The food is generous portions and absolutely delicious. Must try the Bottle Rock tots! Extensive drink menu, I recommend the bloody mary or the mules. It can get busy, expect a wait on the weekend (but its totally worth it).

Breakfast was delicious!!! We randomly chose this restaurant because if the name. The waffles were fluffy and not heavy. The morning cocktails were refreshing. We took teas to go which were fruity and equally refreshing.

….the young lady that was setting up the patio as we walked up this morning was a rude and “obviously” not wanting to be there. We never even had a chance to ask a question and she snapped at us, “we’re OBVIOUSLY not open” and turned around and kept setting up chairs on the patio with absolutely no regard for customer service or proper etiquette. Even from inside the restaurant she barked at us and yelled back “obviously”. Unreal. Just started our weekend here and will be sure to tell all of our friends, about 1000 or so, maybe more, to not visit or waste their time here. Good luck with that kind of service, surprising you’ve made it this far.

Our first stop on the Napa weekend, we start the day by having brunch at Jax White Mule Diner. From the minute they give us a table to the last minute this people were on top of everything, making sure they satisfied every point. Including the manager. Well done 👍, just put a host that enjoys helping people. The food was delicious; my stake and eggs was made so good that I wanted to order again. The meat was cook just right. Everyone on our group enjoy their food. We all had the same experience, cooked to perfection, hard to say that when the dish is so simple. Thank you 🙏.

This place is consistent in quality and service. The food is really good and waitresses are friendly and polite. Happy hour is everyday (including weekends) from 3pm until 9pm. I really like their breakfast options. They make their own Caesar dressing (with anchovy) that’s really good, as well.

Wow!! The loaded tots!!!! Just Wow!!! So good. We came in for breakfast. Had the Swimming Benedict which was delicious. We had a couple Irish coffees to start it off. My wife had a breakfast plate that was so much food she only could finish half of it. Highly recommend Jax! And you must get the tots loaded!!!

This place is always a hit. Its well worth the wait. We just came back again after the renovation. I thought I couldnt love this place more. I was wrong! The food is still amazing, but the new old timey lounge vibe has taken their cool points over the top. Well done, Jax. Well be back again and again.

Loved it so much we went back for a se ond breakfast. The chicken fried chicken with the mushroom gravy was the best I have ever had. I enjoyed a mango mimosa and my significant other had the breakfast burrito, also delicious!

Good, but not great. My girlfriend had the eggs benedict and the hollandaise sauce was too lemony. We also split the country fried steak and the gravy was a little too sweet. I had ordered their bottle rock tater tots but gave me the regular ones. We took it back and received the right tater tots but the cheese on top wasnt melted.

I tried the Country Benny and it was 💣💣💣.... love that gravy!! The mimosas were perfect... perfect combination of champagne and juice for sure! Got the beignets to go, so I have to update yall, but they look de-lish!!Look forward to returning and trying some of the others goodies on the menu!

I didnt eat there but I did take an order to go. Ordered the Jax Benny, was so excited about it, order name was on my box but when I got to where I was going to eat there was no poached eggs and no hollandaise sauce in my order. So I got an English muffin with just sausage on it. Also ordered the bottle rock tots. They would had been much better if the Avocado wasnt overly ripened and the cheese was evenly poprtioned. If this review was based on my order alone it would be a 1 maybe 2 star but because my familys orders were perfectly made and they didnt have complaints I feel a 3 stars is justifiable. Also be sure to take your order out of the plastic box as soon as your able if your picking up to go. It makes your food kind of soggy.

I was really looking forward to seeing Jax open again, but was quite disappointed.The wait staff was slow, I had to ask for coffee refills and they were not that busy that morning.My waffle was undercooked and served to me cold. Our friends had two different styles of Eggs Benedict which did look delicious.My previous experiences with Jax were all very good and I will give them another try. I hope that this was just one of those bad days.

JAX the Mule cafe is a fantastic, trendy restaurant in the heart of downtown Napa with amazing Ohm coffee and a great breakfast menu. The wait to be seated was only around 10 minutes. I loved the atmosphere set by the exposed Edison bulb lights and the great seating that expanded across two interior sections and a sidewalk patio for sitting small parties outdoors. The walls are filled with some cool art pieces. The staff was fantastic, very attentive, and I look forward to coming back again. The beignets are delicious and fresh and the food is exactly what I was looking for.

There is nothing more I hate then leaving a bad review because i understand being busy. Food was excellent service was sub par. Asked for an extra egg, add avocado, beignets to start with and a children’s burger. What we received was no beignets to start with they were brought over half way thru our meal. No biggie because they were delicious. Received no added egg and no avocado. Child received a regular burger not well done with avocado pickled onions and spicy aioli. (Almost wanted the burger myself) we gave them benefit of the doubt because we get the “busy” aspect of the restaurant. Oh and no waters. Received our bill to only have gratuity 20% already added to our bill, for 4 guest. Cool right??????? Not sure how to feel about this, service wasn’t so great but let me charge you what we think is fair???? Gratuity is something that Is left for your spectacular service or at least good service.

The service here is horrible. Asked for a Diet Pepsi and it took over ten minutes to receive it. It is also clear that they aren’t taking COVID seriously as they recycle paper menus between customers. Disappointing to say the least after all the good reviews we read before coming here.

Terran is awesome, a cocktail Making machine! Jay is smart and learning the ropes. Its nice to have a place a little tucked away but does absolutely draw a crowd. Keep up the great work guys.

I couldnt find too many breakfast places in Napa that opened early but luckily found this place. Its an unassuming diner downtown but the food and service are outstanding. Started with the beignets which were great then had the eggs, taters, bacon, and an omelet. All excellent. Service could not be better from the waitress and owner. Highly recommend.

Beignets are on point but they run out prior to closing. I love the remodel with the cocktail lounge area. Generally the service is awesome and the bartenders are super fun. I keep coming back because the food is good, drinks pair perfectly and the service has been great. Definitely a must try. I dont like the coffee but with Bailey, it works.

Is the food at JAX, to die for?Reading some reviews ahead of time regarding JAX, was a little concerned about going. Although the wait for a table was twice as long as estimated, it was still ok. (15 min vs 30 min)Our biggest concern was the rigor applied to maintain a safe Covid environment. The host wiped the table off with a rag. (Not the chairs or anything else) When questioned we were told that it was a sanitized cloth... it could have been the case.Wait staff was very good. When the order of JAX Benedict had solid egg yolks it was returned with no questions and even taken off the bill. Above and beyond expectations.I would have given 4 1/2 stars for our experience if but for the paranoia we developed while worrying about contracting Covid while eating there.The food and service was very good, but not worth dieing for.

Stopped to grab a beer after the women were wine tasting. Beer was good and food was great! Definitely recommend the pickle fries and the bottle rock tots.

This place is awesome - they have the best hush puppies and their chicken and waffles with citrus butter is delicious. Ive been here multiple times on a weekend for brunch - because this place is so good there can often be a wait so be prepared for that. The staff is friendly and incredibly hospitable. One visit we had a small issue with our order and it was resolved on the spot super quick. The mark of a good restaurant is not only the consistently good quality of their food and service, but also when it isnt quite as expected how it is handled and resolved. Dont miss this place the next time youre in Napa!

The chicken and waffles were mediocre but not bad. The worst thing about this place was that we sat at the bar and was completely ignored by the male bartender. We watched as he converse with a couple next to and surrounding us, even bringing out the chef to meet them. No word to us.. but the female bartender, very nice, walked over to help us. The 2 stars is for the nice female bartender.

Local diner with decent well made offerings. Very decent coffee and friendly staff. Had the country Benny. Had a side of bacon that was way overcooked and my yolks were cooked thru. Other than that it was great.

Im giving 4 stars because the food was great and the mimosa is done so well. But I expected way more in terms of service. Im not sure if the employees are trained this way but I think smiling at the customers goes a long way. In my case, the waitress seemed like she did not want to wait on us.

Everything was delicious and great. Only thing a pitcher of mimosas couple be a real picture more like a half carafe but everything was excellent. Steak was so tender and melt in your mouth delicious

Wonderful staff! It was mothers day and they made my wife and first time mother feel extra special. The couple we sat next to were very sweet and the Cherry Bomb sour cocktail was cherry-bitter-licious!!!

Food was great. We had to wait about 15 minutes to sit which was fine.I got a breakfast burrito which comes with salsa. The salsa was tiny which was barely enough for half of my burrito. I asked for another salsa and they said they had to charge me a dollar for more. That is ridiculous. Will never come here again. Dont advertise that salsa comes with something, then barely give enough for what youre eating. Thanks.

Where we ended up getting breakfast. Super last minute. I hate being that guy, but we needed to eat eggs. It was a potential day ruiner... But these guys pulled me out of the fire. Saved the day. And the bignettes (Im not even going to try to spell it)were phenomenal.

Loaded tater tots are intense, and definitely recommend it. Definitely brings the rating up here. Tots fried well and the toppings are generous. For entrees though, seems pretty standard among other breakfast diners in the city, but that just means that Napa has great breakfast food. The chicken and waffles are good, with the chicken being the better half. Nothing too crazy about the waffle and doesnt compliment the chicken THAT much in my opinion.The ambience of the diner is casual and feels nice to eat in. The staff is very sweet and offer honest opinions about items on the menu, so I really appreciate that.
