Small neighbors market. They do have hot serve station to go as well. A little bit of everything for such a small place. If you need something in a pinch to make a respectable dinner or a BBQ they have it.

I came here on a recommendation by a co-worker who claimed Big Ben Market had the best tacos he has ever had. So naturally I had to check this claim out.Well, the tacos werent the best I had, but they were pretty good. Actually, they tasted better simply because the cashier that greeted me suggest I get the happy hour tacos (street tacos) which would only cost me a dollar a piece so instead of buying 2, I bought four and it was worth it.The store is very small, but they have a really well stocked produce section in the middle of the store. The place was clean, didnt smell foul, and it felt nice and quaint.The part I enjoyed learning is that the food served at the restaurant next store is actually a lot of the same food that the market sells so that made me feel better about possibly shopping here in the future

Great mom and pop style market with all the essentials one can need.

Im not sure about Big Ben market but behind the store are water vending machines where it will give you a gallon of water for only 15 cents.

It’s a small, quaint local grocery store that has fresh veggies, butcher shop, and restaurant inside. I have bought some stuff that could be cheaper at a bigger store but I rather pay a little more to not have to find parking at a corporate store. Parking is diagonal and there’s usually parking available. I went to buy veggies and everything looked cleaned and maintained. Spanish-speaking. Masks required. I will take pics next time I go. Will be going back!

Small, personable store with variety of fresh produce, fresh meat and good selection of sodas and snacks. They have great shrimp ceviche, delicious fish tacos and tasty rotisserie chicken .

Seems like a decent market in terms of being able to purchase a variety of items almost like what we call a bodega back home. However, service was unacceptable. I stood at the liquor area counter for a while after acknowledging at least 1 employee. After helping the customers that were in the checkout line the employee did ask if needed assistance to which I replied that I did need assistance. I heard people talking in the room behind the counter I was waiting and she said something to them and shortly after a man walked out walked past me said nothing and went over to the meat counter and said something. I thought he was gonna come right back to assist me and didnt but was over chatting with another employee at the meat counter so I left.

I had been to unload a commercial truck with groceries right to this one big Ben market here in our national City and they never paid anything. And we almost got the feel he would be trading drugs to pay the days work. Not only this one but also too the jjs market up top at the hill on our imperial avenue up nearby the cemetery. Also too the infant formulas were outdated and as well as the cerial we buy

I am a MTS bus driver who, with other coworkers. Visit this Market frequently. They have been really nice to us, and nice to a lot of our customers who ride the bus and who are in the neighborhood. The food there is very good and the service there is also great. Its like a Family Market that everyone loves. And they always make us feel welcome.

Was looking for birria to try for first time. found this place which has a market attached to it. serving was big and affordable. server was helpful enough. will be trying out other Mexican dishes soon.

Weve been going to Big Ben for over a decade. Sometimes its for last minute dinner due to our busy lives but mainly because the people and customer service were decent. The key word being were. Ever since the remodel, there has a decline in the quality of employees. Especially at the food counter. Half of them never seem to know how to use the register let alone handle customers. The last few experiences with that counter have been lackluster and today, just outright bad. When we came in, there was only one other customer at the food counter. I waited behind her for about 5 minutes while two ladies were fiddling about the register. They took another several minutes ringing her up. During this time, a man came up. I stepped up to order some food after they were finally done with her. The lady told me that she was helping the other customer first. Naturally I took my business elsewhere. Worse yet, I called to address this issue with the manager and was put on hold for 10 minutes. The store may look better but with the lack of basic common sense and training of some of the employees, the money spent on the remodel is a waste and theyll be losing more than just our business at this rate.

This is just 2 1/2 blocks from my mom my house the big Ben market. I used to walk there every morning. For a grocery store in the neighborhood it has a pretty good variety of things if your tastes run to the Hispanic almost exclusively. For example I tried to buy a bag of candy there for Halloween and there was nothing In a multi pack like snickers Hersheys Twix Kitcat Nestlé crunch I don’t think they even have a Nestlé crunch bar in there. No Twizzlers. I see these as commmon things. They have a great variety of liquor and beer. They have a counter with a butcher and I don’t know why because most of the things back there are frozen. Or were frozen and he’ll tell you the truth he’s a nice guy. I asked the produce guy for green beans he led me to the canned food Section. Finally I do remember an incident where a customer left the store absolutely irate one of their clerks had some sort of language problem she had to be over 60 barely spoke English couldn’t help the lady and I remember Trying to help as I am bilingual the clerk wouldn’t have any part of it.

This place is great! Its a small grocery store with a outdoor covered patio grill house. The prices of the things in the store are the cheapest Ive seen in a long time. They also have hot ready food to go. The grill house has beer and kombucha on tap.

A good neighborhood market with a small restaurant attached serving good specials. Also a decent selection of craft beers in their coolers for takeout.

Amazing place to purchase your groceries. Also the restaurant has a good 99c tacos special on tuesdays. Ill recommend the chicken salad on the ready food fridge which is amazing and low in calories to keep low calories

I used to buy bus passes but no more, very bad service, theres a lady, she seems Arab but not sure, she always says system is down, very despot and I always get the monthly pass from first day of month to the last day of month and I always get it 2 or 3 days before of the last day of month and for an unknown reason she always give me the 30 days bus pass so at the end of the month i have no more credit in the card, i have talked to the store manager but he doesnt care . I used to buy food and a lot of stuff but no more. MTS if you give a sale permit, license or concession to sell transit products please check it out.

Times have change and so has the store. No more Big Ben logo clock. A lot of great organic food plus a Bar and Grill. New faced or should I say look-outside aperance. Good prices.

Big Ben may be little, but they pack in a wide variety of products and the prices are good. In addition the restaurant has some amazing specials and the good has always been good, especially for the price.

Its a great place to go, I always buy my carnitas, I highly recommend Big Ben Market.

Todays service was not good, I ordered 3 pieces of chicken and requested to dine-in. This order taker put my food in a takeout box, so I had walk around with my food in hand. She said because I ordered from that side thats how it goes. Funny the four guys infront of ordered from the takeout side and the front put on the table where they sat down to eat . These guys are Hispanic, shes Hispanic too. Maybe its a coincidence this situation seems bias against me. Im African-American. The other younger lady does service the Right way.

This is NOT a full service restaurant. If you have never been to the big Ben market next door you would never understand why the service is not everything a regular restaurant is or should be. BUT the Prices make up for it. The happy hour food is good and the beer is a good price ( no IPA though 😒). Sorry no pics to add but the french frys are on point, and the tacos (all except for the shrimp), carnitas and adobada burritos, and birria are good. We have only been here twice but good both times.
