One of the best shops in Gruene! I love their jams, salsas, and flavored peanut butters. All the canned stuff is fun to buy and try. Its a nice family fun place to visit. Does get crowded and nobody wears a mask if thats a issue for u. But i highly recommend stoppin by. 🍒🍓🫐

Don’t miss this great store when visiting Greune, Texas!! So many interesting items to look at, you’re bound to leave with a treasure or two or ten. Located right across the street from the famous dance hall. Abundant parking behind building and other shops and restaurants are right outside the door. Highly recommend!

My husband and I enjoyed browsing through the store. If you appreciate historical buildings, you would appreciate walking through this structure to see the woodenfloors and the counters.

Cool place they have a lot of retro (back in the day) items. With Christmas coming they have a lot of Western and Texas themed ornaments. Really a lot of everything!! A must place to see when you come to Gruene.

We loved this town and this was our favorite store!! The Bob Ross memorabilia and the selection of goodies jam packed into this historic store along with friendly, courteous employees smiling and enjoying their career there made it so fabulous! Worth the Sunday afternoon drive to shop and giggle at all the quirky funny little sayings throughout the store. I mailed some post cards back home and have mine for the memories later too. Thanks you guys! We enjoyed it so much!! ❤️💯❤️

What is a trip to New Braunfels, if you dont stop at the Gruene General store? I absolutely love this place, the atmosphere is so nostalgic and fun! This time I grabbed a Gruene General store hat, to remember this amazing place. I wear it with pride, just about everyday.

Very nice place to look for something oldfashioned. And everybody can taste sauces, peanut butter and honey with original and weird flavors. Just go around The store and enjoy your visit.

Our favorite local ice cream and fudge stop! All staff are very helpful & friendly (Im sure smiling under their masks!) Wide variety of toys and gifts!

Enjoyed the town. Lots of little shops. Didnt eat. On Saturday and Sunday there is a street market with local crafts so may go again.

Experienced today that I could not keep my dog on a short leash to purchase souveniers for my sons. Would have spent a good amount of money. Too bad. No visible signs either. Service dogs only was told.

Soooo crowded and so little space to move around. The prices were steep and although they have a wide assortment and selection of items they are all from the same kinds of brands, which aren’t remotely local. Cute, old timey feel, but only if you can get around the store and aren’t deafened by the loud noises.

Alot of stuff to buy there. It was great we bought gifts for everyone there.

This place kind of takes you back in time to when general stores were popular. It has a little bit of everything so it hard not to find some treasure to buy. The best part is the wonderful treats to eat and enjoy. Be it fudge, ice cream, or something else you will always find a delectable treat to enjoy.

None of the staff had masks on. girl with no mask was leaning over the ice cream and coughing on it. No gloves on either. no socially distancing going on and masks not required. Id only go here if you want to get Covid

Nice general store right on the entrance to Gruene. They carry all sorts of sauces, candies, souvenirs, and they have an ice cream shop. Prices are higher than the norm but it us understandable as there really isnt any other store selling g what they sell around there.

Love going into this store, get the candied jalepenos their the best!

Love all the unique and novelty items. I routinely get their flavored coffees (salted caramel and butter toffee). They have a great selection of fudge and candies. Its a mandatory place to shop at Gruene!

Love coming here in the winter time. Awesome day trip to cruise around, grab some food, some hot coco and see Cowboy Cringle. Really fun with lots of things to look at and enjoy. It can get a bit busy so I would plan ahead and prepare to walk a bit.

Beautiful place to visit! Old small town feel. Lots of cool stuff to buy and lots of Texas souvenirs. I love how the floor creaks giving it that old feel. Friendly people and say hello or howdy everytime. If you go here you will find something to buy.

Cool little store with awesome fudge! We purchased a few items along with a dozen pieces of fudge. I know, right? However, the fudge never made it into our bag. We called and let them know after we had driven 2 hours south. They got our address, and mailed it to us! I will definitely go back for more next time I PS through.

The Gruene General Store is a step back in time, except for all the new merchandise. The ice cream, and candy bar are very nostalgic, and GOOD. Walking on the old wood floors under the tall ceiling is certainly historic. The store is filled with fun toys and gadgets, t shirts, and nearly anything that says TEXAS. It is a MUST stop when in Gruene, there is a bench under the side overhang for us old folks to sit while the kids enjoy their ice cream and candy.

I love shopping here for unique gifts and Xmas ornaments during this time. It was really crowded. Not good for small children or wheelchairs due to the tight spaces. My daughter and her children had to wait outside.

Such a great place to visit. I bought some banana peanut butter. changed my life. I loved it on some toast with bananas on top. alot of other things here like fudge and ice cream. fun knick knackes. a must stop.

The store was awesome but my daughter dropped the bottle of hot sauce she spent her money on for her dad. And they only give you paper bags for your merchandise, nothing with a handle on it, so you dont have good grip on it.

We got away and went to Gruene Tx. Its an older town. We went to all the stores including Gruene General Store. We ate at the Grist Mill. The food was good.

A lot of mom and pop shops. Takes you back in time. Great eateries. A lot of old buildings you can go into and look around. A must see.
