A few years ago, I bought a 1989 Tartan 372, and knew from the survey that the engine had seen better days. We decided to replace the engine for the 2020 season, and John at Torresen Marine asked me what my plans were for our beloved boat. After telling him we planned to sail her for years, and that we wanted the best for the boat, John picked out a Yanmar engine worthy of SKYE. Jeff, who installed the engine, and all the craftsmen who had to remove / refit the wood cabinetry surrounding the engine, and some electrical upgrades, did a fantastic job. I HIGHLY recommend working with John and Jeff if your beloved boat needs an engine replacement!

Its very convenient having a major marine supplier and maintenance business right at the marina. Rates are reasonable, staff is awesome.

I have always had great service, enjoy the people in service and the ships store. I have had some minor billing issues that were quickly resolved and they made sure that I was taken care of. Overall I think Torresen is a great do it yourself boat yard and would highly recommend storing here.

We have kept our boat on the hard at Torresen for several years. This is a good place, well run, good people, family owned. Excellent painting with indoor heated cure building & reasonable prices. You can do almost any work in the yard including outside contractors as long as you do not create a hazard or mess for the other boats. They make local house calls in the area. They will pick up your boat at local marinas for winter haul-out & you do not need to be there. Ships store is pretty well stocked. There is a used inventory (Gordons Garage) that might have what you need. There are used masts available. Many other services - call.

Although it is a lot of work when we get out to Torresen, its always nice to have their expertise. They provide great service, have exception knowledge of Sailboats, and are always hospitable. Pricing is on the high end but its a one stop shop.

After an incompetent mechanic caused a number of problems with our Universal M25 diesel, we decided to replace it entirely. Torresen Marine staff did an outstanding job of accomplishing that and went well beyond the level of detail and skills Id found at other marinas in Chicago and Michigan. Highly recommended for diesel and sailboat owners!

Great place for winter storage. They are on time and efficient. Even will pick up your boat for no charge anywhere on Muskegon lake.

Used to use this marina to haul out. Never again. The woman on the phone told my husband that there was no place for our boat and then added the longer this conversation goes on, the worse it gets.. We are happy in Pentwater. Wont be using Torresons again.

Thought a sailboat broker would be better than CL or a private seller I was wrong. I was charged twice on my card for my deposit, I filled out paperwork 3 times, once when I deposited, once when I bought, and once after I had the boat back on the other side of the state. Im glad I overnighted my paperwork the 3rd time for 20 bucks to keep the ball rolling so I could get my new registration one day short of 2 weeks later.... I felt the whole time like I was Inconveniencing Steve by buying a small boat (todays 22 ft customer might just be tomorrows 30 ft customer and actually a sailor, In hindsight I should have worn my Nautica tee and brought a screwdriver to bang on the boat), the boat I bought needed 2 nuts for a mast support for towing, i inquired about buying some and was looked at like I was asking for a hand out but I bought them down the road. Should have had it checked out (and you should too) took the boat out just 2 trips off the dock to sails up and now the motor is junk no spark just junk.

Recently while sailing in Muskegon Lake the screws holding the gougeon on my day sailer tore out. The next morning I took the boat to Torresen Marine just looking for some advice. I got way more than that!!John Reelman took the time to look over my issue, gave me a few options on how I could repair the problem myself if I wanted and had a suggestion on how he could help. He went way beyond the scope of what I had hoped for when I stopped in. He custom fit a new mount, drilled all the appropriate holes and gave me clear instructions on how to proceed on my own. They provided everything I needed to finish repairing my boat with little effort. It cost much less in time and money than I ever expected.Johns professionalism, expertise, patience, wisdom and customer service were extraordinary. He exceeded my goals and expectations. We were able to implement his suggestions and provisions which allowed us to continue sailing during the remainder of our vacation. Something I had little hope was possible.Thank you very much to the entire Torresen family for their service and commitment to Muskegon and West Michigan.If I could give them 10 stars, I would.

So apparently it takes over 4 man hours to stand a mast on a 27-foot boat. I wont make that mistake again.

Ive ordered engine parts online both from Torresen Marine and from the renamed TOAD Marine Supply (hmm, why the name change?). In my experience, shipping always takes longer than they advertise. My second experience was particularly mediocre. They will claim factors beyond their control and blame Volvo Penta but if they are serious about selling online its just not good enough. Further, simple things, like getting UPS tracking number, require follow-up emails. Interactions with their customer support staff are not particularly pleasant either.
