They have done excellent work on all 6 of my guitars, from setups to fretwork and electronics. I have also gotten two guitars here and they made sure they were perfect from the moment I picked them up. This is an excellent shop

Jimmy went above and beyond to help get my son started with his guitar. My son attempted to string the guitar himself and ran into some challenges and ultimately broke a couple of strings. He went above and beyond to get him set up and ended up stringing the guitar for us. This is the level of service that you don’t see very often. Thanks again for your help!

I bought a bass here today and I think it was the best shopping experience I have ever had. I was able to try out a couple different basses and Wally helped me and my wife make a great purchase of an instrument I am extremely excited about. They performed the setup on the bass and made some mechanical adjustments to get me out the door with an instrument they were proud of.I am so thrilled that I went here. Literally everyone was so welcoming and enthusiastic about what they were doing, and you can tell this place is all about quality.

Brought my banjo in to be set up and I couldn’t be more satisfied! Cameron is great and during the 45 min he took to set it up, he walked me through the whole process and set it up to perfection. I thought my banjo sounded good before, and I can say it doesn’t even sound like the same instrument anymore! 100% will be coming back!

Entered maskless with $8500 cash in hand for a new guitar and was promptly told to put on a mask. While politely explaining why I cant wear masks due to a medical exemption, I was asked to leave. The CDC says masks dont work, the state mask mandate has been lifted and yet Guitar Czar demands them, in direct violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990.Enough is enough. Taking my business elsewhere.

I have an Epiphone Les Paul 100th anniversary and I took it to the store to change the strings and also to leave them as strings with the lowest possible action. There was a problem with the cable entry jack. I got the guitar that Friday and I wanted to be able to spend all day playing because it is much more comfortable, everything adjusted. Flawless work. I recommend!

I was uncomfortable in their store, as they are very stingy with taking their guitars off the wall and it was clear that they didnt want me to spend too long with their guitar. Good selection of Gibsons, though not the most knowledgeable staff. They have Taylors but no martins, for Martin or Taylor go shop at Acoustic Music SLC.

I recently visited a big name guitar store near my house- I walked in looking to buy a beginner guitar for my boy. I walked around for 20 minutes and did not have a single employee ask if I needed assistance. I walked out the door and drove to Guitar Czar.I walked through the door and was immediately greeted by Jimmy. He asked me what I was after. I let him know and he walked me straight to a perfect 3/4 sized acoustic guitar.I walked out of the store in 15 minutes hooked up with a new guitar, bag, and a handful of picks.Dont waste your time with the big name places. Very cool local shop! The Luther knows his stuff! I was working on a repair project and I needed to buy a capacitor. He helped me understand the different types and how they affect the sound.Now that I think of it, all of the staff operates like this here. They have never sold me anything. Instead they have educated me on the different options available for what I am trying to do and then recommend the best fit for me and my budget. Walking in here feels like stopping by at a friends house tbh.I come here for all of my electric guitar stuff.

Really great selection, including a few customs by local luthier Joes Guitars. My fave is this wild, distressed G firebird style guitar with F hardware -so cool! Awesome acoustic room. Last visit I got a couple of really nice cables and a new set of tubes for my amp. The guys and gals here really know their shtuff! Lots of choices in a small space. Guitar Czar really is where the coolest guitars are!! around 60th south and State Street on the east side of the street. I like this place a lot.

Had some repair work done on a 70 year old Gibson and they did a beautiful job.In addition they were enthusiastic about explaining some guitar maintenance I asked about. The entire staff there was accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

I love the staff as much as the gear and they have it! As a beginning, and old player, they made me comfortable experimenting with new gear and most importantly they cater to us lefties. I got my orange crush amp and fender telecaster from them and will go back to finish off the hunt for my holy trinity

I have been a customer of Guitar Czar for over 20 years. I absolutely love this place. The newer location is much more visible and easy to access. Still a friendly and knowledgeable staff. I had Eric turn my first bass into a fretless years ago. They still have a fantastic luthier shop. While youre there, pick up a Folk Hogan cd or three. I think the entire band works there, lol. I know one of the luthiers is a Folk Hoganite. He made a Flying-V Mandolin. One of a kind.

We went in to buy a beginner acoustic guitar and the prices here were much lower than other places in the valley. Wally was really friendly and helpful and made sure we left with every promotional item available. These guys are super nice and very knowledgeable; I highly recommend this spot.

One of the best guitar repair shops around. I started going to them for random repairs and upgrades throughout the years, and have never had a bad experience.More recently I’ve made more purchases there, and have not been disappointed. Most reputable musical instrument manufacturers dictate the price their items, and provide a warranty so you may as well buy locally from a shop that’ll take care of you, and you can go or for quality repairs.Most big box stores don’t check instruments before they ship them to you. It’s too costly with slim margins they are making on entry level instruments. Go into a big box guitar store and you’ll be lucky to find a guitar that they’ve taken the time to tune. A local shop like this will include a set up and make sure things are working right whether a $300 or $3000 Guitar. If you’re trying to learn and instrument you’ll likely get frustrated playing it if things like string action and intonation not set up right. Guitar necks are affected by temperature, humidity etc.Always nice, always low pressure and happy to have them here in Salt Lake City and want to support them so they’re around for years to come.

Guitar Czar is an awesome shop, I come here all the time. Theyre small and local but despite that they have a good selection of electric and accoustic guitars, it seems like I see new guitars in there every time I go in. Same goes for basses, good selection anywhere from 5 string to fretless. They also have a great selection of amps, cabs, and pedals. I usually come to this store for string and cables if Im not picking anything else up. My last guitar, bass and bass amp (and guitar amp now that I think of it) were all purchased from here. The employees are kind and friendly and always willing to help out and just talk music. I always prefer to come to this shop over a big name change shop. (you know the one, no hate on them but I like supporting local)

Fixed my guitar. Sounds great now! I have a decent Washburn acoustic (about $400) that had some awful fret buzz. They straightened out the neck, fixed the nut slot depth, and lowered the bridge (which I think requires a little bit of sanding). It sounds and plays great now! Thank you so much!

Bought a Fender Telecaster here. I wanted to completely customize the guitar and trusted Ray to get the job done. Not only did he get the job done, he exceeded my expectations. The guitar turned out great and was done just the way I wanted it done. I gave Ray another custom guitar to work on that was very tricky to set-up, he got the job done on that one as well. Great guitar shop!

Wonderfully helpful and knowledgeable staff encased in a building that is a one stop need for guitars and their accessories. I am not a musician, but my husband is. I went in for his Christmas present and the staff was so helpful and my husband loved his gift. Guitar Czar is now my husbands favorite music store and his first go to for all his guitar needs. Avoid the obnoxious cacophony of sound at Guitar Center, save yourself tons of money and introduce yourself to the greatness that is Guitar Czar! Better products, less hassle and friendlier staff by far. They are knowledgeable and helpful. Their tech team is off the wall good if you a repair or adjustment.

And I have to say Moses is, in my opinion, one of the best luthiers on the planet, especially with a mandolin. So blessed to live nearby. Awesome place, good selection of guitars and amps and basses. Their staff has a wealth of knowledge and are willing to educate and set people up with the gear that is right for them. They dont pressure sale and they are always courteous. I take lessons here and the teachers are amazing and fair priced. They are also now centrally located in the valley allowing better access. Ample parking and great hours.

I had my Gibson Es-330 serviced here recently. I loved the guitar before, but man it’s even better now. They were fast and asked me how I play and took the time to understand what I wanted in the setup. I will definitely be using them to service my guitars in the future.

I was beyond impressed with this business and the employees today. Being out in public has been very nerve-racking and stressful for me during this whole covid-19 social distancing. I was very grateful to see they were following the guidelines and looking out for their customers and employees health and safety. Brought my custom guitar in to get new pickups and potentiometers installed. They upsold me on some new strings and something they call setup, bragging that they are the best and guarantee their work for 30 days. I got my guitar a month later, took it home and noticed a lot of fret buzz that I didn’t have before. When I went back to the shop to ask about it, the luthier looked at me like I was wasting his time. He did some quick fix to stop the buzz but now I get home and the intonation is off. For the price I paid ($288 !) and the bragging, I’m disappointed. The staff was generally really nice on first visit.

Jimmy was very knowledgeable and helpful. Staff in general are awesome! Selection was great and the guitar lessons being offered makes this store even more awesome! I look forward to shopping here again for all my future guitar needs. Hopfully studio rooms or recording set up could be available soon.

My family and I were at Guitar Czar just looking for a teacher for my son. The guys at the store were really nice to us. They treated us like we were going to buy the entire store and I just bought a set of strings. We will go back every time we need something. I toured many shops in the area when I was looking for a bass+amp. Guitar Czar was by far the best place to visit. If I would have just come here first, I would have saved myself a lot of time! If you are looking to buy a guitar, bass, or amp, come here! If you think you can find an instrument cheaper online, remember they hook you up with at least one tune up after you buy the instrument. You wont be able to beat that!

Took my guitar to get a touch up and the guy over the register totally hooked me up! everyone there was extremely friendly and professional. as I waited I was greeted with a smile and a friendly do you need any help by every single employee. they offer an amazing verity of guitar brands and models. especially ones you cant find at guitar center or best in music... I was amazed at how this Ma and Pa music place blew big chains like the ones previously mentioned out of the water! Everyone there was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. DEFINITELY going back and making this my new music store.

I’m a Fender guy personally, and they always have a great selection of Fender basses for me to geek out on. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable, I’ve had some set ups done on my bass and they always do a perfect job. Don’t go to Guitar Center, go to Guitar Czar!!!

This place is amazing. Its like the music stores i remember as a kid.Helpful staff, real musicians who share their experience and love of music with you. I brought in my Washburn acoustic in for a tuneup and to have the strings lowered. They took it right back to a technician, he made a minor neck adjustment and it now plays amazing. They wouldnt accept any payment and encouraged me to come back again. I would highly recommend these guys for anything from small jobs to major instrument restoration. A+++

Moses is an awesome guitar tech/luthier. Kameron and the others at the front of thebstore are super friendly and helpful. Great selection of gear. The space is small, so they dont have zillions of guitars like one of those chain stores, but they more than make up for it with quality guitars and amps. Sweet meechandise, laid back atmosphere, and an opportunity to shop local. Dont waste your time going to that guitar megastore in Taylorsville, go to Guitar Czar. You wont regret it.

I had a great experience with Cory and the guys here. I hadnt been here in years but to no surprise, Guitar Czar still stands as one of the BEST places to get your gear. I often come here to grab guitar strings and picks. I will usually ask them a couple questions I have about different equipment such as amps or pedals. They are very honest and helpful with their advice.

I walked in here for a repair and he was able to do it very quickly. It was a fairly simple intonation repair but my guitar requires you take the neck off. Riverton music could not adequately repair my guitar even with much more time. Guitars, Drums, and more is even worse. Guitar center knows even less than any of them. All of the guitars I saw were quality, on top of all this they are very friendly. I will only be shopping here now

Great shop. The people that work there are smart, professional and they know what they are doing with setups. If you want quality service and a staff that will go the extra mile, then these are the guys to visit. I used to go to Guitar City, MARS, and Guitar Czar, but now only this shop is left. This shop hasnt changed much, but specifically the SERVICE has always been amazing.

Guitar Czar is simply one of the best shops in the valley. Ive purchased a handful of instruments from them and also had them service a few, and theyve always been a breeze to work with. Going there is like going to hang out with your friends - everyone is knowledgeable and friendly, and theyll beat chain music stores on service, price and selection any day.

Super helpful! Came in here as a last resort looking for a $60 part for a left handed Warwick bass that everyone else needed to order. ..it was an emergency as my hubby had a gig the next night and we were out of options. Spent 20 minutes talking with Ray and he fixed the problem with a 72-cent part. Really happy we stopped in here.

I love this place. My last guitar purchase was here and it was a pretty big one. I took a lot of time on a few different occasions to play nearly all the guitars in the acoustic room. The employees encouraged me to take as much time as I could and provided some excellent guidance on how to make an educated purchase. I never felt pressured or like i was being upsold. They really just shared their excitement for the craft and were genuinely excited to help me find the right guitar for me.

Staff is friendly and helpful, and the selection is pretty good. They stock stuff that Guitar Center doesnt, like Mesa Boogie and various effects. Ive had a couple of guitars setup there and the work is really good. They set up one of my guitars in the wrong tuning once due to a miscommunication but they fixed that free of charge. The way a company handles situations like that says a lot about them. Im impressed with their integrity and will continue doing business there.
