Very professional service. Friendly staff and no sales pressure. Explained everything in detail and cleaned the equipment in front of me. The best part is no waiting time, they serve you at your appointment time right away. No crowds and no more than one other customer at the facility together. I feel safe and comfortable there. The equipments are new and clean.

This was the best optometrist experience that I have ever had. Cannot recommend enough. Dr. Tang was incredibly knowledgeable and professional and really took the time to explain what was happening at every step of the process. Andres on the front desk went above and beyond to explain the billing and insurance process to ensure that I understood any potential charges and my insurance benefits. I felt extremely comfortable at every step of my appointment and they cleaned everything thoroughly before use which made me feel extra comfortable with COVID.

The staff are always courteous, helpful and professional. I really liked Dr. Crane when she was there but the new doctor Dr. Tan is very good too. They always try their best to address your complaints, explain the procedure theyre doing and the outcome, and make sure you have everything you need before you leave.

Been a patient here for 3 yrs. By far the most thorough eye exams I have ever had. I have a family history of glaucoma, and I appreciate the attention to detail.

I never do reviews, but I had to today. Our son is 8 with autism. As some can imagine doctor visits don’t always go well to say the least. Today, at Metropolitan Vision Downtown we had a very good experience. The ophthalmologist was awesome. He was welcoming, patient and thorough. Dr Tang definitely has great bedside manner with kids. You can see he is a natural with kids. I can’t recommend him enough.

Efficient service. I came in ahead of schedule and was greeted at the door with a temperature check. Registration was completed online prior to visit. The doctor was able to take me right in when it was my turn. He was very knowledgeable and kept me abreast of the results throughout each procedure during my visit.

The office was really clean and the staff was friendly and professional. They are very flexible on scheduling and really good at following up. I got my first scleral lenses fitting and they really took the time to dial in a perfect fit. Not even a snow storm closed this place down. I’m happy with my experience here so far.

Everyone from the front desk to the doctor was extremely helpful and nice. They even took the time to make sure to lay out exactly what benefits I had via my medical insurance and through my vision insurance, how long I had to exercise them, and recommend best path. Every one was so kind and accommodating. They really went above and beyond not just explaining the coverage and making sure I got only what I needed. Many other locations try to make you do so many uneccessary things for insurance so I love how honest they are. I really loved the doctor as well, he had a kind spirit and was also very patient and offered various options for my requests. This has been my favorite experience at an optometrist office. I will certainly return and do highly recommend them!

The facilities are exceptionally clean, and the equipment appears brand new and state of the art. Professional, clean new office with smart young staff. Everything felt very organized. I had a basic check up and eye exam. It was smooth and I got a new pair of glasses quickly. I felt there were lots of touch points to keep me informed of what was going on and doctors took the time to educate me and walk me through whats going on.Will definitely keep coming back for my checkups. I ran out of contacts and getting ready to go on vacation soon. Metropolitan gave me an appointment right away in their new downtown location which was literally steps from where I live. Dr. Jung, Dr. Tang and their staff were friendly, helpful and thorough. They accepted both my healthcare and vision care insurance which maximized my benefits. The office is super clean, well organized. They gave me a laundry list of tests which made me feel I was getting my money and times worth. I had a really great experience at Metropolitan Vision. I had to find a new doctor after permanently moving to the city and was hesitant on who to trust. If you’re trying to decide between a couple of places, I would definitely recommend trying them out!

Metropolitan vision downtown is the best!! The doctors are extremely professional, knowledgeable and caring. The exam is so thorough and they use the newest and best technology. They were even able to fix my broken lens right in the office! It’s a beautiful office with wonderful doctors and staff. I highly recommend them to all adults and children!!

My visit here was incredible! So thorough and thoughtful from start to finish. I walked away feeling like I had never had such a thorough eye appointment before. I worked with Angel to schedule a last minute emergency eye appointment both over the phone and online. Angel was so kind and helpful, and super fast at returning emails and getting necessary paperwork to me! The actual appointment itself was with Dr. Andrew Tang. He was extremely thorough & took his time, which I appreciated. He listened to my concerns, and took many different measures to make sure I was getting the proper care I needed - he even walked me through what he was doing and why, showing me images of my eyes. I would recommend this place a thousand times over!

Great optician and fully accepted Davis Vision for exam and glasses. Part of NYSDMV’s Online Vision Registry, so no need to fill out the MV-619 in paper. Staff was awesome and office spacious & clean + the took appropriate COVID precautions. Their Davis Vision glasses selection worked well for me.

Dr. Emily Crane and her staff was amazing!! From the minute you step into their office, you feel like youre in a spa and zen like atmosphere. You can tell they carefully designed and built the space for eye exam like no other offices can provide. They are extremely professional, detailed oriented and caring. I came in for floaters and Dr. Tang did a comprehensive eye exam. The exam was extremely thorough and I had lots of questions throughout. Dr. Tang was patient and answered all of my questions, which means a lot to me. Office is modern and clean.

Very thorough. They check the overall health of your eye- much more than just a vision test. Also, they fit me in at the last minute when my benefits were expiring. I feel comfortable seeing any doctor in this practice at either location. The doctors and staff are not only professional but very attentive, kind and personable. They also have state-of-the art equipment. (None of that little air puff to the eye.) I went to the 13th street location for the first time over 10 years ago and have been a patient ever since. I don’t think you can find a better optometry/ophthalmology practice.

Dr Crane is absolutely remarkable and clearly takes a genuine interest in informing you of everything she is reviewing. Did an annual eye exam there. As all other comments said, Dr. Crane is really nice. She examed the eyes quite carefully in a professional way. And you feel relaxed during the process (always feel nervous when doing eye exams). She is willing to explain what is going on clearly and give detailed advise. Plus, they care about your situation! Highly recommended.

The front desk staff and technicans were very helpful and explaining my insurance plan with me and what testing they were doing. Edited 7/22/20: The staff contacted me after the first phase of covid reopening and offered to fix the lenses for free instead of that amount they said before and apologized. I appreciate the effort to fix it. I am editing to change the rating to 3 stars as I am skeptical that the change in attitude was due to the initial review I had posted.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I wanted to share my experience so that you can consider whether or not you want to go visit this office or go to another or just be careful when you go. I visited and the staff scratched up my existing glasses and refused to take responsibility for it.In earlier March, my eyes were bothering me and after going through a lot of reviews on the doctors and facilities, I made an appointment to see Dr. Tang on Friday, 3/6/20. I only had computer glasses from my last doctor so they asked me to bring those glasses with me. When I arrived, After signing in, Andres asked for my glasses to test my prescription with a machine that brings lenses down like a microscope to my glasses lenses. After a bit, I got it back and met with Dr. Tang.Dr. Tang asked to look at my glasses so I gave it to him and told him that the front desk tested for the prescription. He looked at it quickly, made a face and then returned it to me. After my examination, since he was not able to identify any issues, Dr. Tang recommended that I get new glasses with a slightly lower prescription and blue light filter which would help with the strain on my eyes from the computer. I picked out frames and lenses and paid $200+ for the glasses to be ordered. Since my eyes were dilated, I didnt go back to work after and did not touch my glasses.On Monday, 3/9/20, when I returned to work, I realized that there were giant circular scratches in the middle of both of my lenses to the point it fully blocks the point of vision. I called the office and told Andres about it and he said he would help me with that when I go pick up my new glasses. When my glasses were finally ready for pick up on Monday 3/16/20. Getting the glasses fitted only took a few minutes.Then, Andres asked to see my old glasses and said unfortunately, they cant prove that the scratched were made by them. The scratches are literally circular scratches in the middle of the lenses that matches where the the equipment touched my lenses.I tried to reason with him but he said the only courtesy they can do was to charge me $25 to replace the lenses. I didnt feel like arguing so I asked how long it would take, he said he couldnt do it today and told me to leave it with him. The girl next to him chimmed in and said it would be a leap of faith at this point to leave it with them since they dont know what would happen with COVID so she recommends me to not leave it. I decided against leaving it there and within a day or so, I got an email that they were closed so good thing I didnt leave it there.I didnt think I would need to immediately check my glasses after it was checked since I assume they knew what they are doing but I learned my lesson there. I didnt initially know why the doctor made a face when he saw my glasses in the examination room. Now thinking back, I assumed it was because he saw the scratches and didnt want to say anything, but I wouldnt know for sure.Dr. Tang was nice and the clinic staff were nice overall but putting giant scratches on my glasses and then refusing to take responsibility especially since I also purchased glasses from them was really disappointing. Honestly, overall experience is standard. I switched to a new place because the my previous location is so out of the way now. Ive had my glasses for more than 4 years and never had a scratch on them until then since I only wear it occasionally and I have OCD. I wrap the glasses back each time with the dust cloth before putting it back into the hard case. I still wanted to keep the old ones as spare.

With so many eye options out in the city it was easy to get lost in eye care as many establishments are about turnover without any relationship with their customers but to find a optometrist that actually cares about your eye care and wants to build a long term relationship with their customers definitely won me over.I love that everyone is so friendly and accommodating at Metropolitan Vision downtown and made my visit very comfortable.

I was originally a patient at the original Metrovision on 13th St, but with a change in jobs, their downtown location is much easier for me to get to. The office and facilities are beautiful and clean, the staff is incredibly helpful and nice, and Dr. Tang is knowledgeable and professional. If you work or live downtown, I highly recommend making an appointment here!
