It had been quite a while since Id been in a bookstore and it was great!!! First I got the wonderful smell of new books. The book selection was amazing and the worker at the shop was very friendly and helpful. Loved being there.

I came to barns and nobles to get manga but tbh there manga place is a lil small but they do have GREAT manga customer service is GREAT super nice workers and nice place

I love Barnes & Noble. This one in particular is small. But I love it because its cozy- being surrounded by books. It doesnt have a large selection when it comes to book genre. But more often than not, they have the book youre looking for. A bit pricey. Great service.Best thing- Barnes & Noble never ask you to leave.

The staff is very friendly, but the store is quite small and it looks like about a 1/4 of it is the childrens section. They do have some pretty good discount items, however.

I love coming here for all my books. Its always well organized. Its conveniently located in a shopping center with free parking.

Smaller store but still a good selection.

Small in space but homely and comfy, the people are very open and smile often in greetings and goodbyes making everyone feel welcomed. It’s organized, with sections easy to find and not large enough to be like a maze in search for books to read. Overall a great branch of Barnes and Nobles and easy to get a snack or visit other stores with its location. Including a bed baths and beyond, a pizzeria, GameStop, although Sears is no longer present in the notable mix of the market. A thing to notice is that there is no viable area of seating and instead one may have to be comfy on the floor.

I always compare the book prices with amazon but also I like to shop offline especially books. Clerks know what I was looking for and where those books were located with very kindness. Hope Barnes and Noble can offer the price match... I got the book that I was looking for but it was 5 dollars lower at the amazon. I purchased book here because I had coupon. But still hope they can match the prices with their competition .

I love this place.. it has a very good collection of books.. my kids love reading books and this place offers very interesting and informative good quality books..The staff is very helpful and kind..They also have books to prepare students for the standardized tests.. we can choose from various publishers..They also have good toys especially the reading and writing toys from leapfrog learning.,.. they have a good collection of books for adults too and a good variety of art and coloring books.., overall good place for books..

First, I read a review by an African American customer who questioned why someone asked her if she needed help. I am Caucasian and they almost always ask me if I need help. I like to browse and I guess they take it that Im lost but Im not. They are only trying to be helpful.This is a small store that has been a book store of some kind for almost 40 years although it was not always a Barnes & Noble. I think it was a B. Dalton years ago. Because its a small store the selection is limited but you will find the bestsellers and works by popular authors. Unlike other Barnes & Noble stores, it doesnt have a section for clearance/marked down/remainder books. Sometimes they put a few on a table but thats it.I am a little surprised that this store is still around given its small size and with so may other bookstores closing. The B&N business model also doesnt help its stores. Almost everything is on sale on the B&N website but at the store its only bestsellers. For example a paperback book with a list price of $16 might be available on the website for $12 but at the store it costs the full $16. You can buy it online and pickup in store for $12 but two different prices for the same book from the same company doesnt make sense. Why buy in store when you can get it cheaper from them online?

Since this is the only Barns&Noble I know left in Queens/Long Island they are on top of their game. If they don’t have it they always go the extra mile to order what you are looking for or at least offer too. Book stores in this day and age are a dime a dozen it’s a gem nothing huge but resourceful and cozy very welcoming and peaceful. Love it, it’s been there as long as I can remember 🙏🏼

Great customer service!

I went into Barnes and Nobles on Union Turnpike today. I was looking for books for my 12 year old daughter. When I walked in the store, I noticed I was the only African American. I started browsing around, with not true idea of the book I was seeking, only knowing I needed books for her. I found a book I might me interested in and then got back to the task at hand. After about 5 minutes in the store, an employee of Barnes and Nobles approached me, inquiring as to whether I needed help. Which was fine and she did help me, but what I found odd about the situation is that she didn’t ask any of the other 10 or so customers if they needed help. Did I look out of place, (I felt I looked very presentable as I just left work). Was it that maybe I might help myself to a five finger discount. Whatever it was I felt very uncomfortable, one generally asks for help if needed and I definitely didn’t do that. Last time I checked people of my color read every now and then, we even occasionally from time to time purchase books. I felt I was racially profiled and it was not a pleasant feeling.

Have you ever had such a wave of nostalgia wash over you that you cant help but burst into tears? Yeah, me neither. But I almost did when I went into this Barnes & Noble in North New Hyde Park. Memories of sifting through the new fiction in the back of the store, seeing what gems you could find in the Clearance section. I bought my first of many cookbooks from B&N. The decor by itself made you feel smarter just by walking in. I know theyve gone through a long season of extreme changes, where its seen its other bookstore brethren pushed over the Borders of anonymity. But B&N have survived and endured. The book selection is still terrific and you cant beat the knowledge of the store faculty and the grace and aplomb with which they carry out there duties. But alas none of that equanimity pays the bills and that is the reality. So God speed, and may your inevitable be long delayed and glorious!!

Very small store. Pricey. No real bargains here. No comfortable place to sit and look over a book or to use the bathroom. Some staff have such a flat persona.You would be far better off going to the one on Old Country Road.

Come on! This is place is a now a hidden gem and a one of a kind considering book stores are disappearing left and right. This is probably the only place where you can pick up such things like international maps or an older generation children, sports, cooking, etc books. Books, books, books and its all over on four levels.In todays world, you will more likely want a physical childrens book and this place got it. Whether you are looking for a gift or a nice book to read with your kids, you will find it here. The childrens service desk folks are usually super helpful. They know books by heart and even know where it is exactly, scary.. I know! I came here to get a gift and I found it.If you are on babysitting duties, its a great place to hang out -- though I have to say that seating is limited. The only place I noticed where you can sit and study is the coffee bars. I didnt make it to the 4th floor, but maybe there is more seats up there.

Great selection of books. Lake Success store is small, but they have a sufficient amount of books on every subject. Theres still nothing like books.

A cosy little place with a huge collection. I went there to get the David Bowie limited edition moleskine journal. Even though they didnt have it, the gentleman there was super helpful in directing me to a store that carried it. Ended up buying a plain moleskine, but would recommend this place for sure.Staff is helpful and friendly and very very nice.

Although the store is smaller than I am use to..but the selection ..the layout was just like past barnes and noble.. The 2 staff were nice and allowed you to just be and enjoy the books.
