Love this place, Ran by very nice people who care about how the pier is Operated. My only suggestion would be during the months that ribbon fish are running the pier should be open later than 9 PM daily. Ribbon fish dont start biting well till dark and by the time they do its time to pack up and leave. We drive long distances to get there and fish. It makes more sense to leave it open a few hours longer in the evening. They would get a lot more business. A lot of my friends dont go to Second Avenue Pier because it closes at 9 p.m..
Incredible staff and wonderful food! Highly recommend to stop here and eat if your in town!
Beautiful place to go. Only scary part is that the end of the pier is broken and they have it blocked off. But it didnt make me feel any better having my littles there. We tried to use the big gumball machines and it was stuck. The claw machine doesnt work either. The people inside are really nice thoughOur stroller ended up tipping over inside because of the uneven flooring at the entrance so be careful there. Other wise it was a nice trip.
The pier was fine, but it definitely needs some repairs and maintenance. The entire end of the pier was damaged so no one could walk all the way down and it wouldnt hurt to have some sort of umbrellas or shade so not everyone is in direct sunlight, mostly for people who may not be fishing but are with people who are. Overall its still a fun place to visit and see the different things people catch, like eels and sharks.
I didnt visit the restaurant but I did walk the pier.. Its a nice pier to walk on and take pictures.. roomy even when kinda crowded and had a great view. I like that its a small little no frills entrance so kids arent begging for stuff constantly! The guy working the counter had zero personality. That and the fact that the end is boarded off and falling into the ocean are the only negatives lol but it is really secure and not easy for kids to get to the dilapidated part. Nice pier. Ill visit again, just wish it didnt cost!! Heads up if youre visiting, its $2 per person to walk the pier. Dont be like me and walk to the pier with no money only to have to walk back for cash and back and forth again after the walk on the pier!
September 14th 15th and 16th spent $80 to $100 each at wicked tuna. 2nd ave pier had our vehicle towed. The manager of wicked tuna attempted to assist us by pulling all receipts for us to show the pier we are paying costumers. The two men working in the pier did not care would not assist, when asked for a manager we were told there is not one. We asked whom we could speak to for assistance to resolve their mistake, nothing...... 200.00 for a tow that should not have happened plus hours taken away from our vacation FOR BEING PAYING COSTUMERS
Ahh was ok. Not a recommendation this time. Food not bad, service was a little stand off, like they were afraid to ask me what I wanted. I expected great service, and great food for the price. Didnt get either, but was a great view.
Great pier. Just love it there. Its a must when I go to Myrtle Beach that I go there.
Love this pier the owners are so friendly. My husband love to fish of this pier
An awesome pier. It does cost $2 per person but its totally worth it. Support local businesses! The pier itself looks to built really sturdy. Didnt feel in danger while on it. There is a restaurant in the building and you can buy fishing equipment inside as well if you feel like fishing. You can also feed the fishes for $.50 cents. The employees in the building are really friendly and helpful. The bathrooms inside are really clean. The Pier is quite long, which makes for great pictures of the beach and Myrtle Beach skyline. Parking is free October through March, so that made parking there easier (Parked during first week of January 2020). Beach is clean and tidy. We felt very safe here. Would definitely recommend coming here during the off season since there arent many people to walk through. Overall, one pier we would make a stop at again in Myrtle Beach.
Had a great time fishing off the pier. Got rained on pretty good for a little bit but was a nice reprieve from the heat
My dad and I walked out on the pier while visiting Myrtle Beach. It was probably a mile up from our hotel so we walked up to it. It costs $2 a person to walk out on the pier. Fishing costs more ($16/day I think?). It appears they are renovating the pier. I assume after the latest hurricane damage. They are adding a restaurant on the first floor and an open air bar on the third floor. There is an elevator to get to the second and third floors. The shop has a few things you can buy. This pier is pretty long. The end of it is blocked off as I assume they are still repairing it. There were quite a few people out finishing the afternoon we were there (it was Sunday I think). They have lots of picnic tables along the way with umbrellas to sit and enjoy the view. It was nice to visit.
They wanted to charge to walk on the pier!? Did not see it as a result… just turning away visitors. It was cheap but still it’s just a pier.
The little shop on the pier was the best. The men who worked there super helpful with fishing and other activities to do while at the beach
Im not a fan of fishing but my wife took me to go crab fishing and now its favorite thing in the world. It was cheap for the whole trap and everything with it. Like 45$ and thats including the all day passes. Parking was free. But I found the perfect thing to do in myrtle beach #addictedtocrabfishing
Great place to visit. Warm atmosphere.
The staff is always friendly and helpful. I enjoy walking on the pier and watching people fish off of it. Most of all I enjoy looking for shark teeth near the pier!
Very expensive but thats a wonderful place to visit and eat and drink the pier is a wonderful part of this organization probably two hundred feet out into the water.
Obviously the thing that attracts you here and can’t possibly disappoint is the location. This restaurant is located right one 2nd avenue pier and has great views of the beach and the water. The restaurant itself was good. The food was priced fair and the portions were good. One of the best things I had was actually the grits with my sandwich, it was prepared to perfection. My sandwich was less inspired however, I ordered a po’ Boy and the end of the bun was hard as a rock. But everyone else really liked their meal so all in all a really good place. Also the waitress was very friendly and that goes a long way.
Great views, good eats, a must on a visit to the beach.
Love this area. Always find lots of decent size sharks teeth around this pier.
Very beautiful, was a nice walk, people catching fish everywhere! Going back later to rent a pole myself 😁
Very nice pier, friendly staff. Just wish restaurant was opened.
Very fun place to get great pictures!!
Great place to fish and the guys running it were super nice

Beutiful and nice place for family and friends
We had an excellent dining experience.
Good view, pier is not in the best shape though. Several of the logs supporting the pier have rotted away.
The ocean and pier were amazing
Went there for the 4th of july fireworks. Beautiful
Cool pier. Great restaurant!
Ton of snags while fishing. Lost a rig every cast for 3 hours 😠
My favorite place to walk out and take in the salt air. Friendly people and good fishing.

Nice. Pretty crowded mid day mid week. Easy access.
Fun place lots of fishing off the pier.
Very beautiful out here
Fishing was Terrible, no one was catching anything.....
Love this place. Proposed to my wife here. Always come back to visit it.
Lots of sharks around the pier.
It was a nice pier. Lots of sharks and ribbon fish being caught. The end also has a shady area where you can get out of the sun and cool off.
Wonderful time with the family
Very nice.
We had a great time!
Great views from the pier
We have came here several times throughout the years and we love it. We have never ate here but we always come to watch there fireworks, which are absolutely amazing and beautiful!!!! We also come to walk on the pier and watch people fishing. We went today 8/24/2019 and there were so many sharks I will try and post the pictures on here. It was so cool to see that many sharks!! The two men that were working there were extremely friendly to us and everyone else that was there. It was very clean and there bathrooms are always clean when we go. It’s so fun to go and it’s only $2.00 and it’s good all day as long as you keep your receipt .
We caught a lot of fish and had a great time fished all day but only caught little fish but the experience was awesome. Will try sushi latter
Staff were rude bunch of mean mugging mfs
Great food
Good food and the best prices around. I’m actually stunned how affordable all the drinks are. Staff was super friendly and the view? Best around myrtle beach. So far I’ve visited this place twice with my wife because of how great our experience has been.
