My favorite record/cassette store in New Orleans, and probably the world. Amazing selection of international music organized by country, as well as killer dub and reggae, jazz, punk, hip-hop, classic R&B/soul, Louisiana records, and weirdo rarities. If Ive been looking for a record I cant find anywhere, they usually end up having it, and for an incredibly reasonable price. Easily the most affordable record store Ive ever been to. Their house-made mixtape cassettes and Domino label releases rule, cant recommend them enough. The best part: You dont have to flip through endless bloated reams of records to find gems. Their selection is truly only good stuff — I have a hard time leaving with less than four or five records each time I go.
Possibly the best record shop in New Orleans. Perhaps the world? I had the most obscure shopping list going in, and they easily had 98% of what I was looking for. Absolutely gobsmacked by their well curated stock of vinyl.
Looking for some hard to find records? This is a great spot! Prices are fair and they had some fantastic stuff that will really add some depth to your collection. A real treasure!
Great Indie record store exp. Lots of Dub and Reggae. Also Domino,s own release.
This has quickly become one of my favorite record stores. Great prices, very helpful people, so many different types of music, this is fantastic. Need to make sure you bring cash.
Amazing store! Great selection and equally great prices. Found so much rap and hip hop for unbeatable prices! Really had to control myself here, so much to choose from! It is cash only but considering the excellent selection, the more than fair prices, and friendly staff, that shouldnt be a deterrent.
Record shops are rare these days, and this is a great one.
Ive been to many record stores in the U.S. and even one in Canada. Domino Sound Record Shack is one of the best shops Ive been too. The prices are insanely cheap. There are many $10 new issue albums. There was a Dark Side of the Moon there for $6. The shop is hands down organized better than any shop Ive been to. If youre reading this and are thinking about going make sure you bring some CASH with you. Sales are cash only.
One of the best record shops Ive ever been to. Extremely well curated with all genres, but I especially love the reggae sections, both 45s and LPs. I have never been to a shop in the states that has such a great and expansive reggae selection. Prices are cheaper than the going rate of any other shop as their motto is We’re a shop, not a museum, and the records are priced with the idea that we might sell them. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Go go go
Awesome little spot for some eclectic crate digging. HUGE Punk selection for such a little store, both new and used 12, and lots of used 7. The only downside is that they are cash only
Friendly staff. nicely organized. smaller selection. not much new stuff. many obscure records. good prices
My fave record joint inna Easy by far. come for the personal low key vibe and heavyweight wax. super special scale easy imbibed. owner knows how to drop him some dub...
Great stock. Friendly staff. Great place. Highlight of the trip!
This record shop had good prices and a amazing selection.
CASH ONLY. Smaller shop that mostly deals in vinyl. Decent collection of Jazz, soul and indie records. The collection looks hand picked, so you dont have to flip through a bunch of junk to find a treasure.
Fantastic store...incredibly interesting collection. Good prices too.
This place is amazing. I found vinyl here that I didnt think existed. World music from Afghanistan to Zimbabwe.
Best selection of 45s in town. Cash only. Youll definitely find something you want/need.
Great selection of punk and rock. Found a few Nick Cave and Birthday Party albums that are pretty rare for good prices. Cash only.
Small but nice store. It was a little on the expensive side which wasnt that bad but they didnt take credit cards which I wasnt prepared for.
Best record store in New Orleans hands-down!Amazing eccentric well-curated collection, affordable prices, some real gems if you dig!
Cash only spot. Great selection with tons of variety.
Very rude, trying to buy records totally ignored me. Kept turning up the music in the store as I was trying to listen to the records I wanted to buy. I was the only person in the store. Horrible customer service.
Great digging. Bring cash
Best record store in the US. They have their own releases-cumbia, afro, ethio, new orleans. Other funky gems. In heart of 7th ward. You cant go wrong.
Love this place. A little gem in my neighborhood.
Awesome selection and prices. This is a mandatory stop every time I go to Nola.
Overpriced. Needs more 80s music. Smells like Patchouli and Walter Whites RV.
Honest deals. Great shop.
I got an unopened 180g Townes Van Zandt Our Mother The Mountain for $12. Nuff said.
What a great store. Highly recommended!
Great selection of LP, 7 and tapes
Best reggae selection in town🔥
Why would anyone go anywhere else!
Huge selection of all types of genres
It is a small store but with a good selection of music, you always find pleasant surprises. The neighborhood in which it is located is pleasant to walk around.
