similar to slushy when I really wanted bubble tea

Finally, a proper bubble tea place in Montclair! My usual go to is Kungfu Milk Tea (cold or even hot is good), bubbles and no sugar. Owner is friendly. Good service.

Wonderful selections of drinks for all tastes. I love the milk bubble tea, but would like more selections for milk tea, such as mango or strawberry.

Edit: They are in the dog house, they delivered an order without the bubbles in the bubble tea.My partner loves it. She orders the rosehip lemonade bubble tea a few times a week. The green tea has a fresh brewed taste and their honey tea is fragrant with out being too sweet AND always order light sugar or it might be too sweet (and that comes from someone who loves sugar).

I crave Kung Fu’s bubble tea nearly every day. I’ve been to this location upwards of 10 times, and I’ve never once had a bad experience. There are vegan options, lactose free options, and you can even adjust the level of sweetness in your drink. Thank you to all of the kind employees for their work!

Expect to wait a while. The flavor of the tea itself is strong and can overpower whatever other flavor you choose (coconut, almond, etc.). Babo Tea House is better.

Worst Kung Fu Tea location I have ever visited (I have visited quite a few in different states). Order was wrong after a significantly long wait - repeated the correct order. Was handed what I assumed was the right order only to find the specifications of each drink was disregarded. I would not find the need to type this if it was only a misunderstanding of my initial order - but to mess it up the second time exemplifies a gross lack of care for their customers. (P.S. I even disregarded the fact that during my initial ordering, the girl at the counter was more concerned with how another patron was “incorrectly” enjoying their bubble tea). I will not be visiting here again and I suggest you do the same. Trust me and visit any other Kung Fu Tea location besides this one.

Worst management and experience as a customer.The cashier (short white man) was SO rude to customers that had been waiting for half an hour, they don’t have Apple Pay, and the staff seems overworked. I used to go there every weekend but stopped during the pandemic because their service quality has gone down. Stopped by two weeks ago and it was in the worst condition I’d ever seen— boxes strewn everywhere, a thin plastic covering the cashier, and it was really humid in the store.The drinks themselves are 50/50— as in, a 50/50 chance of getting either a good drink or a bad one. They’re too sweet and too americanized for a bubble tea joint. The milk drinks sometimes come out “powdery”, which is odd because they use Lactaid milk. Overall, they don’t taste fresh.My advice? Walk down a block to Gong Cha and get yourself a better drink with better service. And a much shorter wait time.

Very disappointed with this location. I have ordered from the Kung Fu app about two times about 20 minutes before arriving to pick up my drinks so far both time I arrive the app tells me a certain time but when I go in the store my drinks have not even gotten started the cups will be sitting there in the counter and they tell me sorry about that.. my question is Ok what’s the point of ordering ahead ?? ... so now another time I tried calling the store instead to order ahead .. I ordered with enough time (20 minutes ) I arrived and my drinks weren’t still ready they told me another 10 minutes.. also trying to order on the phone was hard I had to keep repeating myself because of the noise level in the background of the store. Also please let’s put some Social distancing in the store it’s already a small location for there to be about 10-12 people waiting by the wall ... . this location was my favorite since it’s closest to home but honestly I rather drive to the Hoboken ..

This place is great! The teas are excellent and the staff is very nice. I always get the winter melon green milk tea, with bubbles. They normally run out of them late in the evening and on weekends when it is super busy. It is quiet during the week. Only hard thing is to find parking since its on a Main Avenue and the town/resturants always have valet parking and so forth on weekends.

My husband and i went on a bubble tea date. We played a couple of hands of uno, the tea was delicious and the dun mi was awesome. It was fun and we will be coming back.

If it wasnt for the customer service i would give this place one stars, but it was my first time going to this bubble tea spot I only noticed it after seeing a few people walking with bubble tea and decided to go in I saw a cute Naruto drawing on the chalk board which drew me in even more.But coming in everything is a little confusing on like where to order or wait in line no one greets you when you come in I had to ask people in line after ordering I thought this would be a quick in and out situation but all I ordered was a small Thai milk tea that took at least 30 minutes to make while people with orders were coming in left and right and they were forgetting about the people In line. it was absolutely crazy this was my first and last time coming back here and not only that the boba tea wasnt ever that good the boba was mushy and the tea lacked flavor they rushed my drink and just gave it to me out of the 30 minutes I waited for it.please do better you guys your inna great location they bring customers in but at the same time you could lose us all too.

As a self described bubble tea lover ive been to many bubble tea shops. Recently I was visiting friends in Montclair when I saw there was a KFT shop in the neighborhood. The staff was super friendly and helpful. I finally decided on getting two drinks because I couldnt make up my mind. I got a lychee punch and a KF Milk Tea with bubbles. I know this is a franchise but OMG these were the best drinks ive ever had from not only any KFT shop but from any Bubble Tea Shop EVER! These people went above and beyond. Great service, really cool looking spot, and Amazing drinks! Needless to say I will be visiting frequently.

I discovered this place not too long ago and I love it! I go quite often. They have many options, but my personal favorite is the taro milk tea with boba. You should try it!

I try to call them to let them know I want to pickup my order and nobody pickup and I calm them two time. On the website it say it close at 9 and I call at 8 and nobody pickup.

I was craving bubble tea and had no idea this place was in my neighborhood. Its a cute little space with a very energetic vibe, and their menu is a little overwhelming - in a good way. I told the woman behind the counter that I wasnt sure what to get, and she helped me decide. I tried their seasonal pumpkin oolong milk tea and added tapioca. It was hands down the best bubble tea Ive had in a very long time. I even called my mother to rave about the place. I will definitely be going back.

Love bubble tea and so happy Kung Fu came to Montclair. I definitely prefer bubble tea thats made with real ingredients, not powder like Kung Fu uses, but its still delicious.Theyve been working out some kinks since launch but operating pretty well. Only issue is that orders take a while, not as fast as the NYC locations. I assume this will get better with time!

This is my first time trying their Tea. I had the Kung Fu Tea with the Bubbles, and it was delicious. The ladies explained all the varieties of Tea to me and Kung was for me. Must try, its clean, a place to sit, and the ladies are really friendly.

Very disappointing with their service. Normally Id put a 4/5 but recently their tea is tasteless and the waiting time is more than an hour. After waiting for my drinks for over an hour, they come out to tell me they ran out of bubbles and that I should wait longer. Very poor consumer service.

Everytime I come here, I always order the oolong milk tea with bubbles. Its amazing. I love it. I drive here twice a week with a 15 min. distance. Sometimes it taste better when made by a specific employee but other times, its still good

It was my first time going to king fu tea a few days ago. I was absolutely delicious the interior of the store cute a little chic and comfortable. Its fun to watch them make the drinks. Most definitely will be going back.

Small place, street parking (which is hard to find unless you pay $10). Lots of kids that hang out there. I ordered taro. Not sure why my tea was brown and not purple.The bobba was tough and not chewy. For me this is not the place to get bobba tea. Tea kept me awake, too much caffeine I guess.

Kung fu tea is awesome in Monclair nj but they need more help to much for 2 young asain girls working there alone there was a Drunk guy in there day I went 3/18/20 asking people for money and those 2 girls working alone is not safe .....only thing I saw wrong but the drinks r good

Teas are good. Staff doesnt generally know what is cafenated and what isnt and overall look overwhelmed. I guess thats what happens when the only employees are teenagers. Take a page from Starbucks and how efficiently they manage orders.

I always get a large coconut milk tea with extra boba and less ice (thank me later)...I recommend trying the bursting bobas....I added the bursting coffee boba n it came out so good. Also try the passion fruit slush with mango boba💯👌🏽...this location is close to so many restaurants...so many varieties of drinks in here too.
