Great bait store this is my go to bait store when I’m fishing the new Smyrna beach area they have great customer service and always have live bait and a bunch of fishing gear

No joke one great bait shop. Open long hours and kept neat and clean with large bait bins. Kind of hidden out in the back...once you find it youll be all set for the future. Been going here for years

Not open when they say they are. Showed up an hour after they were supposed to open and its a ghost town

45 min ride to my fishing spot and all shrimp still alive. And we did well with the flounder

Did not like that they wrote my CC number down on a clip board sitting on a table but otherwise decent service.

Great service, great bait and always the little place we stop into before hitting the water! They are also so very kind to our daughter, every time she loves to come in to help pick out bait and talk to the staff! ☺ The prices are just right too!

Service was quick store is set up nicely all the shrimp died before we even had it in the water bathroom was nasty and the toilet wouldnt flush as well as no soap in the bathroom

Have been going there for years... Thanks to the chunky old lady that was in there today I will never go back. No price tags on their items and when I inquired about the price she got an attitude.

Officially new ownership, for the better. Still the best bait shop in town. some prices have changed but are just as good if not better than any other bait shop around. The place has now enhanced its overall appeal, and one thing for sure still has the same great bait and same friendly staff. Can call ahead for certain orders as well. Very well knowledged of local water and do now offer boat rentals/charters.

Best place to buy live shrimp bc you can either choose the size or get assorted, ask for the fresh dead shrimp before buying frozen but make sure you look at the fresh dead before purchasing sometimes its nothing but small ones. This is definitely the best bait shop for shrimp. The only con about this place is when they sold most of their inventory, in Wich case Id recommend going somewhere else.(Dont guilt buy) . Friendly staff no issues with anyone there.they have been slacking lately.

One of the best shops around. they have some top of the line fishing reels and rods in store one of witch I purchased i spent about 170 on the combo and couldnt be more happy with the purchase and their bait is lively and stays alive for long periods of time. their light weight plyers are also very nice the people at the store are awesome always imformitive about fishing reports and has plenty of bait choices to pick from

The gentlemen working today was really kind and helped me figure out my game plan for the day and somewhere new to go. Ended up catching a bull red and 5.5ft blacktip. Thanks man!

38 Live bait is the best bait shop in New Smyrna. Call a day ahead and see whats in stock as great bait gets sold fast. Down to earth friendly people. Best bait shop in the area with great selection of live bait. It also offers the lowest prices among the area bait shops. A bit out of the way and not visible from the main road, but worth a visit. Do check with them about hours of operation, they tend to close early. The staff is very friendly and are usually a great source of information about what is biting and best time and locations for various species. This is hands down my go-to-place for fiddler crabs during winter sheepshead fishing trips. They also offer frozen bait for those of you that dont want to deal with live bait, however I highly recommend you use live bait instead for best results.

Anytime I go fishing in Daytona Beach New Smyrna or anywhere in the area I always stop by to get my bait from here. Theres very good quality bait and a good assortment of different baits at a reasonable price. Also if youre hauling a boat they have plenty of parking easy to get in and out of with a trailer. The staff is very friendly.

New to the fishing game, however I just bought 3 dozen live shrimp and 2 dozen pin fish all pin fish died by time we got to bridge only 5 mins away . Total 40 dollars pretty much wasted. Not a happy camper.

Salt Life for REAL! A bait store you say? Well check it out and youll find the amazing bait tanks highly entertaining. Authentic fishermen coming thru, and amazing different live baits they will tell you about if you ask. You are allowed to walk in and look into their live wells: Fiddler Crabbs, Blue crabs, bunch of fish types and sand fleas i mean its is a authentic hidden treasure for a fun time Florida Style.

I’ve been buying bait from this shop for years in my opinion they are great at what they do the only thing I hate is when it’s winter time because the girls that wear the short shorts that usually get the bait aren’t there to add eye candy to the service

Fresh dead shrimp ya right more live 2 day old shrimp never again will they get my business plus 4 dollars a half pound not worth itOk back after a year figure I would give yall another chance .... FAILED yet again ... Paid 25 bucks for 4 dozen shrimp and wasnt 4 dozen ... Man needs to learn how to count better ... Looks like 2 dozen so got ripped offNever again will I go to this place ..

AVOID this place especially if the old dudes are working...will completely rip you off...supposedly the guy gave me 4 dozen shrimp but it was obviously short and he wouldnt do anything about it...on top of it we ran out of bait in a few hours which never happens further proving I was shorted and ripped off! Younger kids that work there from time to time hook it up but I will walk out if I see the old dudes working there and Ill go somewhere else...guaranteed!

Supposed have gotten 3 dozen live shrimp and 2 dozen live pin fish, well when we got to where we are fishing at, they were all dead. never again buying from this place unless you can fix something to keep them alive longer.

I was in there to day, I`m 56 yrs old, Been going there for 15 yrs, and asked a simple guestion, Do you have any fresh dead shrimp? I was standing in the door way at the time. THE older women had her hand in a pool fishing out something by the door i was next to. there were two other men in line. She mumbled something, and i said politely excuse me what did you say, and she abruptly said in a bad tone of voice, I SAID I HAVE SOME, I`M GOT OTHER CUSTOMERS AHEAD OF YOU THERE`S A LINE THERE GET IN IT!!! So! i said i just asked a question.I no were the line is! THEN SHE YELD AND SAID GET OUT I~M NOT WAITING ON YOU DON~T COME BACK! SO GO SOME WERE ELSE! IM not going to take it, even if i have to find out who own this place i will get her fired!!!!

We ordered LIVE shrimps, 3 dozen BUT OBVIOUSLY THEY ARE NOT 3 DOZEN BUT MAYBE MORE LESS! Also half of them are DEAD!

Boo! They dropped their 50 shrimp special & jacked up the prices. The girls used to net the shrimp into your bucket by the scoop, giving you a few extras. Now they count out each shimp by hand... Ill get my bait next door now.
