The prices for their used section were definitely appealing. What i dont get is that for on the wall used records you cannot open the sleeves and check the condition. You have to ask staff. When you ask the staff to check the condition i get the sense they do not want you and automatically expect you to buy the record. As a long time collector and specialist this is a bit put off. I want to see the record first without being judged. You want my money i want to be sure Im buying a record in good condition. I didnt noticed any listening section to test play records. Also for the more premium records no info was mentioned like condition. Although I did find some great records i feel customer service can improve. You are a record store. It should be the main drive and passion and it should reflect when an enthusiastic customer comes in and shows interest into your store and records. I did not got that feeling.
Have collected vinyl my entire life. Have purchased from amazing record stores all over the country. This is in my top 3 in the US for Stock, Value, Employee knowledge & service. If you need Jazz, Zydeco, Brass Band, etc, this is THE STORE. They also are expert shippers so dont be afraid to call and order what you need and have it shipped. Will arrive quickly and in perfect condition. They can also ship if you are traveling and dont want to pack vinyl in your luggage.
Great selection to choose from. Tons of new arrivals located throughout the shop. And a fabulous selection of jazz and local/regional artists. Prices were definitely fair on most things and competitive. They also have great tshirts and books and lots of other media to browse. Several listening stations set up as well. For an out of town dig, it’s a great place to stop!
This is a very nice and clean place where you can find classic, vintage and contemporary music. A variety of Jazz musicians, guitarists and other players from different eras... Louisiana Music Factory is a unique store for those who understand the complex and divinity of the styles...
This GOTTA be the best music store in all of Louisiana!! The art posters better than the Amoeba Music store in Cali! Music more a large collection but big enough for a real music head to enjoy the Black culture of all sounds! The merch is 🔥🔥
I love this place. SO much great stuff and so many local artists. Why doesnt every town have a local artist section. Reasonable pricing and nice staff.
Beautiful building. Great selection of records. A must visit when you are in New Orleans!
Just received my second order of New Orleans focused records. Kudos to the Louisiana Music Factory! The records were double boxed and well packaged, and arrived in much better condition than records from some of the other big-name stores. Im glad to support a small local business... even if I live 1,337 miles away!
Stumbled on this gem as we were walking along Frenchman St. What a great find! Great selection of new and used vinyls and posters. The owners/staff were extremely helpful and friendly - as a vinyl collector I have to say, this is rare. I asked them about a vinyl my daughter was interested in purchasing and they were kind enough to play it for her as we shopped. If you’re looking for a well stocked location with reasonable prices, this place is a must visit.
A great historical Music store 🏬 to visit!!!!A hidden Gem 💎 in the City of New Orleans!Such a awesome place to visit!!!!!
Just an incredible record store in New Orleans, huge selection & a healthy assortment of local music thats hard to find anywhere else. I love this place.
Huge selection. Extremely nice and helpful staff. Prices cant be beat.
Great store. Excellent selection, knowledgeable staff. They sell Audio Technica turntables too!
Fantastic experience - huge jazz section. Even saw local legend George Porter Jr. while shopping. Great tshirts as well - Frenchmen St. is a must do for music lovers.
So nice to still be able to lay hands on actual albums. Streaming music will never replace meandering the aisles of a good record store, and a place like this one, with a very helpful staff, will assure that music in physical form will never die.
Phenomenal! Staff was extremely friendly and helpful and helped make several suggestions
Great local music selection, shirts/hats/gifts, general music too, Soul, R&B, Country, Gospel, Trad Jazz, Funk, Blues, Cajun, Zydeco, Rock, etc!
Better than Peaches. Great selection of used. Tons and tons of nola music.
As vinyl junkie its nice to find record shops that are still needing with life. They have great collection and very helpful staff.
Great selection I love you my lil frenchmen french quarter music store .
Best place to get music in NOLA. They have SO MUCH music. And a really cool cat.
Such a great place. I was staying in the French Quarter. It was a walk but worth it. Super knowledgeable staff. Helps me pick out two lousiana rock and roll vinyls.
Great place to find local music and hard to find albums.
This is on of my favorite stores, we dont go too often bcs we always bring back way more then we set out to :). They have cds and vinyl and DVDs and art and collectibles and umbrellas and....and....check it out!
Great music shop with a real music shop vibe. Vinyl, CDs, even cassettes. Good t shirt selection as well!!
Great music choices you can listen to before buying. Friendly knowledgeable staff. Great in-store music performances. Supporting this independent music store sure beats buying from big box stores or Amazon.
Love this spot.
Has guitar strings
Always great vibes.
Its absolutely the best store for local and regional music. The staff are amazing and insanely helpful. If youve never been, you have to go check it out.
My favorite store in town to buy New Orleans music on vinyl. Great selection and very fair prices. The staff is great and passionate about music- every time I come in I end up conversing about different bands and records with whoever is behind the counter. Always a good experience.
A really good store. Plenty of decent rare stuff on the wall, good selection in the racks - and there are plenty of racks to go through. If I hadnt been with my family I could have spent hours here.... and a lot of money. I was over from the UK, and was pretty blown away.
Very knowledgeable staff. Best selection of local, national and international jazz and blues in NOLA. Love the in-store live music too. Dont miss it.
Great to see an independent music store still thriving. As one would expect in Nola, they focus on jazz and have built a niche in state and local bands. Knowledgeable staff help you decide what to select. Besides music on CD and vinyl, they also sell great music t shirts, posters and sheet music. There is also a great selection of used CDs of every genre.
Great place! Filled with great people / staff. And incredible merchandise very unique very authentic New Orleans store. :-)
They have CDs of most of the good local bands. We always pick up the latest Tuba Skinny album when were here. Also, they have a stack of the event magazines that tell who is playing where. Good resource.
Great store and very good selection, highly recommend!
Great collections. If youre some one looking for vinyls a must visit. This place has some kind of amazing vibe maybe because of music playing in the background along with some classics. Hours will spend like minutes. Bought artic monkeys collection at a reasonable price. Friendly staff with good service. Thanks guys
Amazing selection of new and used music! Loved talking with the employees about all different genres of music! Very knowledgeable
Always have what Im looking for
I got out for $119. All vinyl. Ill applaud my restraint. Broad selection along with a key niche of local music. Scored a couple of semi-rare pieces for under $12. Super knowledgeable and welcoming staff.
Incredible place to find local music! Brass bands, Dixie, Cajun, Zydeco, Delta Blues... I got out from here with like 15 vinyl records, and I whished I could have bought more and more. The crew is really nice, always ready to help and to give a good advice. Not a big selection of secondhand, but a lot of great records.
One of the best selections Ive ever seen of old stuff. Awesome ambience. Knowledge staff. I spent at least 4 hours there. Good values!
If youre still interested in VINYL, this is a must do spot. This may be one of, if not THE LAST good old fashioned RECORD STORE in New Orleans. The place could almost pass for being a museum. My wife bought about a dozen records when we were in NOLA in October. Great and very knowledgeable staff and you will find some great, classic music if youve got a couple hours to spend looking through crates upon crates of wax, reminiscing about afternoons at the record store when you were growing up.
Hidden treasures! Could describe the staff as well. Helpful bunch and charming cat.
The guys were super friendly and very knowledgeable. I gave them only some vague ideas about what I liked and they directed me to 3 albums that were great. they also recommended some great live music. worth the trip. and there is a friendly cat, cant beat that...
Fun store! Lots of good old finds. Plus, they have bins of old $3 records and a few $1 records as well. Good way to try out new music.
Excellent shop. Friendly staff. Great selection and they obviously cater to people that want explore the local music scene both past and present. Also, where else can you get a Professor Longhair t-shirt!?
Great supporter of the local LIVE music scene, and seller of most local artists. Fabulous selection of Louisiana music as the name suggests. Caring passionate staff make a visit to MLF special each and every time. Highest recommendations.
Good prices and in a nice section of New Orleans. Apparently there is a happening nightlife around this area, although I visited in the middle of the afternoon. People were friendlier here than other record stores, and there were some sections with discounted records. I expected the blues section to be larger, but the jazz section is worth checking out. Like some of the other stores, there are some records on low shelves that have discounted records that are worth a peek.
Love the nostalgic feel and selection.
It is like going back in time to visit here. I have to admit loving record stores and this was a good one. They had a large selection of all music types and of course lots of jazz.
Amazing music selection. Very helpful staff. Snooks the cat is the manager.
It just the the type of place, if they dont have it they will get it for you . more new and used LP then you can shake a stick at . its not just local stuff .when my lady takes me here[ she a always put the cash in hand, and knows i be here for some time]. this is the place for t shirts poster books not just CD and LP. the new location is very nice. the sale people know their stuff if they dont they shout a cross the shop to someone that knows . got to love that.if your a music player they got instrument stuff also. this place is well worth my 130+ mile drive and i work in a music shop but its nothing like this place !!!!
Great selection of vinyl and record players. They have a book section thats really nice. I got a jazz music book for piano and vocal. Will come back.
One of the best music stores in the Gulf South. If youre looking for New Orleans, music, this awesome French Quarter store cant be beat. But they have every other variety of music you can imagine too on CD and vinyl - new and used. Incredible selection, super friendly and knowledgeable service, and great prices. The in-store performances are the icing on the cake. Do not miss this place if you are visiting, and if you live here, this is a reason in and of itself to visit the French Quarter!
So much fun! HUGE selection of any type of music you are looking for🎵🎶. Thank you for the free concerts during JazzFest! Looking forward to enjoying the recordings on your YouTube channel.
Ordered TUBA SKINNY CDDelivered 2 days later to STLOUIS MO. EXCELLENT SERVICE..Thank You.
Best music best prices tons of albums you wont find anywhere else
Great location for vinyl records...... all types. If I was not on vacation would have shopped more there.
Just back from a mini-vacation in the French Quarter, and didnt return empty-handed!. Very impressed with the wide variety, the local presence and guidance on making selections. Also helpful are the multi-disc CD players with headphones that allow a customer to sample different discs across the different genres.Support your local music (store)!
I love a good record store, and this is a great record store. Huge used music inventory, too. As the name implies they have a fantastic selection of NOLA and Louisiana artists. I will be back.
Its the best place to find homegrown local music stretching across every genre. staff is very helpful the prices are reasonable and they host free in store concerts periodically with the release of the musicians new CD .
Well organized! Great selections! Friendly service! Worth going to if you are from out of town! Im from California, and was glad I came here! They do sell and have a great selection in 78 rpm records!
Great experience and an amazing store. Great selection of classic and local recording. Enjoyed our time and search through their large collection. Watch the hours.
Great collection of albums and AWESOME guys running it !👊🍄✌🏻
So much music in one beautiful shop! Also a shop cat! Everything you need!
Great place, nice selection of records. You could spend all day looking if you had the time. Since we were on vacation it was nice to see that they even sell a few souvenirs for the musician back home.
I think this is the best record store Ive ever visited! Great selection, very organized, they also sell CD, DVD, posters and other. A great jazz band was playing there when I visited so it was a pleasant surprise. You can buy local jazz band LPs there!
Really nice shop with a ton of stuff to look through. I found some African high-life jazz on vinyl! I recommend for New Orleans related stuff.
Louisiana Music Factory should be your first place to visit in the French Quarter. I cant say enough good things about this place or their staff. I bought a mountain of NO jazz last time I was in there and am sure to do so again! Their sheet music section is great too. This place is awesome!
Love this place. Great finds. I shop here every time Im in Nola
Love this store! Purchased some Tuba Skinny CD’s here! Worth the drive from Blacksburg, VA to New Orleans! One good turn..
All the local Jazz Lps, but gotta have a turntable!
Great place for new and old music, also check out the vast amount of retro and souls T-shirt’s! I make a visit every time I’m in the city.
If your are looking for the very best in New Orleans based music and much more this is the place to go. We love it!
Great place for new and used music. Helpful staff
Decent store near the French quarter! Great amount of vinyl.
Great selection of music in all types and styles. I liked looking at the selection while my husband was shopping. Prices were very fair as well and they all seem really knowledgeable about there products.
Always a pleasure
They have expanded their selection. It is an awesome music store. Vinyl & cds
Worth a visit. good selection and very fair prices. not much newer vinyl here so if your into that dont get too excited.
Long time favorite for buying local music. Knowledgeable staff, great selection. There are sometimes free in-store performances to publicize new releases.
They had some cool used vinyl. Lots of jazz and some funky New Orleans artists on new vinyl.
Great music store.
My husband is a real music lover and everywhere we travel he visits recordstores. Always looking for a new treasure. Many times these visits result in spontaneous conversations with employees. Music brings people together, right? Well, not in this store! The employees were sitting behind their desks, offered no help whatsoever and were very rude when my husband asked some information. What a big disappointment and a disgrace for a music mecca like New Orleans.
Superb collection of fine records and CDs. Also, if you are a musician looking for instructional material look no further!
If you want to find Local Music, Jazz, souvenirs etc this is the best place
Nice music store great selection. Saw a bunch of stuff I dont usually see at other record stores. Thought the prices were a bit high.
Always a great selection of local music, the new location is convenient but lacks some of the charm of the old. There is a great T-shirt selection just look up and dont miss the incredible Lego display in the entrance.
Good amount of vinyl. Lots of local stuff, older stuff(50s, 60s, 70s), jazz, motown, soul/R&B, and rock. No real (underground)hip-hop or electronic sections, which I was looking for. TONS of used 33s and 45s for $3. Picked up a Temptations and a Nat King Cole vinyl for $16 total.
Lots of inventory. Great deals can be found. And they have a cat!
If you want music - this is the place to be.Great recommandations, super helpful and spot on.You can listen to a lot of the new stuff on the spot before buying which is a huge plus!I wish I could have stayed longer there!!!
Great selection. I left with at least 4 records and their prices are very reasonable.
