The staff were very friendly. Eye exam went great and they had a large selection of nice frames to choose from. Pricing was fair as well. I would definitely recommend friends and family!

Unlike many box store optometrists in New Bern that you have to wait 3 months for an appointment, Fr. Had my yearly eye exam today, and it occurred to me how different Dr. Baxter and his staff are from every other doctor I have visited. I have never had to wait more than 5 minutes to get into an appointment, and everyone takes their time to listen to what you say. Office is clean and he routinely gets new equipment to help diagnose any issues you may have. I havent had to have my eyes dilated in a few years because of this and it has been wonderful. They also worked with me on my contacts order to make sure I was getting the best financial deal.

Dr. Baxter and his staff are wonderful! A little backstory...Im new to this area, and not knowing who to go to, I just selected a random optometrist office that I had seen when passing by. I had a bad experience there, with an unprofessional doctor and three failed attempts at perfecting my glasses prescription. I knew I had to try someone else, and I was so glad to have found Dr. Baxter! First, every one of his staff were very friendly and helpful. Dr. Baxter was amazing, very nice and professional. He spent a good deal of time with me, checking and double-checking my vision. I knew that he cared very much that I got the most accurate Rx possible. I then had Crystal help me pick out frames. She, too, was very helpful, allowing me the time I needed to find the right ones. She picked out ones that fit my description of what I was looking for and I kept trying them on until we both settled on our favorite! When the glasses came in, the vision was PERFECT! Dr. Baxter nailed it! April helped me with the fitting and I now have glasses that provide me with exceptional vision and fit perfectly! I am so glad I found Dr. Baxters office. Dr. Baxter is the absolute best eye doctor. He has the most up to date technology and he doesnt rush you out. I just left my appointment and for the first time my vision is better & my astigmatism isnt as bad. He changed the shape of my contacts at last years visit and it made such a difference! Its rare to find doctors that truly love what they do & are compassionate. Last year something weird happened to my eyes and by the morning they hurt so bad I couldnt open them. My husband called Dr Baxter (Saturday AM) and he immediately met me at his practice and saw me. He was gutting his home from the hurricane and dropped what he was doing to help me. He also called that night and first thing Sunday morning. He then fit me in for multiple appointments that week to ensure the problem cleared up. He is the perfect blend of old fashion doctor (drops what hes doing when his patients are in need) and advanced, cutting edge technology. Also, he has such a wonderful, friendly staff. The medical world would be such a better place if there were more Dr. Baxters.

Well let me start by saying this is by far one of the nicest places Ive ever been. The staff was friedndly, fun, and professional. I havent had much experience with eye doctors but this place definitely lives up to there five star hype. Like I said I had no idea what I was doing and the staff helped me through every little detail and answered all my questions without the feeling of being rushed. They even helped with picking out my glasses which they have a huge diplay. Today was my first time visiting Dr Baxter. I have been to a few eye doctors in New Bern since I moved here 6 years ago. I felt comfortable coming in and while doing my eye exam. I didnt feel rushed in the chair and out the door. He and I talked about my eyes and he gave me the confidence to be able to trust in an eye Dr again. Going to other Drs in the past I still couldnt see well as to figure that my prescriptions were not accurate enough for me to read or even drive sometimes. I am excited tonight to be able to write this review for as last night I wouldnt have been able to.I know I will have to revisit to tweek my contacts a little but I really appreciate the time he spent with me today getting me to this point. Dr. Baxter and his team make it a pleasure to go get my eyes checked. They are all super friendly, very knowledgeable and so helpful.

Dr Baxter and his practice were exceptional in all aspects. A full, comprehensive medical history and Rx review along with vitals preceded my eye exam. Full and detailed explanation of my computerized (NO dilation needed) retinal scan was very informative. The vision exam was likewise comfortable and educational. Dr Baxter addressed my dry eye and eye allergy needs, and even conducted online reasearch to assist in most productive prescribing. He also made office notes to easily address Formulary-approved alternatives if needed. Final conclusion was a secure, electronic portal with ALL the medical notes made available to me within 24-hours. Dr Baxter also is a provider for my VSP eye insurance. I am very pleased to have found such a comprehensive, patient-centric and well informed Optometrist.
