Staff are super friendly helpful and talkative. You feel right at home as soon as you enter with a very wide selection of not only liquor but wine and beer too. Although, sad to say I did not detect the presence of a cat in the store, so I am sad to say I cannot confirm nor deny that the store lives up to its name. Haha

If I could give this store 0 stars I would - just don’t go. The employees are very rude. I’m glad I left without a purchase, because it highlighted the fact that it’s also much more expensive than other nearby stores.

Bourbon connasour. They have your standard spirits.But can educate you on the good Whisky and bourbon. So when you do invest in a high dollar spirit, you taste that extra smoothness and finish. They also have several Mr Whisker labels distilled by the popular distilleries.

Fabulous whiskey selection. They even give senior discounts. Staff really nice.

This place has great selection and the staff is super friendly and helpful. The only reason I docked a star was because all too often I go in there, find an amazing beer, wine, whatever, then go to buy it again, and they dont have it for several months, which is very disappointing. I love how diverse they make their selection. I just wish they would be more on top of their inventory

My wife went here to shop for an entire selection of alcohol for our wedding reception, and had a customer service experience that was so negative that she is still thinking about it a month later. The store has two employees that are more focused on criticizing your purchase than on being helpful. First, an employee with a white beard told her he’s not the “wine guy” like she was supposed to know exactly who to ask. He chuckled in her face like this was so obvious he wasn’t the wine guy. Then he belittled her wine choices and said up and down that this wine company didn’t make the flavors requested, while also not offering any suggestions for an alternative. They later ran into an employee with an Australian accent who was more focused on saying why she shouldn’t be getting married and how awful marriage is then on being helpful in finding choices for the party. Both employees together had great fun giving her a hard time about how marriage is terrible and she was making a mistake. It made her feel awkward and uncomfortable completely unnecessarily for what is supposed to be a joyous event for buying alcohol. Do not come this store expecting kind customer service.

This is the place to buy your whiskey in Nashville. Great selection of regular bourbon bottles plus plenty of single barrel offerings. They also have a large selection of scotch as well as plenty of high-dollar, hard to come by bottles.

Price gouging! You go in the store one day to buy a bottle and the next the price is up $10. And for a good customer too. Youd think these geniuses would be smart enough to match the price FROM THE DAY BEFORE to keep a customer. Nope. Disappointed.

I went here seeking a certain brand of wine. The 1st cashier was new and she didnt have the knowledge of wines. Stephen, the GM assisted some, until I mentioned I write reviews on businesses I frequent. Stephens demeanor changed, but it wasnt genuine.Perhaps, customer service will improve after this review.

Help staff great inventory

Came in for eggnog before Christmas. Trent was the clerk checking me out. Very rude. Spoke to another clerk while I was in front of him the whole time, and after handing me my receipt didn’t even say thank you. They also jacked up their eggnog prices. Eggnog is never this expensive.

I was very surprised. This place had an extensive collection of wines, bourbons and liquors. If you are looking for something different than your normal liquor store, this is the place to find it.

Great place. Awesome tap selection for local craft beers. Good selection of cans and wines. They figured out whiskey was popular and marked it up l Ill ke crazy. They have some really nice folks eager to help. They also have some that know more about bourbon than you ever will. Dont worry, you wont have to confirm that. If you want a hard to find bottle marked up 1000%, this is your place. Used to be a great local bottle shop. Now its a good one that jumped the shark.

The most exciting selection of beers I’ve found. Always something new and stuff you won’t find anywhere else. They have some “ordinary” beers too, but they’re a bit overpriced so get those elsewhere. But if you want to try something different and new, this is your place. There are some knowledgeable people on staff who can help with recommendations. Bonus- A freezer full of Coco’s pizzas and pastas to go! What else do you need?

The selection is incredible here. The pricing is a little high but they have great highly allocated whiskeys like Whistle Pig and the Pappy lineup. Overall a one stop booze shop except for a few types of bitters and various ingredients.

Edit: I bought a bottle of rum from them a couple days ago and when I opened it the cork disintegrated into the bottle, as well as broke off. The cork also left a curious slime around the edges of the bottle opening. I figured Id take it back and get the defective product returned. It was honestly cheap rum, but that doesnt mean Im going to drink powdered cork and strange slime in a cocktail.They refused to refund or credit primarily because they said the product was on closeout. I told them I got the product from the regular shelf and that it was not labeled closeout. They pointed to a separate shelf where they had some of the same product labeled closeout today. Okay.. but it wasnt labeled that on the shelf where I got it, and why would I assume that closeouts came with a buyer beware policy?Of course, they will continue to sell the defective product to customers, on closeout.Fortunately there are plenty of competitors in the area to take my business to.Ill leave this review at two stars as the selection is good and the staff is friendly. Just be aware of the buyer beware policy.

Called and asked the price of crown. Was told $46 or $49 and drove there and it was $58. Total waste of time and it was overpriced.

Mr. Whiskers feels like family. Their recommendations have always been dead on when I describe a taste I am after, and whatever your budget they have something. If it’s a splurge night they’ve got you covered; if you’re needing to stay on the lower end budget-wise that is fine too and they always have a great recommendation. There’s always laughing when talking to the people who work there- I LOVE Mr. Whiskers!!

Good selection and generally good prices. Absolutely ridiculous pricing on anything Buffalo Trace though, so be aware of that. Otherwise, its a good spot.

The employee that helped us with our wine choices was EXTREMELY helpful. He was very knowledgeable about the wines. Everything he said about them was true and really enhanced our Christmas meals. The front end staff that checked us out was friendly and professional.. This is a quality liquor store. I will happy continue to use this store.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to Mr. Whiskers regularly since 2017. Always had a generally good experience except this last time where he left his wallet at home (he is 5 years older than me at 30 years of age) and they would not let us purchase the ingredients we needed for our sangria. We had over $300 of groceries in the car, were exhausted, and I then had to take him home, unload, get back in the car and go somewhere else. Totally understand the “let me see both of your ID’s thing” in terms of going to the liquor store to prove eligibility, but it is absolutely not a widespread practice, and one that this store must have just started. I suddenly wasn’t looked at or treated like a regular over this issue, and was made to feel like a stranger to someone I see really regularly.I’m seeing new faces around and changes that make me feel like it’s not a neighborhood store anymore. The Hillwood Liquor Store down the street closed, so I’ll have to make my way down to Wendell’s on Charlotte Pike now - oh well, they’re CHEAPER and still have that warm vibe that other places are bull dozing.

This place is phenomenal. Theyve never failed me using their recommendations for wine and when Ive talked to them about beer they really know their stuff and listen to their customers. They stocked some stuff that doesnt usually come to the state because they went to a brewers convention the last time I bought a lot of beer. Theyve got their fingers in the pulse of the industry.

Im from outta town, and Im writing this before leaving the lot.First off, the selection here is phenomenal. Absolutely incredible.Second, all three staffers I saw were friendly like I was family, and before leaving with my go to bottle of Basil Hayden, I got recommended something new after talking a few minutes about my adventures into bourbon coming from scotch.If nothing else, this place has made Nashville awesome to me.

In regard to whiskey/scotch/bourbonPros- great selection and good serviceCons- severely overpriced. They blame the mark ups on “the internet” (literally the excuse they gave for a bottle being marked up from 50 to 250$) However they are the ones knowingly charging dramatically over MSRP to increase profit margins.Overall I shop elsewhere as I do not support this model of preying on ones customers.

Overpriced & opportunistic. Many other options in the area with better prices. While service is good, they will take advantage for particular requests. I inquired about a particular bourbon and they charged me 2x the price for a bottle 1/2 the size that I got elsewhere a week later. I was ok with it as it is limited but look around. Better options out there.

Lots of local beer, big wine selection. Also. Cheese and meats, and a frozen section of a local Italian restaurant- cocos off of Charlotte. So if you are having a party or gathering, there is more than just alcohol here.

Convenient to all of West Nashville. Good, not great, wine selection and reasonable pricing. Staff has a couple of folks whove been around for decades, and get to know their regulars.
