If I could rate Javco 0 stars I would.Based on my experience with them they clearly lack positive customer service skills. I previously had an appointment with David who came to my home and took measurements and said he would be get back to me later that week with a complete quote. Over a month passed and still no word from Javco. I called them and spoke with a young lady that told me David would be giving me a call later on that day. No return call.Today I called and spoke with Kelly. I explained the situation and their lackadaisical approach with customer service. Kelly took immediate personal offense to the conservation. I explained to her my experience with the company has been one way with no follow up information from Javco. At that point she raised her voice, told me there was no info on my appointment with David and he would call me later.I was able to get her name before she hung up before I could continue the conversation and calm her down.It would be nice if an owner could respond to this post, but if their staff is as rude as Kelly was then I should not expect a response.
Needed some glass for a wall clock and they did it the same day...wonderful staff and service!
Was Extremely happy with my experience with Javco, from the estimate, the ordering process to the installation. VERY Professional. I would highly recommend them. The door that was installed is Beautiful and High quality. Thanks Javco!
Premium prices, mediocre work. Nuff said. ( Edit) I have been asked to elaborate, so here goes: The appointment was for 11:30, and I had scheduled my work to accommodate that time. Well, the truck pulls up at 10:15, and these guys jump out ready to work. I was not prepared for them (I erroneously thought they were reliable in their schedules), so I asked them why they were so early. They had the time, they said, and it was convenient for them. I retorted, And I guess other peoples time isnt important, as long as it is convenient for you. No reply. The older one instead strode across my living room toward the window, ready to get it done. STOP! I yelled, from atop the ladder on which I was painting the ceiling. Paint, drop cloths, rollers, etc. were scattered around, and this guy seemed oblivious to the mess (which would have been cleaned up by 11:30, but again...) Also, my German Shepard was going nuts with these two strangers in my house. She would have been put in her pen by 11:30, but, you know, convenient time and all. Anyway, I scrambled to prepare the window area for them, secured my dog, and moved things around so they would not step in a paint can or something. The two set to work, with the youngster doing most of it with the older guy as back-up. The youngster seemed to be the brains of the outfit, so I talked mainly to him. At one point he finally offered an apology of sorts by saying, I guess we should have called first. Yeah, ya think? One of the other jobs was to replace a broken piece of glass in a stereo cabinet, which they did free of charge. Only problem: after I showed the older one (the one doing the repair) the broken frame piece, he installed the glass without it, saying he put silicone there because the frame piece was missing. No it isnt. Its right here, as I handed it to him. Remember? I showed you. I tried to pay with the card. We want cash. I dont have it, so the youngster rubbed my card by hand for the record. No receipt. I finally had to physically go down to the shop a few weeks later to get a receipt, since no one managed to mail me one. As to the mediocre workmanship? The screen is not a good fit. I called them, got an operator. She told me that Milgard has to replace it--Javco will charge if they do it. Why am I not surprised? The outside frame is a little amateurish, but my neighbor, who is a contractor, will make it right when the weather gets better and he gets the time. I will hire him when I am ready to remodel my front windows next year. He is cheaper and more thorough; a real professional. So lesson learned: hire someone who respects clients schedules, will not do a rush job, and has their heads on their shoulders. (Sorry about that abysmal subject-verb tense agreement switch in that last sentence.)
We have been replacing windows in our 35 year old home in increments for the past 4 years. Last year (2013) 2 of our windows were not measured correctly causing an 10 week delay before the replacements ordered were installed and the project completed. This year we placed our order for additional windows to be replaced in early July. The trim on 3 of the windows needed to be painted brown because of their placement. This caused a 12 week delay. The first group of windows were brought September 4, 2014. We learned then the 3 windows that needed to be painted were not on the installation truck because they hadnt been painted. In addition 2 trim to finish another window was not available and window caulk had run out so some of the exterior windows were left uncaulked. Javco came back on Oct 20 to install the 3 painted windows with one personel when 2 were needed. The 2 trim for one window looks like it has been in a garbage can somewhere as it has water stains on it plus it is an entirely different finish on it compared to all the previous trim Javco has used in the house. And caulking couldnt be completed again because it had rained.Repeated telephone calls trying to have the windows placed on Javcos scheduling was not sucessful because Tina and Jason were both out of the office for a week leaving no one in charge. As of today the earliest our replacement can be completed is November 7.When we placed our window order in July we were demanded to pay 50% of the costs. This is against the Contractors State Licensing Board which states only 10% or $1000.00 which ever is less can be asked of the consumer.
