I hurt my back standing up, It knocked me to my knees in pain. Immediate care gave me pills that didnt help my throbbing and muscle spasms. The ER injected me with more meds. I had a GREAT experience at The Emperors Medicine. When I just arrived to their clinic, I was on crutches from a wrestling ankle injury. They helped me get back on my feet within days which is something that is very hard to do! With their services I was able to go on and win my state wrestling championship. 10/10 would recommend!! I was diagnosed with hypothyroid and wanted to relieve my symptoms naturally. I searched for a functional medicine doctor on line and found Doctor Selma at The Emperors Medicine.. Thanks to Doctor Selma’s knowledge, I no longer suffer with constant fatigue, weight gain, and severe muscle cramps. I feel much better and no longer have to worry about falling asleep while driving. The clinic is peaceful, with calming energy. I don’t understand where these one star ratings are coming from. These people obviously have never been a patient of Dr. Selma. I came to the Emperors Medicine because I was having some health issues and wasnt getting the answers or help I needed from the neurologist I was seeing. Dr. Selma and Dr. Gary were very helpful in explaining to me what the neurologist didnt. They were also very caring and compassionate, which was something else I wasnt getting from the neurology clinic. Theyve done everything in their power to help me and help improve my health. They are definitely a Godsend and I would recommend them to anyone who has health issues and want to combat them naturally. It also gave me a new outlook on the food I put into my body and how it affects my body. I was able to lose 40-50 lbs in about 4-5 months that I was having the hardest time getting off no matter what I tried. Lauren has also been a great help to me through this entire ordeal. Allopathic doctors do not have all the answers and are too quick to prescribe drugs, not digging deeper into your concerns, because they do not have the time. Dr. Selma listens and together you come up with a treatment plan. If you have not tried alternative medicine it is definitely worth investigating. i am a pleased patient.

I had been visiting the emperor’s medicine long before I ever needed acupuncture. Several years back I went to a wonderful health fair at the Naperville clinic that was most informative and I made several contacts that I am still friends with today! About a year after that time, I required knee surgery but was not able to schedule the surgery for six months. Those months I was forced to wait on my surgery where excruciatingly painful! I called Dr. Selma and scheduled an appointment, only the single best decision I’ve ever made! I could’ve never made it to my surgery date had it not been for all of the assistance and great service I received at this wonderful clinic! I brought my wife to Dr. Selma when she was suffering from unbearable shoulder and back pain. She actually had a frozen shoulder which Dr. Selma corrected. She is currently doing PT exercises to strengthen the shoulder, but we are so thankful to Dr. Selma for making the exercise phase possible. Sara had previously seen many doctors including chiropractors who would make her feel better temporarily but they never corrected the root cause. As for me, I had severe arm and back pain from years of construction and she corrected all of my problems as well. Now I can wear my wedding ring again without pain, and have as close to a full range of motion in my arms and back as I did many years ago. THANK YOU DR. SELMA!!!

Dr. Selma is the best

I have been seeing Selma at the Emperors Medicine for about 5 years now. She is a wonderful clinician -- knowledgeable and friendly. With Selmas help I have seen my chronic pain and inflammation reduced. Additionally, Selma has helped me reduce the need for medication for my sinus congestion. I could go on and on but suffice it to say, Selma and the Emperors Medicine have made a big difference in my life.

I have tried two previous acupuncturists in an effort to get relief from my autoimmune system issues. Although I had limited success with the last clinic it wasnt enough relief to continue with them. A friend recommended Selma Gladney ( my friend also suffers from autoimmune disorders) . I had severe low back, hip, leg and foot pain from 2 herniated discs between L4/L5 and L5/S1. Dr. Gladney used acupuncture to treat these areas and with appointment I continued to improve. This treatment coupled with focused yoga poses, stretching and breathing exercises lead by Aarti Jha contributed to my recovery. I did not think it was possible to recover from my injuries but I went from a 7 out of 10 to no pain at all. I recommend Emperors Medicine to anyone suffering from pain.

I was new to the Aurora/Naperville area when I found Selma online. She is knowledgeable, skilled, and a great listener. She has helped to pinpoint the source of my pain and direct me on a path towards healing. I also highly recommend her in-house Massage Therapist, Roberta! I am very particular about my massages and massage experience, and can state that Roberta has given me the best ones I have ever had. Ive tried everything from deep tissue/Swedish to Reiki to a foot scrub. All are highly recommended! She has great technique, and leaves me feeling better, peaceful, and healthier. I am beyond pleased with the acupuncture services received at the Emperor’s Medicine. I went in feeling pain and tightness in my calves which amplifies my plantar fasciitis. In one treatment I felt a difference; second treatment made my calves even less tight. It has certainly helped decrease the pain I’ve been feeling in my feet!This is my first week of taking the special supplements. I have to admit, they’re working.
