This place was filthy. There was live and dead flies all in the bake, all on the donuts, all over the store. The tables were covered in crumbs from the workers children eating. The worker’s children were sleeping and working behind the counter. The older daughter was packing up our food and literally put her finger nails in her mouth and then walked to my bag with spoons in the hand she had just had in her mouth.

I been there 1 time and got 1$ donuts omg my son in love with it and girl who work there she was so nice and sweet it was on october 30 around 35 pm.omg love rhis place))))

Glazed donut was good. Iced tea was probably the worst I’ve ever had. Prices are low. Credit card has a 5 dollar minimum.

The food is decent enough. Pretty good breakfast burrito. When I asked for extra salsa she said that its extra. Swiping my card again is not an option. I asked her to deduct it from the tip I left. Stingy with the napkins. The floor is grossly sticky. How are both restrooms out of order? Even just to wash my hands? I guess the employees cross Claiborne all the way over to the gas station to use the bathroom.

Great late night donut shop if you have a sweet tooth or just want some good ole breakfast. Staff is pleasant and helpful and food is always great.

Flies all over eating area! Young man behind counter act like he didnt want to touch my hand when placing my change in my head! Grits were very water down! And donuts were not fresh! My first visit was today 9/29/2021! Will not return!

Looking for a decent place to eat on a holiday or during odd hours of the night? City Donuts & Café is a great candidate. Cheap options available with a good variety for the menu. Donuts have a different taste than I was used to having growing up, but I still grew to enjoy them.

The donuts were tasty and fresh. Second visit in two days. However since I was there early, I decided to try the breakfast. I tried the shrimp and grits. Big disappointment 😔... Leave the breakfast alone and only get the donuts...

This place is my go to! I tend to visit early mornings when the glaze donuts are hot and fresh but even when I go in the day they’re amazing! I love the blueberry cake donut and their Apple fritters are insane!! Their food is so good including the shrimp on bun and shrimp and grits. I didn’t expect this place to be so good but it’s amazing and local!!

Ive given these folks a few chances. The doughnuts are good. Breakfast stuff is less than mediocre. But last nights 8:30 cheese burger was just atrocious. Two thin patties that tasted worse than shoe leather. Unchewable. I tried mightily but tossed it. The drive-thru has NO MENU POSTED????!!!!!...but shrugs were offered. Previous times when I went in, the staff could only be graciously considered indifferent and easily confused. Id hoped for food better than hours old McDonalds but my expectations were roundly dashed. Ill not return.

Bomb af. I got got fresh made doughnuts and basically bought out the store at 330 am from Uber eats. lol. I can see why they have competition lying and trying to turn people away theyre awesome. My friend was impressed and, just trust me, thats real hard to do.

This place is absolutely horrible! They dont serve real bacon with your breakfast and you only get a single slice of toast. My eggs were undercooked! However they did re- cook the eggs. The staff here is very friendly but the food is absolutely horrible. I was thinking to get a donut since it was a new donut shop. I did get a donut and it tasted undercooked and rubbery. I did give them a chance. But I wont be returning!

This is a budget offering for donuts and coffee. The other food did look over priced. But for an 89-cent donut, Im not expecting the best donut of my life.I visited in the early morning as a walk-in customer. They were well staffed, and the donut case was well stocked but not overstocked. Two staff members greeted me, and the service was prompt and friendly. The donuts are the standard varieties, like chocolate sprinkles, caramel, eclairs. A little bit on the creative side was chocolate with coconut, but thats as adventurous an offering as was available. I got a chocolate eclair and a coffee.The eclair does taste like something I could get at the grocery store, but its more convenient than the grocery store. The creme filling did have a nice vanilla flavor, more than the very plain flavor Im used to. The coffee is decent, as good as I could hope for with a $2 large.Bright side: this is a convenient location for me (aint no grocery stores real close) and its 24 hours with ample seating. I know I can get a dependably normal donut and coffee. I can expect good service like I had this morning. A bonus is the cute bag (pictured).Cons: kinda boring offerings, and the design of the inside is pretty plain. But what are you expecting for, like I said, a convenient, budget donut place?

Okay place. Bathroom didnt have any soap in either of the two dispensers. Service was okay. Food was bland though. Donuts were mushy and okay. If they want to stay around, theyll have to improve that. The breakfast burrito needed salt and pepper, and well any flavor. The potatoes couldve been cooked more. It had flimsy turkey bacon instead of real bacon. Feel kind of misled by that because the menu listed it as bacon. Wouldnt recommend.

I just left. I order the city breakfast. The grits was watered-down, the sausage was freezer burned, and even though its toast, you can taste that the bread was old. Flashback to when I ordered... they have a sign that says no refunds. I will not pay for any food at a sit down restaurant until I see my food for now on. And a word of advice for the no refund policy..The law says food and drink served in a restaurant must be of satisfactory quality and as described on the menu. This means all food should look reasonably presentable and taste good. If it does not, the restaurant is in breach of contract and you can ask for it to be changed or refuse to pay for that particular course.

Great place to eat at odd hours. The staff is friendly and the food was on point. Overall good experience.

I just can’t express enough how much I truly love City Donuts! Not only do they have excellent service & the sweetest donuts, but their traditional king cake is a staple in our home (yes it is available year-round when you order ahead)! There are plenty of treats to choose from — do yourself a favor & get a dozen! We will never stop coming here!

Went there one morning order the hot sausage on bun extra mayonnaise extra pickles with an egg on top they tried to charge me 2.50 or the egg a dollar for the extra mayo and a dollar for the extra pickles suddenly a 4:59 sandwich has went up to almost $10 I left it there and went to buttermilk drop food is much better

The shrimp and grits is just how it sounds. A bed of grits topped with some grilled shrimp, bell pepper, onion and some season.It was still delicious and a good way to start the day. Its my second time visiting this location and between the donuts and the hot food I will return.

I had the fish plate. Fish was delicious. Came with fries and a salad. The salad was small but it was fresh with pickles and tomatoes. Tartar sauce was good.My girlfriend had the cheeseburger. Burger was a nice size and she really enjoyed it.Kid had grilled cheese and ate the whole thing (rare).Also got donut holes. Really good

Meh. The doughnuts we got were alright. Be aware that all their restrooms are out of order even though we saw an employee coming out of one. My friend really had to use the bathroom so she was quite disappointed as you can imagine.

Not only do they have an awesome selection of doughnuts but they also make a pretty mean breakfast if you are on the go! The doughnuts are great (I shamelessly ordered more than one) but hey also have smoothies and I dug the sausage. The only reason I gave it a 4 star rating was the wait and environment. I wouldn’t recommend it as a “date spot” but if you’re looking for worthy doughnuts in Mid-City, check it out!

I felt discriminated against when I went her. I will never go back. I was rushed and the lady at the counter seemed annoyed by my questions. But she was very friendly to the women behind me and gave her a warm greeting.

Ive gone to City Donuts & Cafe at least once a week for the same thing... A dozen of donut holes. Today, I was abhorred and threw 1/2 of the donut holes away. Not looking, I picked up a donut and placed it in my mouth, it was clearly old & stale. When I looked in the bag, I noticed 1/2 of them were like that. (The darker ones are the stale ones) Dont sell a customer day old donuts at full price and try to pass them off as fresh. That is absolutely unacceptable! That did it for me. I will not be back!

The pink frosted doughnuts are the best! The glazed and strawberry cake doughnuts are great as well, and my mother loves the eclairs and cream filled. I ordered fries once... /once/. To my surprise they were the least flavourful fries Ive ever had. They somehow didnt even have potato flavour to them? The rest of the food may be good, but I stick to the doughnuts which I know are the best (or at least in the top three, as I still have 2 more doughnut shops in the city to try). I know its practically sacrilege to say this... but their doughnuts are better than Krispy Kreme

I called because my toast was a soggy mess in my grits when I got home. Well I asked if they separated the toast with either wax paper or aluminium foil and they stated neither. Then why wouldnt you put the toast in a separate container? The food was a waste. First and last trip there.

I ordered the city omelette and asked for extra shrimp I was told there would be an up charge and I was fine with that. After picking up my order, I noticed that my omelette did not look like it had extra shrimp, if that was extra shrimp, I would hate to see the shrimp in a regular omelette. I had paid 5 extra dollars, so it should have been a lot more. The omelette was not that good.I will never order breakfast there again.

Ordered specific donuts for a dozen in a take out order. Our family can not stand and do not eat bavarian cream and not only were 75% of the donuts not the ones we picked, they were replaced with bavarian donuts! We ordered 2 smores and 2 apple fritters in addition to the dozen. We got one apple fritter and some long, nasty bavarian donut with a nilla wafer on it. Our family of five ate 4 donuts out of the 14 we recieved (but ordered 16) and threw the rest in the trash. Waste of time and money.

Ordered a fish plate from City Donuts and had it delivered...I was very dissatisfied and disappointed....the fish was very greasy didn’t fried too soft, it also looked like it was eaten off and the appearance of the plate was awful...This is how I received the plate minus the ketchup...I will never order from them again...

Service was poor: no answers were given to any questions asked. Of the donuts we ordered, the Red Velvet tasted as if it were three days old. Without a doubt, one of our worst experiences in New Orleans.

When they first opened the doughnuts where so good now all I get is hard cold doughnuts. My favorite is the blueberry cake its soft and moist. However went there the last couple of times and the doughnuts were old and hard horrible.

Usually pretty good order threw post mates last night & it was a disaster. Order grits that were all over the bag none were left in t he container and the grits were lumpy. Also had french fries which were to hard to eat I literally only ate 3 fries. Terrible experience this time

Came to try for the first time. Got charged for something i ordered. Was told after i was charged they were out of what they needed to make the items. I told them never mind but got told i couldn’t get a refund as he had rung them up already which definitely could’ve been told before hand

LOVE this place, and I don’t even like donuts unless they’re freshly made! This place is open 24 hrs and has fresh batches all the time (even when I went at 2 in the morning). Their chocolate donuts are to die for- they taste like melt in your mouth coco puffs.

The hot glazed donuts were amazing. The service was perfect. It was fast, courteous, and I even saw the workers walk around asking if anybody needed anything. Prices were very reasonable.

So glad I found a donut shop uptown with Blue Dot and its replacement, along with the Freret Café closing.The iced cinnamon rolls and apple fritters are my favs and they have a great selection to choose from that wont break your pockets. They even sell bags of day old donuts for cheap = donut bread pudding! < trust me on this one.
