Fantastic fudge and pralines! We stopped in to get a praline and a little fudge while on our honeymoon. The lady seen that we were on our honeymoon and gave it to us free. Probably the best pralines Ive had. No wonder they are award winning.

There is a really rude woman serving people behind the counter, mumbling to her coworker about the customers. The man working with her was very nice. I really wish I had gotten her name as she should not be customer facing.

The stores sign says “best pralines” and I don’t know much about pralines but I would say that in fact they are the best! Delicious! We tried coconut, sweet potato, chocolate, and some other pralines and they were all delicious! We even took some home.

Im a tour guide for Lucky Bean tours and when we do our tours we go through this location to try their pralines and sometimes my guests buy items. They have always been my personal favorite candy store in New Orleans. Been going to their first location for decades. I really appreciate their hospitality and products. Their pralines are amazing and currently they are making lemon pralines that are to die for! Its a great stop for my tours! Thank you!

Brianna is the sweetest - I took my daughter to Southern Candymakers for some birthday ice cream. Brianna noticed that it was my daughters birthday by the money pinned to her shirt, and gave her a sweet treat for a birthday present. Thanks Brianna for doing such a sweet thing for a little girls 8th birthday!By the way, the pralines are the best in town; I know because in my 40+ years of living in the city and SE La., Ive had just about every one made. The ice cream is delicious too!

Stopped in with friend, just to look. The two guys working were really sweet and friendly, offering us samples of the pralines. I never actually knew what they were, so I was in for a pleasant surprise! The guys gave me a brief history/method of creation/pronunciation lesson. They were super yummy and I ended up leaving with pralines and some bark. We all left happy with our purchases, thank goodness they knew before we did that we needed some candies. Lol.

My sister and I walked around the French Quarter for 5 days and didnt understand the hype behind PRALINES. We sampled different little shops just did not care much for the little candies. Until a young lady told us to go to Southern Candy and WE WERE SOLD!!!!!!!So rich and buttery very smooth....😋 YUMMY. These Pralines will become my new holiday edition. The best in Town will be traveling to SUNNY FLORIDA.

Searched and sampled various praline shops but none were quite what I was searching for. So glad I got the name of this one from one of the locals. The pralines were just like the homemade candies my great grandmother used to send us. Yum!

We just spent 5.19 on two of the worst pralines we’ve ever had. Both so old and crumbly the nuts were soft. They were some of the last in their flavor trays- chocolate and rum. We should’ve known, but they need to toss them if they get that old.

The best place in the whole area to get pralines. Super expensive, but if you want melt in your mouth pralines go here. The hubby and I got some of these for ourselves, and went to the New Orleans school of cooking for souvenirs. Very inexpensive at $10 for a dozen and they make them all day long. Beware as there are a lot of places that have gritty pralines in the area.

After a great lunch in the French Quarter, we were full, loving the day, and needed to run some errands for the bride. So we gladly obliged and followed - after all, we are her bridesmaids. Gotta do what she says, right? The bride wanted some last minute party favors for her guests - creamy pralines. I had never had them so I was eager to see what all the fuss was about. After trying a sample, I can happily say theyre not my thing but luckily they have more than just pralines here - you can get fudge, ice cream, toffee, etc. The candy shop covers it all.We wanted an order for 200 or so people and the shop got right on it and promised to it have done by that afternoon. Wow.While, we stood around looking at other stuff and the bride and her mom settled the bill and arrangements, the shop was more than willing to shove more samples down our faces. Truly impressive and I wish I could have bottled up some of this southern hospitality and taken it back west.

Your one-stop sweet tooth shop in the French Market! They need to make a scented candle because the smell inside this place is heaven.

Same family-owned for the twenty years Ive been patronizing. $27/# aint too much for the turtles and nut clusters when you get the excellent quality Southern makes and sells. (Theit pralines aint too shabby, either, though any pralines are not my cuppa tea.) Usually staff remembers you, even if it has been 2-3 months since your last visit. Their location on Decatur St is right on the tourist path between the French Market, Latrobe Park and the hotels around the downtown casino. Service is as fast as you can choose your purchase. Ive never seen a line longer than four parties of customers. I go there every time I visit NOLA!
