I am at Spence probably once a week minimum. I went today to get a new hose, and when I came out, my car wouldn’t start. One of the owners, Al, and Verlin an awesome employee, took over an HOUR getting me back on the road! I will shop here first forever!

Spence Hardware is great. Will be a five star review in the event they rescind their patronizing leave your bag at the counter policy. Come up with a better loss prevention strategy that doesnt pre-incriminate walkers and cyclists please!

I just went here for the first time. Staff were very friendly and helpful. A great collection of hardware stuff. There are some collections of clothes including belt and boots. A free parking is available.Recommended!

I have been a customer for years and the service is always friendly, knowledgeable and abundant, meaning you dont have to hunt them down. Selection is great and I am compelled to write a review because of the consistency over the years. Also, just bought a lawn tractor and weed eater and had a really great experience with that department as well.

I enjoy doing my fixityourself shopping at Spence. The employees are knowledgeable and helpful. I also do a lot of my gift shopping here. They always have unique and a lot of times locally produced items. Great place to shop!

I drove all around town looking for a small plastic pool every where was out but spence. But then it did not fit in my car. A super nice friendly employee offered to drop it off for us. I wish I could remember his name but we are so thankful he did. We needed relief from this hot weather. So thank you for going beyond your job requirements so my kid had a pool.

Staff are helpful. Prices are average. A lot is packed into this store. Generally, Id say its the second-best to MBS but its a nice store and having a hardware store on the east side is very nice.

Spence Hardware - five starsIf youre trying to find a part like a screw or a washer this is the best place to go in town. Theyre super helpful and kind. Their pavers are really affordable as well as high-quality. If Moscow Building Supply doesnt have it spence probably does. The store is well-lit, organized, and the staff is everywhere to help you. They will special order something if they dont have it.

If youre looking for a hardware store that has just about everything you need, look ni further. I prefer coming here instead of MBS for general hardware. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.

I just called them up and asked Chelsea if she would put a 1 1/16 deep socket for a half inch drive at the front counter for my wife to pick up on her way home from a meeting in town. She put Rowe (sp?) on the phone within 10 seconds and he said, No problem. Ill have it sittin here with your name on it when she shows up.Not a complicated request, but a perfect example of the outstanding customer service and willingness to keep, in stock, those items that you dont normally buy unless you are an auto mechanic but which when you need them are important.Spence Hardware has an incredibly talented staff who knows their products and always puts the customer first, and I really appreciate that.

Great customer service! I had a small project that I did not have the tools to complete, the salesman took the items into the shop and finished it while I paid for the items. I would definitely recommend them.

As leaders of a local girl scout troop, my co-leader and I want to shop locally. Spence Hardware is blocks away from our home so when we needed supplies for the girls furniture refurbishment project, my co-leader thought it was a great idea to shop here. Because they were wearing a leather jacket and have facial piercings, the woman at the front counter alerted all employees to their presence, loudly telling them over their radio system to keep an eye on them. Later, while they were trying to decide what paint to purchase for the project, a different employee asked them if they needed help and they declined. He walked up to a group of other employees who proceeded to blatantly watch them. This is only the second time my co-leader has set foot in this store and a similar occurrence happened on their first visit as well. The blatant disrespect of honest customers is unacceptable and is enough to have earned themselves a place on this girl scout leaders Dont Shop list. Tri-State has never behaved this way. I suggest that if you dont wear camo, go elsewhere. You will not be welcomed in this store.

When I moved to Moscow there really is not any good equine feed stores, only Spence to get horse feed and not much of a selection, when I have asked about some products I have used the people there are not very educated about equine things and feed. The prices are very high, compared to what I was use to paying. We needed some horse panels, it was cheaper to go to Lewiston and back to get the panels. And also it took them forever to figure out the right panel, they kept telling me that they did not have any panels only gates when I just come into the store after looking at the panel I wanted the price on. There are very over priced. Well the straw for me to ever shop at Spence again was when we bought a rototiller there yes it was on consignment but the catcher was the guy there told us that he just did a service on the rototiller and that it did not have very many hourss on and that it was almost new. Paid a new rollertiller price for it because we took the word of this service man there and stating that there was nothing wrong it was almost brand new. Well brought it home used it for a small section and than put it in reverse and that was it. The guy at Spence was rude to us when we asked about the rototiller, saying us that there is nothing he can do because it was a consignment. We took his word that it was in good running order and nothing wrong with it and he just got done checking it out. Took it to another shop and the transmission is fried and needs replaced. I don’t believe the guy at Spence was honest and he just wanted to make some money for selling a broken item.i believed he knew it was trashed when he sold it I will not ever shop at Spence hardware again, they shown me Nothing more than dishonesty and lies with extremely high prices.

I raised pigs for the fair a while back and I got feed from them and they had this great offer I got the feed and didnt have to pay them until I had sold my pigs its also a nice friendly atmosphere

If youre looking for anything to deal with cattle or horses, you wont find it here. No vaccines on hand, youre going to have to go to North 40 in Lewiston for any useful products for your livestock.
