Tight squeeze in some areas but packed full of great titles & wonderful vintage finds. Mask required. Everything is labeled really well so you can get in & quickly find what youre looking for. I recommend going during the weekdays as weekends are very crowded.

Fantastic staff and a wide variety of records. Fair prices and an old-school record shop feel. This place has been here forever and it is clear why it has survived the ebbs and flows of vinyl popularity.

I’ve been to maybe seven or eight record stores in Nashville and Phonoluxe is by far my favorite. They’ve got a healthy mix of 180-gram represses and lightly-worn oddities, TV show anthologies and kung-fu flicks, record players and record cleaners. The employees are helpful and friendly to boot.

Always one of my favorite record and cd stores in Nashville. The prices of vinyl have gone up. I found a really cool record there once by Jamiroquai. Great selection of new records but I tend to spend too much sometimes. I always like to look at the flyers in the window! Those have gotten to be quite an expensive cost??????? Very professional looking.

Was in Nashville and decided to check out Phonoluxe for the second consecutive visit. Bought a few albums last time I was in town from them. This time I bought 3 albums. 2 sealed 1 used. Got them home (2.5 hours from Nashville) and 1 of the sealed albums was badly warped (no fault of Phonoluxe). I called the store the next day and discussed the issue and was informed they could not order another and I knew this to be true already as the album was limited to 1000 pressings. I let them know I saw the same album in their newest arrivals used bin and after being put on a short hold to check, they got my address and shipped it out to me. I received the album super quick and have since played the album to find it is good to go. They even included a return shipping label for the damaged album which I gladly have sent back so they can inform the distributor. Overall, this group (especially Scott in this instance) stood behind their customer with top notched support. I will definitely be back and will thank them personally for being a stand up company. Scott even included a note apologizing for the inconvenience but with customer support like this it is no inconvenience at all. I have been to a few other record stores in that area and this one is priced fair and keeps the nonsense politics away from their store. Very much appreciated and will visit again in the near future

First time visitor. Found lots of good stuff at prices comparable to what Ive seen with various sellers online. As with all record stores, I found plenty of stuff I didnt know I needed. The service was great and I will definitely be back again.

The staff are so helpful and they have a large selection of dvds, phonograph records and some memorabilia. Alot of the older phonograph records are hard to find. I w recommend this place to anyone!

As an avid vinyl collector, I’d say this is one of the two best places in the city for collectible albums (the other being The Great Escape on Charlotte, not the one in Madison). Fair prices and some rare finds over the years. I first started coming in the 90’s and couldn’t wait to her back on my return to Nash. Staff are friendly. It’s a little cramped in there but hey... deal with it. The selection they have is worth it!

Pretty cool place!! Theyve got a Fantastic selection, great prices, as well as very friendly knowledgeable staff. Theyve got lots of Cds, movies, vintage style t-shirts, and a Giant selection of Albums. I didnt have time to really look at everything they have to offer but Ill definitely be going back when I have more free time. Its just one more example of the authentic Mom and Pops type store thats usually found in small towns that makes Nashville so Amazing to live in.

Amazing store and the staff were friendly and very helpful and knowledgeable people.The store has a huge inventory of music and movies, records, you name it. It was also my 1st time there and im impressed. I will be coming back soon for sure.I was told that this store has been open for business for 33 years. They will have another customer in me from now on.

Fantastic music store packed with new and used vinyl and a large number of cds. Store is well organized by type and genre with new arrivals separated for the repeat customer. A lot of oddities, rare pressings, and other gems for the hardcore music buyer. I found 4 Bowie pressings that I didnt have, and my collection is pretty thorough. One of the few places in Nashville with a good selection of metal albums. Something for every music listener.

Best Vinyl Store in the Nashville area. Ive been to about 5 record stores in Nashville and this one hands down is the winner. Great used selection, prices that sometimes feel like a deal, or otherwise fair (which is almost as good as you can expect). I was mainly in the jazz, blues and country sections, and those sections are extensive. There seemed to be a split for each section where you had the lower value records, and higher value in sleeves. This made it a little more difficult to hit all the sections, but if you weave your way through the aisles, youll get to all the goodies.

Great selection, solid prices, and engaging people. If you like music, I strongly encourage you to visit.

They have a huge, diverse selection and their prices really reflect the condition of the records. They also went out of their way to help me locate something I was hoping they had. I obviously havent been to every record store in the United States, but Ive been to a lot of them, and can say with certainty that this one is my favorite.

Great selection, and well organized even though it is packed to the point of being overwhelming the first time. Excellent service.Unfortunately, they apparently dont listen to the albums before pricing them, although visually all were clean. They do have a turntable set up that you can use. We should have, because a few expensive used albums were not good pressings and are going into the trade-in stack (some were excellent.) It hurts to pay $40 for an album that isnt listenable, and cant be returned as a new one could (or can they?). Our fault for not allowing enough time to listen to all the ones we bought (or at least the over $20 ones.) Or we could have bought fewer so we had time. Or.... They could listen and audibly grade the unsealed records that they charge a premium for. Some online retailers reliably do this, and it avoids disappointment and wasted money. In summary, we will be back. But will buy fewer and listen to all unsealed ones.

$1 - $20 dollar t- shirts. Not bad prices for used cds and albums. If youre looking to make money selling your music here, dont bother. Unless youre desperate for a couple of dollars. No black metal selection of any kind. Nice time killer if you like thumbing through music though.

Love this place.

Great place to browse and search for music and music related merchandise. Proprietors are not pushy and will gladly help when asked. Prices are on par with other similar stores and occasionally you will find a diamond in the rough.

Love this place. The staff is very knowledgeable. Its quite a bit more expensive than the other record shops I used to shop at before moving to Nashville (cant speak in comparison to Nashville) but you will come across a lot more albums worth collecting here. So you pay a bit of a premium for all the work the shop does to find lots of quality vinyl, but I think its worth it.

A very crowded but organized store crammed full of albums, CDs, DVDs, and more. Old or new you just might find it, whether obscure or mainstream. Reasonable prices and helpful staff.

Great shop especially for box sets, cassettes and CDs. Lots of collectible and relatively rare stuff. The staff isn’t as knowledgeable as I had hoped but they’re all kind, attentive and super-friendly.

Phonoluxe Records is a Nashville treasure. Its like the Rolling Stones of used music stores having been in the same location for over 30 years. Their staff is THE MOST knowledgable in the Music City and its the place to go if you are looking for that obscure title no one else in town has for sale. It literally has something for EVERYONE. Jeff, Bill, Danny are all great folks and adding Scott and Tammy in recent times just upped the level of an already great staff. BTW the guy with the British accent is Mike the owner and hes one of the nicest and coolest people in town! Also he is THE authority on collectible 45s and vinyl in general. 10 STARS! (I can only give you 5).

Ive been a fan and customer of Phonoluxe for 12-13 years. Their prices have always been reasonable and they have always had a great collection, especially in classic R&B. Their prices have risen recently, but that can be accredited to the rise of sell in vinyl over the years. Drop in from time to time and you will find treasures. Theyve definitely added to my Reggae and R&B collections.

Literally just left. The ABSOLUTE most rude gentleman Ive ever dealt with in sales. Browsed for a second or two, asked to use the restroom, (drove for 40 or so minutes to visit the establishment, drinking coffee. Guilty) and the gentleman ignored me, walked away, and said in a very smart tone ugh. You gotta follow me blah blah. And STOOD NEXT TO THE BATHROOM whilst in use. Crazy. Yeah, I did immediately see some things upon entry that I was gonna buy, and have wanted. Yeah, I believe in the support of local business. My Santa Claus receipts will show so... but this place, no bueno. Ill search online for my obscure purchases next time. Kudos.

The guys who work there are extremely nice and helpful, as I was looking for a specific record for my friend. However, since it was so close to the December holidays they were a little wiped out of a lot of music, so they didnt have what I was looking for but, I found so many other records and CDs that I just love. I walked out of there with five records. And they are extremely affordable too. Like, way less than you think old records would be. If we removed the DVDs and CDs, it would feel like a record store from the 60s. And I just love that!

Phonolux is the best used CD and record shop in Nashville. I love it there, the quality of the product is usually very good and they give you a fair trade amount for your used stuff. Mostly CD and Vinyl music available, but also DVD and blu-ray a plenty as well. The service is great with the regular employees, but the only criticism I have is the owner is not very friendly. I have been going there for as long as they have been open and he has never been kind to me or seemed to appreciate the quality and volume of my trade-in product. All the other employees seem genuinely appreciative though. Other than that, this place is the BEST!
