Cant say enough about this Deli. Delicious food and greatly missed. Downtown Chicago had many delis once upon a time. So glad we made the trip. We also found out they are moving, though not far from this location. Just around the corner on Ogden. Looks like their own free-standing building.

My partner and I come to Schmaltz about once every two weeks. The food is absolutely delicious and we can sense the pride and passion in every single bite. Tried this place out for the first time today, and let me tell you was I missing out! Tried the Sloppy Paul, overstuffed with both the beef and pastrami, and as the young man at the counter said ‘you’re doing it right’ boy was he telling the truth. That Rueben sandwich was the best I have ever had in my life. Just the right amount of everything! Absolutely worth every penny, will definitely be coming back for more! Thank you Schmaltz Deli!

Ordered for pickup. Got there 10mins after pickup time given via their website. Waited at the pickup (where the sign says pickup online orders) counter for 15mins before anyone acknowledged me. My order was sitting behind the counter. Guy at register could’ve just turned slightly to his right, ask for my name and hand me my order but looked past me and continued to take incoming customers. Pricey Cold bagels and soggy sandwiches. Unfortunately, Quality of food and service has gone downhill.

Maybe Im spoiled by the places Ive been downtown Chicago or even the places Ive been in New York but I cant validate spending $13.00 for a sandwich with 1/2 the meat taken out.I can get a mile high in the loop for $13 or a pastrami with chips and a drink on the upper west for $12. Why am I paying a premium because I visited Naperville?And I get that I paid for the 1/2 stuffed but with the amount I paid I shouldnt have 1/3 of my sandwich end up being a vegetarian sandwich of cold cheese, sauerkraut, and dressing.The ball of meat in the center of my sandwich was good though.

Everything here is extremely good, its similar to Max and Bennys in the northern suburbs, different, but similar in quality. Its pricey but when you get the food you realize its justified.

Fathers Day gift. I went to Schmaltzs Deli yesterday morning for brunch with two of my kids. After ordering our food, the gentleman running the register took a credit card out of his own wallet and paid for our food. I wasnt exactly sure what he was doing, but when I presented my credit card, he simply said Happy Fathers Day. It was such a kind gesture and made my day. As for the food it was excellent. My two teens had the French toast and they both agreed that it was the best that theyve ever had. Ive always liked Schmaltzs...now I love it.

Wonderful little family restaurant! Friendly staff, clean and fun dining area inside and a few picnic style tables outside as well. Good food. Asked for the biggest, meatiest sammich they had. Great sammich but for the 23$ I was expecting more. Most of their sammichs and dog are between 7$ and 14$ Would definitely go back next time Im in town.

Served me cold soup. server said she forgot to micro it. pickles out of a bottle and tasteless. server said that they dont have ice for the water. then when i went to the counter and asked another one, she got some ice. place is dirty and few customers there. food was lousy. stay away. . its expensive as well.

Hidden gem!! This a Jewish deli/ cafe. Fairly new. I have not tried the sandwiches yet but they look amazing and healthy. They have a quick breakfast and fresh baked dessert delicacies such as cheesecake and cookie bites. They have lox salad and breakfast sandwich. YUMM! People are so nice here and I feel welcomed to come back to this location. Unbeatable price.

I came in today for the first time on lunch break. I was tired and hungry from working in construction. The staff were very friendly and welcoming to someone new and when i completed my $20 order the cashier gave me quite the shock when he pulled out his credit card and payed for my meal. The corned beef and pastrami was huge and very delicious. 5/5 would recommend to anyone

First time I’ve been in was today (I’ve had it once a year when family picks it up), Brandon was absolutely amazing. Worked out the best way to make my sandwich, stepped in and payed for my order. I will 100% be back, I’ve never met someone so gracious that loves his job as much as Brandon does. Give the man a raise!

Awesome. A real Jewish deli, really!! Amazing bagels, I had the Lox sandwich on an everything bagel, Schmear of cream cheese which was oozing out, with fresh Lox. Yummm. Friend had a pastrami and corned beef on rye, overstuffed, like a NY sandwich. He loved it. Pickles, good!! Bubbies cheesecake is for real, real ingredients and real good. Do-over!!!

Quick service even with a line. Great selection of sandwiches and soups. Great portions as a half stuffed was more than enough. I picked up a wall street and will return to try other selections on the menu!

Our first visit here. I had the 14, pastrami on marble rye with Russian dressing and sour kraut. Its was fantastic the pastrami was cooked perfectly and the bread was perfect. My wife had a number 1, pastrami on challah bread with spicy mustard which she enjoyed. We also split a cup of their matzo ball soup. Overall I give them 5 stars and recommend eating here.

A legit deli. Busy at 130p on a SaturdayI had a seriously good Ruben sandwich made properly. Tender corned beef, real kraut, marble rye bread. Sit down or take out, delivery avail. This place has a reputation that precedes it. The rep. is well deserved. This a cream of the crop deli.

Theyre trying to copy Mannys Deli from Chicago and theyre not in the same league! Same league? Theyre not in the same atmosphere! Waited 21 minutes to get a corn beef on rye with mustard. Mannys would of served me ten times faster!

This is hands down one of my favorite places. Just consistently great food. Great atmosphere, great people, great price for the amount of food you get. Most of the time it becomes two meals for me. Just heard they are moving locations into a bigger space. Long overdue but excited to visit the new space.

I read some lower reviews and I have to admit, what they said, was true. My sandwich was dry and you can really see that in the picture. I’ve had corn beef in a lot of different places and most notably, Katz’ Delicatessen in NYC and so their corn beef is the good standard by which all other delicatessens are graded. It simply felt overrated. I will say, the staff is definitely friendly and that is why I’m giving them two stars.They also have Junior’s Cheesecake “imported” from Brooklyn, NY and as a native NYer, Juniors is quite a rip-off.

It is hands down the best deli in the Naperville area. Havent been back there in a while and the quality of the food remains outstanding. The half loaded sandwiches are plenty big and will satisfy any hunger ... feeling adventurous... try the fully loaded 😁

Went here with my husband when we had first started dating as I had never been. Place was packed and the choice for what to eat was hard with so many awesome options... the staff was friendly answering questions and helping with suggestions as needed. When I finally decided we found a booth and enjoyed our meal on the spot. After that I was hooked and we made our way over every few months when our schedules allowed.Highly recommend as they seem to have something for every taste.

We had made a catering ordering we prepaid for, $150. Went to pick it up and was told to stand in line - 35 minutes later the same rude lady brought our order to us with the same poor attitude she told us to stand in line with. Note to management - figure out a pick up line especially when it’s prepaid. Just imagine how many more sales you’ll make.PS. The catering manager was just as good as the food, outstanding. Service needs to be upgraded and everyone will win.

The prices are a bit high but, the portions are so big that its more than worth the cost. The fresh pastrami is amazing and they add a big kosher pickle and bagel chips for every order. If you want to save a few bucks, order the half-stuffed and youll still be struggling to finish the sandwich.

I cant say enough great stuff about Schmaltz. We stopped here our first time probably two years ago while out looking for apartments to rent and I really wish we would have rented locally to them. The matzo ball soup is good, the sandwiches are great and the beagle chips are awesome. Staff is friendly but fair warning be ready with your order they want it fast and they want you to know how you want it. I cant wait until the next time Im in the area to order to go!

This used to be a gem of a place but no more. Matzo soup flavorless, inedible. Sandwiches used to be generous & now skimpy. Overpriced & truly terrible food. Very sad as it used to be a favorite but will never go again.

It can definitely get a little pricey if you’re ordering the full meals, but it’s absolutely worth the cost. The sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever had. I almost always get the Reuben, and would entirely recommend it. It has a great atmosphere, and I hope to eat inside there again once I feel comfortable eating inside. The schmookies are also really good, as are the potato pancakes.

Wanted a tuna bagel sandwich but they just had to go tuna on wheat. Heard great things about their bagels, so got one on the side and transferred it over to the bagel. Awesome bagel, the tuna was yummy. My son ordered the Italian torpedo, very expensive, but a huge sandwich, which he thought was also yummy😋Will definitely go back for their bagels, very fluffy, crusty and light!

Id give this a 4.5. Bagels had nice crust and chew. Latkes were huge, thick and delicious. Also bought a beautiful marble rye loaf of bread and some corned beef and pastrami. The is stand-out awesome, just a bit pricey. Loved it.

A Jewish deli is hard to find out here, but one this good is a treasure. The sandwich counter has a vast menu of yummy deli choices with bread options and lots of sides. The sandwiches are huge and easily shareable, but you wont want to. The Reuben and pastrami are amazing, but Id love to tour this menu again. My toddler loves the cookies and the pickle spears. Highly recommend. We will be back! 🤤🤗😋

Schmaltz has been a favorite of ours for a few years now. Their everything bagel is EVERYTHING. Packed full of goodness on both sides. Atmosphere is authentic and fun. Love the crew there.

Stopped in for lunch after calling and making sure they were offering dine in service. Menu says all sandwiches served with bagel chips and pickle. When sandwiches came, no bagel chips. When I inquired, was told that even though the menu board said it, they were not doing it. Counter staff seemed disinterested and almost bothered by customers coming in.Food was good. They are operating with a limited food and drink menu which is understandable, so if you are looking for something specific, you might want to call ahead.

It’s expensive but tasty. I always get the over stuffed sloppy Paul which is their Ruben sandwich. It sometimes seems to vary how much meat they put in there but I always get the over stuffed and then have some leftovers.

This place is THE BEST!! I honestly come here all the time for lunch and bagels. Every single thing on their menu is delicious, they get it right EVERY TIME. The food is great here. Service in the mornings is slow but the quality of the breakfast options especially the bagels more than makes up for it. Sandwiches at lunch time are delicious and enormous. At lunch the workers make a fun environment.

Amazingly delicious! The TEAM is very welcoming and friendly! So many delicious items to choose from. The specials are a must to be savored, get them before they are gone! Wish I could give them 10 stars!
