Decent selection of wine and basic convent items!

This place is fantastic!! I have been a regular customer for almost 10 years!! They have a great selection of liquor, beer and wine. Their prices compare to others that sell the same.They also have a small selection of italian meat and cheeses. (Salami and prosciutto ...maybe one or two small packaged meats..)Their selection also includes mixers, cans of soda, gatorade, energy drinks, bottled water, mineral water and juices . Behind the counter they sell cigarettes, candy bars, 5 hr energy shots, wine bottle openers, bottle openers and some other bar tools one may need.On the weekends during football season, you can usually get a cocktail to go as well.Since this is a family establishment, and to be expected, this place is closed on Sundays.

Love this place! I had troubles finding a spirit, they not only found it but they keep it on the shelf for me now.

Great selection of spirits and wines. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly. It definitely does not have the ambiance of a traditional liquor store. Very laid back and chill, kind of like a coffee shop.

This place was so amazing!!! They were patient with me while I asked tons of questions. They made great recommendations and helped me find exactly what I never knew i was looking for. They even let me leave my bag with them while I continued to shop around town so I didnt have to drag it around with me....5 stars hah more like 10!! These guys are the BEST!

My wife and myself have been going to New Orleans every year for thirty five years. As soon as we drop luggage off our next stop is Vieux Carre Wine & Spirits. What a great selection of liquor, wine and snacks! The pricing is always as good or better than any you will find in the Quarter. We stay for two to four weeks so it is always a large order and it has been delivered to our apartment by the time we wander back. This store is family owned and we are remembered every time we enter. Locally owned with friendly, knowledgeable, family. Hard to find these days and should be appreciated when you do. We will be in New Orleans in a couple of weeks and we know where our first stop will be.

Had a terrible experience. Walked in asking for general information on good bourbons and specific questions on Willett Family Reserve Bourbon (apparently one of Americas best) . they were not helpful. Cold and uncaring. Id recommend this place be avoided if you are looking for knowledgeable staff re bourbon.

This place was very helpful with a special request I had. I was coming from out of town so I called and they made a special order for me to pick up. Friendly and reasonably priced for being in the heart of the Quarter.

What a difference a day makes.My sister was flying in for her bachelorette party and I was unable to attend due to having a newborn. Upon recommendation from the hotel concierge, I ordered two bottles of champagne from this establishment that were to be delivered before 2 pm that day to the hotel. The gentleman I spoke to was very nice and helpful; however, the bottles were not delivered.When I called in 7/22 to determine where the error was (hotel or store), I was met with a very rude woman who did not want to even hear what I had to say let alone attempt to help me with the issue. I was told to call back in 20 minutes to speak to the delivery person. She refused to write down my number for him to call me back which I consider pretty basic customer service when there is an issue. I told her she had horrible customer service and hung up. She called me back several minutes later to tell me how rude I was and that she was cancelling my order and going to pick up the bottles at the hotel. When I told her that since I had paid for them, they belonged to me and she couldnt take them back she changed her story that they were never actually delivered. When I called her on it, she told me I was suffering from Postpartum Depression. Deplorable and disgusting to ever accuse a woman of having Postpartum Depression, especially when you were in the wrong and never delivered the order!! I find it particularly interesting that during my first call there was no way she could help me with the delivery issue yet in a matter of minutes she knew they didnt deliver it to the hotel. I would never patronize an establishment that employed such a vile and disgusting person.Ive informed the concierge at the hotel of the incident and he was appalled. Methinks they wont be getting anymore referred business from that hotel.

Decent shop right in the French Quarter. Nice cooler selection so you can grab a cold one and walk around. Yes you can walk around with a drink. They even have a sign in-store that says so.

What a cute little gem! My girlfriends and I stayed at a hotel nearby and happened to come across this place. Saw the chalk board sign outside that read $3 glass of wine.....so why not! We walked in thinking it was a bar or something but its a liquor store that has a HUGE selection of wine!Upon walking in, we were immediately greeted by an old Italian man, Mr. Blaze (sp?) dressed in a suit. He asked if we wanted samples of wine, but since we were there for that already, we just ordered a glass each. It was a red Argentinian wine. We sat at the one and only table situated in the front of the store with 4 chairs. Because it was lunch hour on a weekday, we sat there and had the pleasure of witnessing the daily lives of the locals here! Workers from the courthouse across the street, construction workers, retail store clerks, would come in with their bagged lunches or to-go lunches, greeted by Mr. Blaze, have a short chat, purchase a drink (wine, beer, water or sodas) and leave. Some would sit with us at the table eating their lunches and made small talk with us. It was one of the most entertaining people watching event Ive ever experienced.As old as Mr. Blaze was, he had no hesitation climbing on stairs and stocking the shelves. His store also sells local spices, snacks and just lots and lots of beverage selections. If you dont want to spend a lot of money at the bars, just come here and grab a few bottles and take it back to your room and pre-drink!Just note that they do close earlier in the evening.

Finding a liquor store in New Orleans can be a bit of a challenge. Sure, there are the loud touristy joints on Canal, but they offer mostly a lowbrow drinks collection at exorbitant prices. Then there is Vieux Carre on 422 Rue Chartres, which is a calm wine store with spirits too. And what fun my visit was---I talked politics with and older gentlemen, who directed me toward a nice $20 bottle of Joel Gott while railing against both President Barack Obama and his predecessor, President George W. Bush. And I shot the breeze for a time with Maria, who was working the counter. Nice folks. Ill be back one day! (Visited 1/8/14)

This place is great. Delivers quickly everywhere in the Quarter and CHEAP pricing. They offer a good service and selection at a fair price in a location where most price gauge as much as possible. They deliver large quantities to my work or just a couple bottles inside a hotel if youre visiting. THANK GOODNESS FOR VIEUX CARRE. Too bad they are closed on Sunday.

You can get particular liquors here you cant find elsewhere, like Zaya rum. Well stocked and a great to stop in after dinner to get a bottle to take home.

Perfect, a good liquor store, patient manager, who even made me taste bourbons. Of choice, interesting prices especially for the hurricane mix (preparation for typical cocktail of the New Orleans of Pat O Brien).
