Great place, fresh food, friendly staff. I can’t get over two employees in the deli that never smile and are not friendly at all. They look miserable have been this way for years. Smiling and looking friendly isGood customer service. If you hate your job find one that you love.

Today Im raving about the seafood department. Variety, outstanding... visual display is beautiful. Cant get any fresher unless you get on a boat and catch it yourself. I see a few negative comments about this store.. go elsewhere .. its clean, charming, has items that arent found elsewhere and is terrific when you need something in a pinch. For the life of myself I cant think of the seafood gentlemans name who should truly be recognized here. Healthy looking, somewhat deep voice, very knowledgeable of his department. Ill edit when I find out 🤔 ITS LARRY!!!! 😂

Great quality selection. The valley road location is really small, better to go up to Bradford store in cedar Grove.

I stop in periodically. They carry a shampoo and conditioner I have difficulty finding elsewhere. Went in to get chopped chicken liver for a friend and another kangaroo reusable tote for me, and found a honey with black truffle that I will try at another time. They always seem to have something special (like the honey) that I look forward to trying.

Small super market but very nice. Whenever Acme or ShopRite doesnt have something usually Kings has it.

This is not a real supermarket in the baking aisle the bags of white flour choose your brand are hidden away on the bottom shelves of about 1/20 of the baking aisle they apparently don’t believe in whole wheat flour because not a single bag or brand was evident I asked the Person working in the aisle and she answered me snotty and referred me to the manager I went to the front of the store and there’s no manager to be found the vegetables are overpriced I am never going back

Great fresh produce. The workers are friendly and helpful. Great customer service.

My go to store. The only thing I struggle here with is finding a nut free cake for my sons friends. I guess we just have to settle with nut free cupcakes when the nearby cake store is closed. Aside from that, I can get my sushi, salad, juice, fruits and veggies from here. Very clean store as well.

Highest quality produce, meats, and fish of area supermarkets. Highest prices, too. Membership discount mitigates some of the high markups on prices. Pricing of identical items lower at nearby supermarkets.

Nice store, but small

Due to the small footprint, this Kings doesnt stock absolutely everything you may need, but it carefully curates and presents what it stocks. No mold and spoilage here. Staff is helpful, and the customers are overwhelmingly patient and polite. We did a crowded Christmas-time shop there yesterday, and I heard more politeness words from the shoppers than I have in any single place in ages.

Fruits and vegetables way overpriced, as are many other items. Peculiar upper-class vibe. But the staff, many of whom have worked there for years, are lovely.

I love Kings. Great place to shop. Lately, the chocolate mousse in the dessert bar has captured my taste buds.

The only place Kings disappoints is in variety of shelf goods. A blend of Whole Foods and and Epicure (Miami). Top quality butcher, deli, produce. Limited but super fresh fish. Been going to Kings for 30 years and they receive top marks for consistent quality and service.

During the pandemic, Kings has resorted to ripping off the customer. organic strawberries turn bad the in 2 next days, Small roast beef $16.00 so tough, could not slice thru tendons, expensive veal cutlets, same thing, chewy, tasteless. Goodbye, Ill go to Wegmans, thank you.KAZ

I dont love the high prices. But the hours, service, selection is all very good. Your choice if it is justified.Store is always clean and they helped me even though it was late.

After my former super marker changed their opening hours to 8am, I needed a new place for my early morning Sunday food shopping. I was delighted to hear that Kings opened at 7am!The staff was welcoming, talkative and knowledgeable! The meats and seafood are very fresh, and veggies look outstanding.My only complaints would be the prices can be a little high, and I would have liked to see more variety!

Been shopping here for over 25 years. Quality selection across all categories. Few bargains to be found. Friendly staff, good customer service desk, and they open at 7 am. Its never a bad experience if youre ok with spending a few dollars more for whatever you need at the moment. Great local grocer.

This is the best supermarket ever. The people that work there are amazing and super friendly. Especially Maria and Mattie who works multiple jobs. They are upper Montclair best and always in a good mood.Always a pleasure to see them.

Like most Kings, this is small and pricey. But very handy and their to go selections are excellent. And Ginny the cashier is a pretty special person -- positive and welcoming.

Prices are definitely higher than the bigger chain super markets, but for what it is, its a very friendly, clean and well presented store.

Basically a big convenience store. Too expensive for a major shopping trip but perfect if you live in the area and need to pick up a couple things you forgot to get at the actual supermarket.

Friendly and awesome staff. I lost my keys on the street in front of their store. Staff made sure I found my keys by leaving note on my car. Saved my day!

The Kings on Valley Road has the best produce in Montclair.

The salad bar is 8.99 a lb its extravagant and not priced fairly when you can purchase a pre prepared large salad for 7.99 but if you make one with less items it come out to 13.00, pretty much a rip off.

Not a big store, and that is a plus for me. Very clean and a nice variety of foods, especially organic. Friendly staff and I look forward to shopping there.

It was great till check out. The cash register wasnt equipped to allow a foodstamp transaction when a person uses a gift card. It took approximately 30 minutes to deal with that. Then after that was found to be the problem I was told by the customer service person that I was out of luck for the gift card that day I would not be able to use it once the Transaction was done etc. The store manager had to intercede for me to receive my credit. Although it was not my fault the customer service made me feel as if it was. Naasira Muhaamid

Standard Kings supermarket. Its clean. The fruits and vegetables are slightly overpriced, but much better quality than some other places. So, I guess it is worth it. Never a long line. I will keep shopping here.

Very racist!! I had a cashier analyze a $5 bill I gave to her like it was fake, and then even more insulting she put my change on the counter instead of in my hand
