I cant say enough about how cool this place is and how much selection they have but BEWARE of the sanding service. We were really happy with the doors we selected and mostly satisfied with the price. That said Im writing this to those who may use their service to strip and square the doors. We got an old pair of french doors and loved the charm. We paid the extra money to have them sand and they did such a good job that it looked almost new.... which is not what we were going there to purchase. My biggest complaint is that when they went to square them they added a piece of wood to the sides which looks NOTHING like the original wood. And we were planning to keep them natural! :( Very disappointed in that aspect of it so think carefully before you spend the extra $. Also, if they were to break glass in process etc then thats on you too so we heard. You can see piece of wood added in pictures.Update: so despite having loved the way they originally looked my wife couldnt live with the changes. We called them back and they were happy to work with us. They let us to exchange them for another set. This time we took them home as is and love them...see recent picture. Updating rating based on good customer service
What a great experience! Kelly, the owner, was extremely personable and very helpful. She has that type of personality where you feel you’ve known her forever. I wanted to purchase old Cypress doors for a condo in Chicago. I gave her the measurements and she took it from there. The quality and workmanship was second to none. Thanks to everyone at The Bank, who helped with my project. Highly recommend.
Not only do they have a VAST selection of architectural pieces, but the staff is super knowledgeable. Nice folks, too.
Wonderful and huge. Vast array of doors and great staff.
So many cool doors!!!!We came all the way from Florida with our friends to find some unique doors for their upcoming project and we werent disappointed. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff that shared to origins of each set of doors we inquired about.
Tons of doors. A bit pricey for me, butnindont know much about these things.
So much good stuff! I could spend all day looking through the old doors. 🖤
Great place to find the interesting details for your home. One of our favorite spots for browsing.
This is where I find all the details to restore the homes in uptown and Garden district. As for Sean. Ogden and Son construction and painting.
Four staff members were walking around the place without masks, despite a sign on the entrance saying they must be worn inside — this sets a bad example AND puts customers in danger. Do better.
Great service
This place is extremely respectable and I love doing business there. 🤝👍💯
Awesome place great people
Wear your old clothes and be ready to be amazed. Great place to visit, whether you need anything or not. Allow sufficient time to peruse all the wonderful items.
Im a hard core antiquing aficionado. I hate fake places, Bank is the real deal. Are you looking for antique doors? They have them all
What a great place. Be prepared to be overwhelmed.
The antique items are mostly damaged & overpriced. The doors are organized fairly well & it’s neat that they offer a service to fill in the holes. Nice if you want a rustic look or want to paint it. But the base price for these very imperfect doors should be sufficient for basic repair, and they will not negotiate. One staff person is rude. They have the largest door inventory, so not many other options if you’re in the market for an old door & don’t want to travel the state.
Love this store! Everyone is super helpful and knowledgeable.
WOW! Supercool old warehouse with tons of potential historical building products.
If you are looking to restore an old home or just interested in what you can make with old New Orleans architectural pieces, this is the place to check out. Nicely organized and most pieces have been cleaned up quite a bit. They even offer in house refinishing. Great place.
This place is truly amazing and an antique candy shop. Walking through the halls is inspirational as you see and touch pieces dating back 100 years.
Really cool place. If you like old doors and windows this is the place
Very overwhelmed lots of doors
Fantastic selection... The staff are super friendly and it make you feel like youre not under the gun when looking for the right home hardware. Appreciate it!
Great selection that changes regularly. People are nice and easy to deal with. Fun to just go and browse to see whats new.
If you need an authentic antique door, lock, window, there are hundreds to choose from or they will expertly repair or rebuild yours. Architectural hardware is their thing of course being in one of the oldest cities in America....
They fabricated and delivered my custom order on time.
First time I went In they charged me what I thought was a fair price. Two days later I went back and the charged me 5 times the amount for the same exact wood. Such a rip off. Was asking 40 dollars for one square foot of old wood: please go to green project or anywhere else and save yourself a lot of money.
Good stuff. Difficult staff. Regularly over priced.
If you love old growth cypress...this is the place!! I could spend hours here.
Love this place. Its got friendly staff and an ever changing stock of cool old bldg materials. If youre trying to restore an old nola home, stop here first. Theyre usually cheaper than Riccas
Great resource for renovators who appreciate NAwlins architecture
The Bank has been Awsome! I am building a house and we had a bunch of old doors that we have been collecting for a while. We found a few Beautiful doors ready to go at the bank. But we had trouble finding someone to help with the old doors we have collected elsewhere. Our contractor AMG contractors in Covington (that is Awsome as well) told us to ask the bank, that we had already dealt with, that we didn’t know would do our existing old door restoration. We talked to Shawn and brought him 6 of our old doors that needed total restoration. They took our doors and totally restored them, put trim in for glass, put trim in for sliding doors, replaced old ornaments that I didn’t expect to be replaced for the very reasonable price quoted. And did it all in a time frame that I didn’t expect from a custom shop! All I want to say is thanks a million to Shawn and is crew for a great job, and a very reasonable price, with great service! Thanks David Burlett
So many fascinating items. Extremely friendly staff.
Incredible array of architectural artifacts. From doors to mantles to everything else for historic New Orleans homes. All prices seem negotiable but thats part of the game,
A great place to go to match up period Architectural.
Great for finding antique hardware, however the prices can be a little high on some items.
Huge selection of architectural antiques, both restored and waiting for you.
Fun, amazing finds, and very pricey!
Great place to recycle old architectural materials
Owner/manager extremely rude. The rest of the staffwas great and the selection is great
Was disappointed in this place this time seems all they have now are doors
If they dont have it nobody will. Some items pricy.
Amazing merchandise!!
Great source for architectural salvage.
Pick out the pieces you cant live without and design your space around them. The selection is ridiculous!
You could find great stuff here
I genuinely think that the manager and staff and owner or RUDE!Stay away .There better choices in the city.
If you are looking for authentic period doors, windows, etc. This is the place but be prepared to pay for it.
