This local hardware store for Manhattan Illinois has a great location, right in the heart of Manhattan. Their staff is extremely attentive, I’d be surprised if more than five minutes went by without you being greeted and asked what you need help findingThey make it painless at finding what you want, however their prices are a little bit on the high side.Overall this is a good local clean hardware store

I have lived in New Lenox all of my life and have always come to Ace for supplies we needed around the house and for my garden, and have always had a great experience. The other day, I came in and was very displeased with my experience. I was not greeted as I walk in, which was fine but odd since they usually always say hello or good morning. I got the few things that I needed, and went to the registers. A short blonde girl with glasses was my cashier and who, once again did not greet me and barely spoke to me, when she did it was very short and rude. I have never had an experience like this here before and felt very uncomfortable. I will be taking my future purchases to the Manhattan Ace.

Needed snow blower 2 weeks ago had what I wanted, ordered online ready in couple hours. Great service.I just added lanyard, fishing leader to keep keep key from getting lost in snow when you remove it.

This place is awesome the people are so friendly I have never spent more than 15 minutes in the place because my time is worth money. If you go to those big Box retailers you cant even find anything for the 1st half hour its ridiculous and its not worth saving 50 cents. An older gentleman with long white hair, so very helpful I wish I could bring him home to help me with all my projects. Awesome sauce . A very young man with long Brown hair super helpful, I wish I could bring him home too.Thanks so much guys and keep up the great work!!!

Thought this place would improve when new ownership came on board a year ago. Disappointed to say no. They know how to move their aisles around and added greeting cards, who gets greeting cards at a hardware store. Service is still incredibly slow, like dealing with zombies, prices are higher then average, selection at times is weak. They added a new female manager who acts like she runs the world during this COVID time. Had people waiting outside in the cold while there were more employees doing nothing then customers in the store. Shes a little Gestapo manager. Run away from this store, just drive down to Lowes instead, you know what you get there.

Stopped in on a Saturday morning, someone immediately asked how they could help. Knowledgeable, friendly, helped me through my list. Perfect shopping experience except that register wouldnt accept payment from my phone. Hopefully that will be fixed next time I shop.

This review is for the New Lenox Whitmore Ace Hardware. I was in today looking to get a large quantity of seed packets to give as gifts to my graduating students. They were able to pull together what I needed in a matter of hours when I thought it would be a day or two. They were so accommodating and eager to help, and I am so very grateful for that. My students will love the seeds, and I am so glad I made Ace my first stop - I thought I would have to go to several stores to get what I needed, but they took great care of me. Thank you so much!!!

The more I go to whitmore Ace hardware stores, the more I love them. Great selection, staff is always very friendly and kind and very knowledgeable. Also their rewards program is great and they usually have a charity event going which is nice that they help out so much.

The staff here are very friendly and helpful. The store has an easy to navigate layout with aisles clearly marked. I was able to find what I needed without issue. The prices seemed very reasonable too.

This place is awesome with new ownership. Totally rearranged it looks twice as big. Bought a new Weber grill there a few weeks ago fully assembled and a store employee followed me home with it. Definitely going back.

Why would one go to Ace when you have the big box stores like Lowe’s & Home Depot nearby with better selection, more stock & much better pricing with coupons to boot!?I gave these guys a try on their “grand opening” weekend. Literally, every single thing I came in looking for were gone/sold out. A number of them were not the items that were in their flyer to get people in the door. But, if you’re going to offer certain discounted items to get people in the door, a word to the wise would be to have more than a small handful in stock. Many people were upset the $5 Yeti Ramblers were gone in 20 mins. For me, Ace simply doesn’t have the stock (outside of a grand opening weekend) and more importantly pricing to warrant my business.Oh well, I gave you guys a try. Back to the big box retailers for me.

The people that work there are so nice! I was looking for drawer handles. They didnt have the size I needed and they didnt carry it. (old dresser) The employee went above and beyond to look up other brands they dont carry to see if they have the size i need!

This place has everything for all your hardware needs, but it also carries really cute Hallmark cards as well as lip balms, magnets, and even Disney related souvenirs and decorations. Thus, you don’t necessarily have to be looking for hardware to come and visit this store.

New owners, new floor plan, more merchandise. They also have greeting cards and some gifts . Mike asked if I needed help. I asked a few questions and he was very thorough with his response and he showed me the items I would need to repair a few things around the house. Left with a few things . I have to measure a pipe and fittings then I will return.

Well this New Lenox hardware store is really on an uptick. Its been around for a long time but this is new ownership and new in it management so its worth checking out theyve got a fantastic selection and a helpful staff. Just the thing we need in our area is a good old-fashioned hardware store of course with modernization LOL

This ace is stocked like most others Ive been to in the Chicagoland area. The staff however, are really helpful and courteous. I do go here rather than big box places when I can. Why? Yeah, it may be a little more, but Id rather walk out with the right part from someone who isnt just a retail worker, but someone who could offer sound advice.

Worst ACE experience. I usually go to manhattan location and the customer service there is so much better, and will always go there in the future. I went in for a couple items, and had a question regarding the carpet cleaner rental. I asked if we had to buy the shampoo separate, old man at the register says well, yea. if you want your carpets clean. I thought he was trying to be funny, I was waiting for him to smile or laugh but he just stared at me. I said, well I didnt know if some came with the rental or not. And he said no with major attitude and lifted his eyebrows at me. He stared at me until I walked out. so rude!

The remodel looks amazing and it is so much easier to find products now. The selection is great and the staff is very friendly!

Its like most Ace. You pay a little bit more and in return get helped by a knowledgeable employee, you save 10 minutes not parking a 100 yrs from the door, and the owner probably lives in the local community.

I went to Ace Hardware in New Lenox IL to buy a tow chain or strong nylon strap.I bought the nylon toe strap with a weight limit of 8500 lbs so I can pull a 97Camaro RS which was 3400lbs which is only half of the weight limit. Well the strapbroke, so I bought a thick tow chain from some where else (which I should of done in the first place). So few days later I go back to Ace to return the strap and asked forrefund. The said all they can do is give me a new one, I said I wanted a refund because why would I want a new one if the first one snapped. To my surprise the sales guy goes it looks like its been cut. To accuse me of cutting it, it was ridiculous! Then he tells me that it could be because I looped the hook over the strap and that was why it snapped. The salesman and the owner where trying so hard to come up a reason not to refund this strap. It was like they were forensic scientist coming up with all their theories on how this strap broke, it was ridiculous. Then the owner calls the police on me and my wife.They show up and tell us its a civil matter, then the female owner says that she isnt even going to give me a new one. She did that thinking Id get mad in front of the police, well it didnt work. I calmly picked up my broken strap and left. When I left I was in shock on what just happened. Your taking a chance of getting arrested when you return something there! Save your money and gosomewhere else like LOWES, MENARDS, OR HOME DEPOT and no worrying about getting a refund.

Employees care, selection is descent for the size, and they have free popcorn. Done. Go Here!
