I called this office and they gave me an appt the same morning, even though I am new to them.From the person who answered the phone, and the nurse that returned my call, the tech in the office also superb as was the doctor! I was visiting NSB and called for an emergency appointment secondary to severe pain in my eye. I was given an appointment within 2 hours and could not have asked for a better experience. Dr. Routh and staff are a professional, collaborative, caring team. After 2 days of medication relieved my situation, I was given a follow up appt the day I was flying out at 8am, was the first patient seen and was on my way in 15 min. To note, I was seen at one of the nationally recognized eye hospitals prior to my trip and it was Dr Routh who got the diagnosis right. Thank you to the great care team at Volusia Eye Associates!

I meant to do this review before now. I’m new to the area and I knew I need a new pair of glasses since I work on the computer all the time. Excellent customer service which sometimes I find it hard to find in today’s world. The glasses work perfectly for me, great follow up care, very professional and extremely clean office. I have now been a patient of Volusia Eye Associates for just over a year, so two annual exams as well as a corrective laser procedure when a problem developed with historical surgery carried out elsewhere. Have been seen mostly by Dr Routh but also Dr Heck. Both are first class and indeed the entire experience at the practice reflects their calm manner, friendly efficient staff making each visit a pleasure. If you are concerned about your vision and the health of your eyes I highly recommend this team.

A thorough exam at this optometrist revealed that I had been prescribed contacts by someone else 2 years ago that were way too strong! I had been suffering needlessly with a lot of frustration due to poor up-close vision. Wow. What a change. The one star reduction from 5 is because they were needlessly uptight about COVID. I simply wanted my (masked) wife to help me select frames in a showroom that was usually vacant and it was against their COVID policy, so they said no, but she could look in the window. I informed them that I thought this was over the top and went elsewhere to purchase glasses. Most businesses try to walk a line that strikes a balance between safety and reasonableness.

I had a wonderful experience from start to finish! Every member of the staff is extremely professional and courteous and my exam was very thorough. I highly recommend this practice!

I had my first visit to Volusia Eye Associates this week and I am very happy that I chose them for eye care. I was registered promptly upon my arrival and was called for my appointment right on time. Judy gave me a great exam, describing each step in detail and letting me know what she was doing. Dr. Knuckles was very comprehensive in his exam and explained all the details of what he was seeing in my eyes. Everyone was extremely helpful and friendly. I visited the New Smyrna Beach location, which was a great location with plenty of parking. They treat glaucoma, cataracts, and of course can help you with corrective lenses. I will never need to go anywhere else!

I can not say enough about the office staff and the physician I saw today.They are all amazing. I had an exceptional experience at Vision Eye Associates including the personable receptionist and knowledgeable Dr Heck and Bonnie Cleevy.After a thorough eye exam, Dr Heck kindly and gently removed an eyelash that I hadn’t realized was starting to become ingrown.It was no surprise to me that my prescription had changed & I needed new glasses. I tried a number of glasses but the ones I felt the most attractive in were the first ones Bonnie Cleevy suggested I try. My husband had the same experience when Bonnie helped him. She’s that good!When I complained to Bonnie about the difficulties I had seeing text, she suggested digital lenses. I took her advice and I am astounded at how much clearer I can now see with digital lenses. I can’t thank Bonnie enough for her patience & expert advice.This office really goes above and beyond. Bonnie texted me a picture of me in the frames I chose. The office gave me a water bottle as a thank you. And when I said I would be out of town for weeks Bonnie mailed me my glasses along with a bottle of cleaning solution and a cloth.

I has just arrived in New Smyrna after having eye surgery in Pennsylvania and was having a problem. After being told my my northern eye surgery office to seek medical attention, I called Volusia Eye Associates and was given a same-day appointment. Chelsea Heck, O.D., and her staff are friendly, compassionate, thorough, and professional. I was very pleased with their service and helpful attitude.

I recently went to VEA for the first time to get my eyes checked and some new glasses. I cant say enough about everyone in the office that I saw. The staff was very helpful in everyway. I have eyes that are very sensitive to light and they did everything possible to make me feel comfortable during the exam. When my glasses were ready I was unable to get to their store as I had a hip replacement 4 days before. They were very understanding and went above and beyond what I expected. One of the very nice ladies in the office offered to and did personally deliver my glasses to my house because she would be in my neighborhood. The glasses are great and so is the whole staff.Bill C

I honestly dont know where to start! Ive been wearing glasses since I was five years old and this experience with Volusia Eye Associates was one of the very best I have ever had. The entire staff was exceptionally friendly, professional, courteous and considerate. The eye exam given to me by Dr. Chelsea Heck and her assistant was thorough and I appreciated having the different steps explained to me. When it was time to choose my frames, I had a little bit of an emotional time since this was the first occasion to choose new frames since my husband passed away. He always helped me pick them out. Bonnie was so kind and said, Well, I am here and I will help you! And she did, too! Ani is a wonderful person and I enjoyed interacting with her. So, you see (I meant to put in that pun!), this was a most excellent appointment for me and I will continue coming here for many years to come. Thank yall so very much! Oh, and one more thing... the Contigo water bottle is awesome! And the free refills of the lens care solution is a great idea, too! Wow!!!

Volusia Eye Associates were able to see me in one day for, what I felt was an emergency. An eyelash was sticking my eye and causing pain. The doctor saw me and removed the eyelash. Everyone in the office was very nice. The wait was short making me feel like I was seen immediately. Ill go back if I ever need help while in New Smyrna.

Dr Routh saved my Husband eye sight. He was in the Hospital for 4 days in sever Pain in his Right Temple Area and Eye. Dr’s were considering doing Surgery, but called Dr Roth in to check his eyes. Thank God they did. Dr Routh DX him with Accute Glaucoma it was so bad he wasn’t able to get a pressure reading at all. My Husband was released from the Hopital and sent straight over to Dr Routh Office. Dr Routh done Laser on his eye the pressure was so bad Laser could not Penatrait his eye, but 3 time it was a success Dr Routh never gave up. His Pain was released and fluid buildup was released. He also check his left eye and the same thing was beginning in that eye he done Laser with no problem. I am so Thankful for Dr Routh he was caring and determined to to save his eye sight what a Success. Every one should make a appointment with his Office it could save you from going through what my Husband went through the sever pain and pressure was unbearable. So make that call get in if you want to prevent lose of eye sight and sever pain. Pick up that Phone after all it is your eye sight. Dr Routh is amazing Dr. without him my Husband would have had a Surgery he didn’t need to have. His Staff are Awesome also. So call now have those Beautiful eyes checked. I was in the Hospital for 4 nights in sever Pain in my Right Temple Area Dr’s we’re considering doing Surgery, but decided to call in Dr Routh to Check my eyes first. He found I had Accute Glocoma the pressure was so bad wasn’t able to get a reading. Dr Routh see me right after I was released from the Hopital that very afternoon in his Office. He done Laser to my eye to release the pressure of Fluid Buildup. Dr Routh saved my eye site. The pain went away the fluid drained and I was saved from a Surgery that I didn’t need to have.
