I got my first bill from this company. Well let me re-phrase that...I got a notice to pay $102. I have searched everywhere on the site and their app and CANNOT find an actual bill. Nothing to show a breakdown of the fees and charges. Just keeps showing the amount I owe. WHAT??? This is already almost triple what I was paying with my previous water company but then to hide the details is more than a little shady. Smyrna and Rutherford County are happy with letting their residents be railroaded like this? Talk about a monopoly. So sad that we have no options but to be treated in such a way.

Fairly easy to get bills paid without having to deal with with customer service at all.. HOWEVER.. The water smells like we are draining pool water & ammonia into our bath tub within 30 seconds of running the water. Not sure if this is an isolated problem to our neighborhood but the water quality seems to be very poor. Didnt know this moving into murfreesboro but as someone who isnt very fond of well water, Id much rather have a well than have this city water as our only option.Im not seeing an option to respond to the reply from CUD below, but our water is through CUD. CUD was the only water supply our property management allowed us to get - tricon residential/progress residential. I understand the means used to keep water sanitary, but I dont feel easy having my family bathe in this with how potent the smell is let alone drink the water without using a purifying system. The smell of ammonia is very distinct as well, on top of the smell of the chlorine.

I will NEVER NEVER buy a home that uses consolidated utility. I was ignorant to the fact they even existed when we bought r home but Ill never forget their name now. Not only is the water quality HORRIBLE but the COST is 3xs more then Murfreesboro city!--- add on-- to make it better they admitted they use 0 softener to help with the chemicals because it costs to much therefore forcing the consumer to pay even more then their outrageous water bill if they want any kind of relief you must pay out of your picket for a softer what a scam! So the city KNOWS ITS A PROBLEM and REFUSES to fix it! Shame on them and the HORRIBLE leadership who wants us to pay more for less to fatten their pockets.

I never ever write reviews and I am writing a review now because I had the easiest and friendliest customer service experience today. I work in customer service and administration so Im not that easily impressed but Lindsey was awesome! I called in, she answered in less than five rings, I told her my issue, she put me on hold, and she fixed my account and told me to have a great day. It took less than five minutes too. Thanks, Lindsey.

Like so many complaints the $1.75 convenience fee for payments is a bit ridiculous. PCI rules and data protection, is of course a premium, but the reasoning behind the cost is not very realistic. There are approximately 49,000 homes in Murfreesboro city limits alone . If 70 percent of the consumers pay online, which is a reasonable expectation. That means the sum total of fees eclipses $60,000.00 a month or $720,000.00 a year. Level three compliance runs on average for 20,0000 to 1 million transactions monthly at a cost of $14500 OR $175,000.00 a year....When managed remotely by third party security companies . Not sure where the other $600,000.00 is factored in but it just feels wrong.

I had some very bad luck as it turns out. I moved about 1/2 mile down the street and I was forced to switch from Murfreesboro Water to Consolidated Utility District water services. We are leasing a home that the water services was already connected through CUDRC, but we were charged $50 for a connection fee!? How does that work? No one had to physically come to my address and turn on the water...Next, we had a slow water leak in our master bedroom toilet upon move-in that raised our first water bill to $225 for 9990 gallons of water use and a 38 day billing cycle? I filled out a form that was emailed to me for an adjustment based on usage, and 3 months later I was only issued a $23 credit even though my normal usage is less than half of that month’s usage. We were also charged 2 months trash collection for 1 month and a partial month services. Don’t even get me started about their monthly storm water fee!Also, we are being charged $1.75 each time we pay our bill online, and we were told that if we want recurring monthly payments we must physically go to their office with a blank check to set up auto-draft...hello...this is 2021, not 1982! Why not add an encrypted payment option to your website, and let your customers set up auto pay and make payments without the fee? I’m sure you can afford to upgrade your website for what you’re charging for your services.Lastly, after doing a little research I found out that Consolidated Utility District has the dubious honor of being the 2nd highest water rates of any utility district in the entire state of Tennessee. The top honor for being the highest water service provider goes to Whitehouse Utility District...but who knows, with a little bit of effort and greedy motivation CUDRC could beat them out.After reading these reviews, I’m really struggling trying to figure out why this company goes to such lengths to keep doing the wrong thing by its customers. These reviews are roadmaps for change and reform. It seems that ignoring and taking advantage of customers because you “simply can” doesn’t do much for our community as a whole, and in fact sends the wrong message. IMO, they seem to be acting like the big bully on the block taking what the want without any feeling or remorse.Just imagine a world where businesses are shutting off its customer’s vital water services without warning... and on Friday afternoons no less (when they are closed on weekends). IMO they do this knowing the customer has no other choice but to pay their turn-on fee and after-hour fee...disgusting!!! Why would they not at least try to notify the customer if the business cared about the customer?

I filled out the online form to request service to my new home address. The water was turned on on the correct date, but there was no follow up via email, telephone, or mailed bill. Two months later, I find it odd that I have not received any correspondence from CUD, and contact them thru their website. They respond and give me my account number so I can sign into their website ( I didnt previously have access to this info) and I find a bill of 108$ with no breakdown for the charges and the obvious late fee. Needless to say, I am quite underwhelmed at the customer service from this company and pray one day we will have other options to select for utility providers in this area. #allhailcapitalism

Worst utility company I have ever had to deal with in my life. They make everything way too complicated. Charge you extra for everything. Hide information deep on their website. Call you liar by saying they sent you information when they never did. Dont take ownership of their mistakes. They dont actually have any compassion when you call. Will not wave fees or not shut off your service for issues related to COVID. They need to get with the 21st Century. Some leadership needs to change at this company. I would switch to a different utility company in a heart beat if I had an option. I have never met a person in Murfreesboro who actually has anything good to say about CUDRC.

I called and Jan answered the phone. We have been in our new place for about a month and I have been searching for the water meter. We have over a half mile of road frontage and I havent been able to find it. Jan told me to within 5 feet where it was located. Thanks so much for helping a lost guy out!!!

I called them late last night with sewer backing up and they had it all fixed by the time I woke up. They even called us back last night with an immediate solution to keep water from overflowing until they got here. Our rental company still had not responded by the time the utility company had everything fixed. Thanks guys we appreciate your dedication and hard work! :)

I called and spoke with Jan on 9/19/2019 about an extension. I was told to come in and sign an extension form. I was given an extension until 9/27. Unfortunately someone didn’t get the memo and they cut me off anyway. Now it’s Friday evening and they are closed. I called Sat morning and got the answering service and was told they don’t have access to the company information. I would have to agree to pay after hours fee of $100. Terrible service, you agreed to an extension and still cut me off. Ridiculous.

Been a costumer for years. Never had my water cut off. Best thing I did was set it up on direct draft. Theres no extra charge and you dont have to worry about it. And they did give me a courtesy call once before my draft was setup.

Being new to the area - we had to hunt & peck to figure out what a STEP system even was! We were advised to go to CUD for our area - they were prompt, friendly, informative, & whenever I’ve needed anything - they replied & assisted immediately! High ratings from us! The rest of the town should take customer service lessons from this company!

It’s unfortunate I have to use this company based on where I live. The customer service is ok but the convenience to customers are not as goodYou have to go in and enter you information EVERY bill because they don’t save your information for you because of “security concerns” yet you have to pay $1.75 fee using an e-check (any other payment method really) for said Security firm. It doesn’t make sense. I was gone for almost a month and my water bill was still $30+ because of all the fees. Very expensive and not convenient at all.

Every address Ive had while living in this area, dating back to when I moved here in 2006, has been recorded by Consolidated Utility District. They keep this information available online, against my will, and for some reason will NOT DELETE my previous addresses from their database. What are they doing with this information from 13 years ago???***REVIEW:A terrible utility company. A terrible company, period. You cant pay electronically without paying a convenience charge? This is laughable by todays standards. Pretty sure these payments go towards their new website, which is just a mess. Oddly enough, since I refuse to pay their convenience charge, I have absolutely no need for their website.They jack your rates up in the winter too (supposedly to match the price hike from the water treatment plant). No notice to the customer on when this happens. No options to bypass paying sewage on water that goes towards irrigation. Pretty much the most expensive water Ive paid for in any state Ive lived in.Customer service is never very helpful. Lack of quality control, lack of training, lack of basic customer service skills in general.

1 star is way too much for this water company. If you forget to pay your bill they cut your water off FAST. And my bill is ridiculously high! They won’t care about any of these negative reviews because they aren’t decent and they have terrible customer service. I just paid my bill and they wanted me to turn my own water back on...I don’t think so after just paying $149!!!! Worst utility company I’ve ever dealt with.

I RECEIVED A CALL THAT I MAY HAVE A WATER LEAK BECAUSE MY METER READING WAS A LITTLE HIGH. FOLLOWED THEIR INSTRUCTIONS AND DISCOVERED A LEAKING PIPE UNDER MY HOUSE. IT HAS SINCE BEEN REPAIRED, BUT COULD HAVE BEEN MUCH WORSE AS THE PIPE WAS READY TO BURST; PROBABLY WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WHILE ON VACATION AS LUCK WILL ALWAYS HAVE IT! They misread my meter twice apparently, then found out two months later. So they decided to add the two months amount onto one bill, doubling it, then gave me the same deadline to pay it, DURING A PANDEMIC. They then tried to add a late fee acting like I havent been paying the bill in full, because they went back and added to my previous bills. Theyre a terrible company with terrible practices.

Seriously, you guys need to make it to where people can set up automatic payments. There is no option to do so anywhere on your poorly assembled website. I have had my service shut off with no warning several times for no reason because every single bill I have is set up for auto pay EXCEPT FOR CUDRC. Take better care of your customers.

Have never missed a payment yet get constant calls about being disconnected. Customer service staff us extremely rude as well. If there was literally any other option I would gladly pay double or triple the amount monthly to switch.

I payed the bill twice and they said it was an incorrect account number. I pay this bill every month the same way with the same numbers and they sent my payment back and are trying to charge me a disconnect fee because they disconnected my water without warning and without consideration. I just went through surgery and as part of the recovery I need my stitches clean and I need to drink water. When I called to sort it out they said they dont have the information to help me and their supervisor was busy.Consolidated utility district, you have a serious flaw in your system. You provide the most basic service to Murfreesboro, water. If you cannot adequately provide that service then the government of Murfreesboro needs to shut you down and let someone else try.

Where do I start????? If I could give the NO stars I would. I promise it was an oversight on my part but I forgot to pay my bill. So they cut it off on a Friday evening! So I had to pay the 50 reconnect fee and then 100 for after hours reconnect! I am a single mother on a fixed income! They said they didn’t have a number on file to do a courtesy call which is an out right lie! They have the worst policies and procedures. Lowlife vultures that is what this business is! And they know there is nothing we can do since they are the only ones to service this area!

This consolidated utility district is terrible. I’ve been a customer for 7 years and paid my bills on time. I put my trash in the front of my house every Friday morning but this past Friday they didn’t pick it up and i found out from my neighbors in my neighborhood complex that their trash were picked up but not mine. It’s a Labor Day weekend and now I have to find a place in Rutherford County to dump my trash and I’m not so happy about this. Terrible!!!!!!!

I have not had a problem with this company. I was a little concerned when they sent me a notice to have my backflow tested a little early in the Spring almost before I have my irrigation system reopened, but they said they would push the date back if I needed it. That sounds like good service to me. I also just called about my water pressure fluctuating and they said they would try and get someone out today to look at it. Again, to me that is good service.

I called to pay on the automated system 2ce and got told to try again later. When I called to talk to customer service to pay my bill she told me she couldn’t take my payment. After arguing she finally agreed to take my payment and charged me twice! I called the following day to let them know and I was told it would be best to use it as a credit on my account or I would need to bring proof from my bank! Are you kidding me? This company messed up and I’m having to fix there screw up??? This business has went down hill and fast!

They disconnected our service without a warning. No knock on the door, no letter, no phone call. The lady on the phone told me they had no obligation to notify the household that theyre shutting their water down. Really? Its called being a decent company, of which currently they are not.

This company is totally worthless with poor water treatment and having a Web Site that at times does not work. I never had my water disconnected but I hear that their reconnection fee is absolute robbery. They do not offer options for payment other than 15 days delay but you will incur an unreasonable late fee. You would think that their system work perfectly. The City of Murfreesboro should have another Water company option for all residence

Website is clunky and difficult to use, they charge Agee everywhere possible, and will disconnect your service without notice so they can charge you a $75 reconnection fee. If there was another option in Murfreesboro this place would be out of business within the week.

They are awful! My bill is the same now as it was filling a swimming pool and watering a garden all summer! Then they changed their website making it more difficult to pay your bill and then even if youve paid your bill on time for years then you miss 1 month due to the new billing website stupidity they cut your water off with no notice!!!! Anyone forced to utilize CUDs services should consider themselves extremely unfortunate. Their rates and fees are horrendous. MWRDs rates are $3.66 per 1000 gallons. CUDs rates are $6.29 per 1000 gallons and then the rates step up for excess usage over 5000 gallons.We moved from Nashville to Murfreesboro and were shocked at the increase of our Water Bill.

I wish I could rate ZERO stars. This is the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They charged me for a leak that was going on before I even bought my house and refuse to drop the charges and threatened to turn the water off it is not paid. I cant access my account online and they will do nothing about it. I cant pay over the phone without being charged more. They are terribly rude and unprofessional in person. This company utterly disgusts me and I HATE that they are my only option. Which is why they know they can get away with being so HORRIBLE.

Please contact the TN PUC to complain about their new $1.75 convenience fee. What a joke. Do you see the electric, gas, cell phone, or internet companies charging for ACH payments? Nope, just consolidated utility. Also, the new website is garbage. Everyone must start using paper checks to avoid the fees. Stand up for yourself and dont let this utility fleece you!

Now they wont take payments over the phone but yet charge you a fee not only for using debit/ credit card but for electronic check also with the automative service. Really???? Sent me a bill, paid it. Suddenly my water was shut off without notification. They said I didnt pay the entire bill, but I paid what was stated on the bill. I cant help CUD incorrectly printed my bill. Also, they have a horrible online system that rarely works.

Extremely outdated-you cant make a payment over the phone. The employees just direct you to the Western Union web site, which is a royal pain in & of itself. I also had an instance where my water was shut off. When I called to find out what the hecks going on, I was told Id been disconnected for non-payment. And yet the employee I spoke with was immediately able to determine that my bill was not only current, but had never been late in the 15 years weve had that account. Not sure how that happened, but it took them half a day to get the water service turned back on.

Ive been in good standing with this company for 4 years. Ive never missed a payment and ive never been disconnected.While i was working in denver over the week i get a call from someone watching my dog telling me my water was off.(on a friday) I called consolidated and spoke to a spanish lady that helped prompt my payment.My bills paid and i have no water at my house until monday.Now ive been in denver a week with a suitcase of clothes to wash and no water. Im having to pay to get my clothes washed. And ill be forced to drive from murfreesboro to monteagle being thats my closest family i could shower at. Or i may get a cheap hotel room in town. NO NOTICE AT ALL.NO HELP AT ALL.Please fix this consolidated and ill remove this review. this is not fair .

Great business model. They fail to send a bill and then charge $ 50 plus to reconnect with fees when I dont notice. No warning. Caught them 3 out of 4 times when they tried this but they just got me again. Plus the water smells like turtle piss. I would avoid living in the Boro just because of these guys and Comcast alone.

The company is trash, I dont mind paying the bill but you cant use a debit or credit card without being charged for it. Its 2015 and I cant use a debit card to pay my bill. Oh but theyll take a check.... Who carrys checks anymore.... So I have to take time out of my day to get cash and pay the bill... Wait it gets better! They can use my checking a routing number, and charge my account... Stupid people let that happen. Its undisputable if the money is just taken from you.

CUD is one of those companies that cannot give you a straight answer when there is a problem. I live off of Dilton Mankin Road where CUDs contractor has been installing a much larger water line. The contractor has torn up yards and left many messes for months. The contractor seldom works except to dig up more yards. I called CUD to complain and nobody could or would tell me anything. Some inspector is supposed to call me and he will likely tell me what I have been told before: It will take just a little longer. This is a poorly managed utility but because it is basically a government entity it can do as it pleases and the hell with its customers.

Our water gets disconnected almost weekly, no warnings, no calls. The water pressure is terrible and when you call to inform them of issues they always respond in the most nonchalant way like it is what it is. Service is awful. I wish I could have a well dug and never have to deal with this company again.

Never have i had my service disconnected for nonpayment since 2006. But only recently i have been paying it late. Only by about 7-10 days. i still pay it in full including the late charge. Well i got a call last month to tell me there will be no more courtousy calls to tell me my bill is past due and that they were just going to cut it off. First off that is f-ing rude. 2nd -wheres the grace period? Whats the late charge for? I dont normaly write reviews, but this one was needed.

Just moved into the area, they turned my water off on the 4th with no notice. When i called they claimed they sent me a bill but i never got one (ive kept all my mail since i moved in) paid my bill as soon as they opened the next day, water still hasnt been turned on. I have 3 animals and a person with disabilty living in my home, having my water turned off with zero notice is not okay. Not turning it back on when i call them 3 times about it is even more not okay. I cant even turn it back on myself because they put a lock on it. I just moved here, had no way of knowing how they do the billing and payment when i dont receive my bill in the mail.

Make sure when you call to cancel your service for move out that you record the date and time you called so they can pull the call record when they inevitably do not cancel your service and still try to charge you two months after you move out.
