I’ve been constantly discriminated against and feel targeted every time I shop at this location. The cashier is extremely rude, slams the goods that others donate, while I’m paying for them at the register. The manager is just as rude and careless as the lady I speak of. Every time I go there’s a problem or she has to triple check the count of clothes or stay for EVER searching for the tag color on the clothes. She doesn’t try and pack your things after she took a whole hour to ring up the items and calls on to other customers. People get frustrated with the long lines she unnecessarily creates doing things on purpose to try and upset me. This lady is usually at the register, but if she’s not the manager makes sure she is the one to ring me up each time I go and leaves her by herself or tells me to wait for her if it’s my turn to pay with someone that’s not her. I honestly don’t know what their problems are, I thought contributing to a good cause would be better than buying new at stores much closer to me- heck, I even donate at Goodwill. This uncertain feeling of being discriminated was validated yesterday 6/8/21 when I went in to shop and the same lady started shouting at me that the kids clothing are not on sale- the sign stated “shirts & t-shirts” did not specify gender or age while slamming the items on the floor with a smirk on her face. Heartbroken I had to leave my sons shirts and was allowed only shirts for myself and my husband. It felt personal, rude, cold and like I was being ganged up on when the manager was summoned by the rude cashier and she also gave me attitude stating that “the computer don’t take the sale for kids, doesn’t come up and the sign says shirts not kids shirts”. I never complain, but I feel overwhelmed from being discriminated for months now. This location needs a change.
I believe that shopping at GoodWill is shopping at a good cause but the extreme disrespect I receive while shopping is unbearable. The manager Kelease is very unprofessional and careless. I went there to buy a couch that I thought would be perfect for my daughter. For starters, there was a price tag on it. I was told it wasn’t the right price which is okay because mistakes get made but as soon as I started asking for the right price it became chaos. They sent me from one co worker to the next and nobody could find the price for me. I sat there for at least 20 minutes waiting for a price to be brought to be. When they finally got the manager (Kelease), I asked for the price and she walked passed me as if I was speaking, put the price on it with the gun and walked away. No conversation, no explanation. The price went from 59.99 to 299.99. I do not mind the price but the way I was disrespected, ignored and had mytime wasted was enough to write this review.
Good pricing, organized, lots of clothes. The cashier and employees were nice... didnt experience what other people wrote about employees not being nice.
I just started going to this store last August 2020. It was very neat back then with a decent selection of clothes. Since then the store has gotten very sloppy with clothes left on the floor. The selection of good clothes has worsen. The staff is not very helpful or friendly with the exception of Arlene who is always very cordial and knows what she is doing at the cash register.I hope they improve the store and stop it from going downhill.
Love clothing! Very organized, and cheap. The workers dont really help the customer though. Overall will come again.
Nice second hand store. You could find things you may need and help people in need.
Not bad. Prices way to high on ekelectronics. $129 for 7 year old Sony 30 flat screen 42 inch TVs are $169 new now. 10 year old receivers $90. $25 Macys suits with moth holes. Buy new on sale for $100
Very clean & neat. I donated & then bought a paper back book.
Always find something interesting or Useful! This time found an electronic paper notebook unopened for $5., a Sterling silver bookmark and a Rudyard Kipling serial published as a book in 1909 Total cost: $10.81!
Hit or miss with the clothing. I found 3 really nice tops. Cant really speak for the home goods part of the store.
I asked when I entered the store about the Tuesday’s $1 and the employee was nasty and told me look at the sign.I was there two months ago and everything tag with the day’s color was $1. After spending over 2 hours picking up clothes I was told by the cashier that not everything was a $1 just pants. They’ve canceled the Tuesday’s specials and they don’t make the customers aware of that.Lost two hours.Very disappointed by the service and the change.
The selection has not been great recently. It’s been sparse and junky.EDIT: I went back this week, they had a few more interesting pieces, but as I was rummaging through, all I kept on thinking was Is it just me or is this stuff super over priced? I understand that Good Will needs to make money like any other store, but they are charging more than the price of the items new. The attached picture is just an example of a set from Christmas Tree Shop that was originally priced at $1.99 in store and Good Will priced as $5.00, come on the price is right there on the packaging! I saw another frame that was new with the tag priced the same as if you were to buy it in store. No one comes to Good Will to pay store prices, or worse, more than what the actual store charges. In addition, their clothing is priced as if it were new on clearance...
Although I got some good things here this was one of the least pleasant Goodwill experiences Ive had because everything was a flat rate ie one or two dollars more than Im used to paying in Pennsylvania and New jersey, and the bathrooms and try on rooms were closed and some of the staff were really very detached and it wasnt as much fun as usual.
Super blue tag sale Tuesday. All blue tags were $1, I just went there to donate and ended up shopping. Great selection, clean store, good service.
Could be a little more organized but for the space available its understandable. Staff is very kind and helpful. Someones trash is always another mans treasure.
Great place to donate. And if you look you may find a great bargain
Worst customer service. I brought a senior and the cashier was so mean Black woman named Elaine or something like that
Customer service here is extremely poor. People act like they dont really want to talk to you and only talk to you because they have to. It shouldnt matter that items being sold were donated, people still spend money there and deserve the same customer respect.
Lots of great items there. I purchased some dress shoes here for 7$. These shoes are way better than any other shoe I ever purchased. Also got a monitor for 7$, pretty impressive.
I have found a lot of staple pieces and unique items here, but like it is with most thrift stores, I had to pick through racks and racks before finally striking gold. The selection here is very hit-or-miss and a lot of items are overpriced for what they are.
Terribly slow checkout and bad selection of goods.
They have security following you as me and my family shopped. Worst goodwill I’ve shopped at. Will never go here again. Never experienced this even in nyc
Beware of the white older security guard. There has been a few occasions where I felt Ive been targeted without reason. He would not stand physically next to me but noticed how hed stand in the area I was while shopping. While it is expected security guards oversee stores and staff, NO one should be followed or be given reasons to feel uncomfortable without reason. I personally feel he should be terminated as Im certain hes doing this to other customers. This type of behavior is unacceptable. Otherwise store is nice along with reasonable prices.
Check out line out the door. Will go during week. Saturday afternoon 130pm.
Small selection, and changing rooms were temporarily closed
I’m very disappointed with this location. I just walked in and I wanted to donate two gowns and the woman there said they only take donations from 10-2; it was 2:30 when I walked in. For 30 minutes you reject a donation!? Who turns away a donation?? I’m very disappointed.
Lazy people. I tried to donate a full pickup truck worth of clothes with tags and the store was super rude. Never again. Bring your stuff elsewhere. I would rather throw it out next time than bring here.
Prices have increased since its renovation, prices are fairly reasonable. Staff are OK although I encounter rude ones every now and then. Overall presentation of the store I personally think could use more work.
Over priced, and nothing on the shelves. P.S. Goodwill, stop focusing on auctions and put items in your stores.
Complete waste of time. Overpriced junk.
This place is a joke. I called to ask if I could donate a rocker glider, they said sure just bring it around back. So the next day (my vacation day, no less) I put the chair and ottoman into the car and drove it on over. BTW the chair and ottoman were in excellent condition, solid wood, not a P.O.S. but a nice piece of furniture. So the guy around back Jason lets call him, says we cant take anything larger than an end table. So I told him about the phone conversation the day before. He said they were wrong and he got a little nasty when I asked to speak to the person who answers the phone. So I showed him the chair (just so he could see it wasnt that big) and he still was not cooperative. I told him, okay, no problem Ill bring it the the Salvation Army. Then he changed his tune and decided to take it. I mean really, it was a donation and a good one at that. Bottom line...next time donate your stuff to a organization that appreciates it, there are many out there. Goodwill, you lost me and hopefully other people who read this review.
Since the renovation, the prices have increased and the stock is pitiful. It used to be full of good things and lots of folks shopping. Now, its just depressing, definitely not going back.
This goodwill is trash. My first time going to a goodwill and not working out with atleast 1 thing. Prices are super super high for a Good will and the stuff is cheap and tacky.
I love The Goodwill franchise. I try to locate one wherever I am. There is always a good selection of vintage and modern fashion. I love everything vintage and one of a kind. I find really unusual pieces here for a bargain.
The manager, Kathy, has done much to improve the appearance of this Good Will location in Nanuet. Its inviting upon entry, better organized and neat. I also JUST discovered that there is a huge showroom of furniture in the basement!! I found exactly what I was looking for.
Everyday the prices are different on the clothing
I love the things I can find at this location! I always find something neat every time I go in!
I visit this store often. They have good things. some stuff is priced a bit high for a second hand store but if you get to take advantage of all the discounts, your good.
Useless people, I came to drop off a table for free after coordinating with them over email they would take it. After driving an hour out, I came to the store and they said they won’t take it. They were rude and useless, don’t waste ur time.
Items were way overpriced. Store is cramped and disorganized. As far as clothing goes, its all divided by color rather than size, so if you want to look for a size 8 skirt, you have to go through ALL the skirts to find the size 8s for each particular color. Of course, if you know you are looking only for a black skirt, for instance, then you can just go to the section of black skirts and go through all of them to see if theres one in your size. This place was such a disappointment when compared to the Goodwill where I used to shop in Cincinnati - it was large, brightly lit, well-organized, and clothing was divided by type (blouse, skirt, slacks) and then by sizes. Made shopping so much easier. Also, the prices at my old Goodwill were SO much lower than here.I did pick up a few non-clothing items that Im pleased with, however. If you want to return an item (for instance - an appliance that doesnt work properly) you can do so within 5 days if you have your receipt and you can only be issued store credit.Im shopping for another Goodwill!
Too much to write. Long story short, if the store closes drop off at 8pm, change the hours on the drop off door to reflect the 8pm cut off time. And not 9pm as the door states. So as to avoid being told by staff in an unprofessional manner, that drop off is closed and there’s nothing they can do to help you.
I go because it is the only good will. Its disappointing because it has very nice clothes but very expensive !! If it was just expensive I could deal with it . buy since the employs are so RUDE it is horrible. They have a trick, that if the color is green for 50% off that day, the day before they take out all the green tags and put yellow . This is no secret the empolys do this in front of the customers. Its a shame such nice clothes but horrible customer service .
This is a basic Goodwill store - slightly on the small side. The merchandise seems to cycle through on a regular basis, and if you need to outfit a small apartment from scratch this is a good place to start.
They have really affordable prices, but the store is a bit messy sometimes. Overall, it is a good store to buy from.
You can find great things here for a good price
I tried to call them and asked if they except toys, they said no, and then hung up before I could say anything else. I tried calling them back, but no one picked up.
Prices are not bad when u buy items stamp with the color of the day
Not as clean and orderly as other Good Will stores Ive visited. The store smells like a basement.
Donation hours are not listed on google maps, which is 10-2p
First and last visit here, will stick to the salvation army. One cashier with a long ass line and the prices are the same as In a regular store
Its a nice Goodwill, pretty big. They keep their stuff really well organized.
Great selection of used clothing, home goods, shoes, etc.
Dropped off donations
Great old stuff with really good prices.
Furniture department downstairs was a nice surprise.
Very organized store.
A bunch of junk with high prices, worst goodwill Ive ever been to.
Love it find good used cloths
Rude service, not helpful, and prices are high.
Gives u the impression that u are donating for a charity but they sell your goods!
Very good price!
Too expensive for used items can buy them new for less
Perfectly fine goodwill.
This is the most overpriced Goodwill I have ever been too.
Wow,my wife went ballistic, she loved the place
The remodel has done wonders for this place.
Very good
Need more cashiers
Is very good
Good prices and varied merchandise
Everything very cheap and in excellent condition
