I had to get my car inspected last min. I called about an hour before closing and was hesitant there would be availability. I’ve never been to this shop and thought I’d give it a try. Gary was very nice and took my car right away. The service was super fast and the prices were affordable. Will definitely return!

My Lexus 2010 has been to a few different repair centers over the years, including the dealer. G&A is by far the best! They are friendly, professional, and they really know what theyre doing. They correctly identified and fixed a problem that even the dealer couldnt figure out. Now my car runs buttery smooth. It feels like I took a time machine back to 2010 when my car was brand new!!!

Had some lights on after installing an aftermarket steering wheel on my brz, couldn’t figure out the issue. They ran a diagnostics for me and thoroughly explained what the issue was and how to solve it. They were incredibly Helpful and didn’t charge a thing. Definitely would recommend.

I stopped in for an inspection and an oil change on my day off this past Monday. I didn’t have an appointment and wasn’t able to drop the car off. Gary found the time to squeeze me in while I waited for the car. The work was done quickly and very professionally. Gary advised me of some issues that they found while working on the car. I remembered while the work was being done that there was an issue with the car that I had forgotten about and asked him to take a look. He quickly diagnosed the problem and wound up ordering and installing a part that was required later that same day. I had been to G & A Automotive prior to this latest visit with a couple of different cars and the service was great then too. In addition to talking about the cars, we both talked about our families etc. Gary is very friendly and attentive as well as being knowledgeable; professional and courteous. G&A has been my auto service repair business since my move from NYC 4 years ago. I can always trust the assessment that G&A makes regarding the service my car needs. There is never a high pressure service push to do unnecessary repair work. Also G&A explains whatever service it is performing and the cost of the service without being patronizing or using too much car talk which is not my specialty. G&A has been very flexible with seeing me when I needed emergency work from having a blown tire caused by debris left on the highway or electrical work when my diagnostic system was acting screwy. I have been going to G&A for about 20 years and wouldn’t go anywhere else. Gary tells me what I need to know and not what I want to hear AND he gives me options. What has to be done, different options/costs to do so, and what can wait. When he works on my car he does the job right the first time. And I never feel like he’s just trying to do jobs just to pad the invoice . I been around the block with other car maintenance shops and I’ll never go back!! Beware of this place. I do a ton of work on my car by myself. I recently put in all new cooling parts and the car has run beautifully for two months. No leaks. No nothing. I wanted a quote for another part, they insisted that I take it in for the quote. I thought sure why not. They then told me that my cooling system leaks at idle (enough to go below the “add” line, was at the “full” line when I brought it in) and showed me the puddle. The car has never leaked once in the hours I have had it in idle and monitored the car. Suddenly my car has a crazy leak? No chance. Their quote for the part I needed to be replaced was $1500 dollars more expensive than the quote received elsewhere. I also had to pay for an hour labor for their “time” telling me about my faulty parts. I just wanted a quote. Just a quote. Be careful with these guys and know your stuff before taking your car here. I hope they don’t take advantage of the less knowledgeable.

Dropped off the car on Saturday morning to have the Check Engine light diagnosed without an appointment, I was told that it might be there until Monday, which was fine. New to the area, I was looking for a reliable mechanic to care for my older, high mileage vehicles. Based on good reviews here I decided to give G & A shot and Im very glad I did! Gary and his staff are friendly, prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. They diagnosed and solved 2 complicated issues that my last 3 mechanics were unable/ unwilling to solve. It wasnt cheap but the price was reasonable for the work involved and they stand behind their work. Im looking no further, Ive got my new go-to place.

My husband and I are newer to the area and had not found a mechanic- until this week when my older Jeep Grand Cherokee wouldnt start. We had be recommended to Gary from a coworker, and we were so impressed from the moment we dropped the car off. Gary did an excellent job listening to our concerns with the car. He kept the car and tested it several times until he could get the issues I was having to occur for him as well. Eventually when he and his team had a chance to diagnose the issue, he called and explained the parts my car would need, the function of each part, and why that would solve the problems my car was having. Great service!

Fixed what 2 other shops couldnt and got me back on the road! When traveling from FL to ME and back my van started blowing the primary engine fuse over and over. I had it towed to 2 different places that fixed the wrong things or just said they wouldnt be able to fix it - then on strong suggestion from my excellent tow truck guy we took it to G & A. Electrical issues are miserable and this one was the worst I had ever encountered. It took 12 hours to find it but it was a BURRIED wire with a 2 mm section of worn wire shorting out. They documented the efforts, took pictures, keep in contact by phone and found 2 other similar issues that could have put my trip in jeopardy as well. They did a great job, fixed everything, gave me a bit of a break on the diagnosis hours and put me on the road with full peace of mind. I drove the next 20 hours hassle free. Gary was excellent to deal with!

This is,Hands Down the Best Automotive Repair Shop in Rockland County.Ive been driving 47 years and I do most of my own repairs, from brake lines to rebuilt heads, timing chains to bulbs. So I bring my vehicles (four) to Gary and his crew for oil changes and inspections. Its high praise when Gary sees my work and says nice job.Gary will NOT B S you. hell tell you what you NEED and what can wait (but Keep an eye on it) I gladly recommend G&A to my friends and family and they have told me how happy they are with G&As service. If you have a car, this is were to go for honest, quality work every time.

When I drove up with something lodged in my tire, they quickly took care of the problem, allowing me to get back on my way. Very helpful and accommodating.

I went in for a routine inspection after it was don i was told i needed wipers and a brake light bulb and that the total would be over $140, this comes from a $37 inspection. and the cost of labor 2 wipers and a bulb were over $100?? Get Real. I guess this place is handy in a a pinch if you have extra money you want to give away for no reason at all

I drive a Nissan Maxima and refuse to go to any dealership cosidering their consistent inadequate and high price visits. I have confidently sent friends to Gary knowing his level of service. You wont be dissapointed!

Over priced, went due to great review but estimate for follow up repair was triple the cost elsewhere. Wont be coming back.
