Just walked in here to ask about some tires. Four people behind the counter. Waited for a customer in front of me to finish. He left and the 4 people just carried on their own personal conversation until I finally left. No one attempted to greet or help me as I stood in front of them. Not one mask... no plexiglass. Crossed over to Wheel Works. Great service.

$60 for a tire rotation and 3-4 hour time window. No thanks. It didn’t seem like a long line of cars before mine but the guy behind the counter didn’t seem to care to talk to me anymore. Take your business elsewhere. Somewhere with reasonable prices and not a crazy wait. If you want something nearby just go across the street instead.

Today I had a tire replaced on my BMW. Not only were the employees knowledgeable, but super courteous with reasonable prices. When I got back to my car I realized that all four tires had a dressed finish. Customer service at it’s finest! Thank you!

George, Price and the whole team at this shop are wonderful. I am so happy I found them. Will return without hesitation and will definitely refer these guys to my friends and family. They accommodated my schedule with a same day turn around on a full brake service. Car drives better than ever. The quote was fair. Service was excellent. They walked me through the inspection, showed me what I had that needed repair, were very honest. Then they drove me home and picked me up at the end of the day when all was done. Such kind people. Despite six cars ahead of me on a balmy Wednesday afternoon, the Big-O Service Team came thru huge for us and repaired a tire vs. screw stalemate. Its a pleasant waiting experience where you can run errands at a nearby Dollar Tree and/or hit-up Wendys or Popeyes for some enjoyable snack options. My trust in a notoriously untrustworthy skilled professional space continues to soar. I plan to return soon to keep my Honda Element gliding smoothly on the Newarkian thorofares. Was great to have a tire looked at on the heavy haul trailer that was low and seemed to not be holding air. Turned out to be nothing and they didn’t charge. Thurs. Jan 2ndLiterally, the first time I trust someone else to touch my car.Not sure how they measured my oil, but definitely not what I expected.I kinda kept an eye on what they were doing, but they took my tires off before realizing I was only there for an oil change. I have staggered wheels - those cant be rotated.Also, took off my entire splash guard to change oil, even though theres a clip to access the drain plug.Waited 4 hrs. I dont mind waiting all day, as long as the job is done correctly.This was not.Edit:Visited again on Tuesday Jan 7th.I wish I came to a resolution, but I did not.The guy who helped me this time literally lied to my face, then he took a second to get a second voice,then came back with all types of rebuttals to avoid some kind of escalation (apparently I should know better. This is clearly my fault because I have modified parts on my car. If this were the REAL excuse, then why work on my car in the first place? If you measured oil, and it failed to check completely, why would you give me my keys back? {b.s. they didnt measure it, I checked the history on my car, it wasnt measured after the oil change}And, I got the oil error again after leaving, but because they see that I have other issues with my car through OBDII (and I do, Ive had the same issues since 2016) they can help me, but only if Im willing to pay to diagnose my car.Also, my oil catch can has metal grinds on it now.

BiG-O Tires in Newark, their whole staff and crew are very Professional & Courteous, and the inside of the store is very clean as well as the restrooms. Highly recommend them for your tire and service needs.

If you want an overpriced service. This is the place to go.Changed the brake pads. Resurfaced the rotors (for some reason they refuse to replace them). Charged $350+.... Theyre still screeching and now they say we need to replace the rotors.... And why werent they replaced to begin with? Seems like they stripped away the metal from resurfacing them so we would just have to come back and pay them more money to replace the rotors. Oh and other places charge the same amount to replace the brake pads AND replace the rotors as well. So like I said. If you want an overpriced service. This is the place for you.

Service was great.Came in with a flat and the small spare installed.Christian got me in quickly.They fixed the flat, inspected the other tires for screws.They put the spare tire, jack, jack handle, lug wrench, tray, cover and carpet back nice and clean.

Went to get my brakes fixed. The associate told me they dont repair the rotors, but only resurface them. Which he told to me after the work was already started. I paid $357 for the break pads to be replaced & the resurfacing of my rotors. A month passes & I notice the brakes are screeching again. I have them take a look at the brakes. Im told that my rotors are heating up & they look like theyre worn out & will need to be replaced soon. What a coincidence that now theyre all of a sudden worn out after I got them resurfaced a month ago. Im a full time student and the only places I drive to is school (5 min drive) & the grocery store. They told me that the rotors were likely a result of my driving up & down hills or bad driving habits. Neither of which I do/have. Why are my rotors now so conveniently worn out after you guys resurfaced them last month? Seems like theyre worn out because thats what resurfacing your rotors do.It should have been replaced to begin with. It removes the thickness of them by removing the metal & making them thinner & dont last as long. I paid $357 for a service that shouldve replaced the rotors for that price. Ive gotten quotes at other places that charge $350 for replacing both the brake pads & rotors. I feel pretty ripped off.

The staff was welcoming and professional with me and my mothers appointments. I greatly appreciate how patient they are and how informative they were for my cars information.

Im six months pregnant and waiting for my tires to be done. I wait for an hour and a half in the lobby. Four other people get tires before my car even gets moved at all. All these people came in after me and I have been here since 12:45 it is now 2:50 and still waiting. Super disappointed seeing as I only do my tires at this shop. Sad to say they have lost my business for good.

The service was great. I came in to get 2 new tires. The customer service was excellent. Also they showed me underneath my car and that I had 2 oil leaks. Glad they showed me. I’ll be coming back to my other 2 tires replaced.

WOW. I cant believe they are in business as bad as this experience was. Unless your vehicle breaks down right in their parking lot, i would avoid this place at all costs. If i were to describe each phase of what went bad, i would be writing a novel (maybe another day). Plus, they are still trying to fix what they already broke (day 2 here).

The Newark Big O, hands down are the Best full-service auto shop in town, they are upfront and honest with their expertise and work with you to get the best price for your auto needs. Jason & his team are great at what they do and I wouldnt go anywhere else.

I went to Big O today with a flat tire and got all 4 tires replaced and the car realigned in 2 hours(all of which were needed.) They were closing early but took care of me even when they did not really have time for which I am very grateful. They were honest and competitively priced. I also witnessed them show compassion to a wayward young man which was refreshing and rare to see these days. I will definitely return to Big O in the future and will not hesitate to recommend them to friends.

The customer service at this location was fantastic. I came in with a Groupon, as the website listed them as a participating site, but when I arrived, it turned out they were not. Rather than turn me away, they honored the price I paid for the Groupon without batting an eye. Awesome service and it turned around an annoying situation. Definitely coming back here for all my oil

I havent had many great experiences with car/tire shops but for whatever reason I continue to have great service at Big O Tires. I used to visit the store on Fremont Ave before it closed, and now I regularly visit the Newark location for my oil changes and tire-related needs. Highly recommend!

I was very happy with my visit yesterday to Big-O in Newark. Ive purchased some trailer tires and other tires there in the past, so it was natural for me to go in when I found a nail in one of my Jeep tires. I was about 3rd in the queue for repair work, and in less than an hour they had pulled the nail (and a screw in a different tire that I hadnt even seen), and did it at no charge since the air was not leaking out of either tire. Nice surprise! Thanks guys.

Walk in customer has to wait 10 minutes for tire sales information. Kicker is, I was the only customer. A lost sale of $600 due to they were unable to accommodate my tire request. Who drives 168mph W rated. I wanted a V rated 149mph tire. They declined selling a set of tires.

I went in for an oil change and they found a few more issues that needed fixing. This place has very polite and a great staff. Definitely recommend this place and I will for sure be coming back whenever I need my car looked at.

I had brought in my vehicle a couple of times for loosing air in one tire. The first time they located a screw in the tire which they repaired at no charge. The second time they found nail which they also repaired at no charge! They stated that they will get to the bottom of this and they did. Thank you for eliminating the need to fill the tire daily!

I have been bringing all my cars to this store for wheel/tire replacement and break & suspension issues. I always have a very nice experience in all occasions Ive been here. Jason is an honest person, he is a straight shooter and no B.S.

This review is solely based on my one experience earlier this week. and not on my previous- great experiences.I called the store on Monday 6/17 at 3:30 pm to ask availability to check out my vehicle (low tire pressure light on, tires still under warranty). I was advised to come in- i arrived at 3:40 pm. When i walked in, i noticed that one of the usual advisers that helps me was very busy so i waited my turn, but noticed that another service adviser was available. I was not greeted by her and had to ask for her assistance. I let her know that i called ahead of time and was told to come in. She seemed very unpleasant and as if i were bothering her for assistance. She said you should probably pull up the car to the first lot to read the tire pressure to see if any service is even needed.I pull up the car and had to bother a technician to take the readings. He tells me that all tires are reading low especially the rear right (which i suspected). After the reading i go back inside and the service adviser is no where to be found. I wait, and i wait and she doesnt return.Once Christian is done helping his line of customers he asks if everything was taken care of. I explained to him that i was left unattended with no follow through. He goes back and gets the tire readings from the technician, and i also let him know that at my last visit, my tire rotation was never performed because apparently there was no time. I asked if that could be taken care of too. He expressed to me that that shouldnt have been the case but agrees to get it taken care of and has me leave the car to get serviced.It is now 6 pm and i havent heard back from anyone so i make my way back to the shop. I noticed that my car is in the same spot that i parked it. I walk in and no one is in the booths. I wait a few minutes and Melissa appears and lets me know that my car hasnt been worked on and that there is one car ahead of me. I asked how long the service would take and she estimated 45-60 minutes, but i was confused as they close at 6pm. She could clearly see that i was disappointed as i had expectations that my vehicle was going to be serviced and ready to go.I had people go out of there way to pick me up and dropped off- and all for nothing (If there was no time for my vehicle to get serviced a simple phone call would have been appreciated, or schedule me an appointment for another day) No resolution was suggested, so i asked her what she recommended. Should i leave my car and wait, should i schedule an appointment?I ended up scheduling an appointment for the following day. I dropped off my car around 10 am and got a call back at 12:30 pm letting me know it was ready. I picked up the car at 3:30 pm and was checked out by Christian and all went well.I have been coming here for 10+years and usually receive great customer service. I am typically called with updates on my vehicles, alerted of any findings and suggested services, but unfortunately that has not been the case the last two times that i took my vehicle to get serviced.Working in customer service myself i know what it takes to make your customers/clients happy. And i feel like there is some room for improvement here. Sadly one employees lack of customer service effects the customers experience and your stores reputation. I hope that my next experience is just as it used to be-- great and pleasant!

I have no excuse for a new car - this particular Big-O does a great job keeping my 97 Infiniti Q45 going with 250k miles! And at HALF the price the dealer wants for the same services!

Very bad experience in this place. The staff are rude and the service they do is not proper. When we ask them for not doing something they just cover it up with stories. If you can, please avoid this place. There are many better places around the area.

UPDATE So I just took my car to the Big O Tires in Berkeley. When I got there, the only difference in the service was that they asked me if I knew about some kind of a Groupon code. I told them that I did not.. and yet, they still gave me the Groupon price for an entire AutoCheck. I paid 50 bucks and I got everything changed.One thing that the Big O Tires here in Newark did that the Berkeley shop also did was let me know that my front shocks were leaking. The only difference is that the Big O Tires in Newark was already quoting me for the leak and it was an obscene number. The Big O Tires here in Berkeley just let me know that there was a shock leak and it let me go on my way. That was it for me. I was sold.Im going to be going to this one from now on. Everyone there actually speaks to you as if theyre your buddy who has a garage.

Newark California store, Staff very slow, and it’s a waste of time, prefer to go some other big o tier store. I visited them to change the oil for my Accura, teacher @2.30pm and they said six cars are ahead of me, and may take three hours. Agreed and waited for my turn at 7 pm they said still three cars are ahead and I will have to drop the car for night !!!!!!!!Imagine me spending so many hours at the store and they never updated me about they will not be able to serve me. Careless people. They are spoiling the name good will of big o Tires.

Ive been going to the Big-O in Newark since I moved to the city in 1995. The store has always been community-friendly. When Jason White took over as Manager, everything went up a few notches. Of the improvements, customer services is at the top. Ive witnessed and experienced the service managers work with each customer based on their situation, budget and time constraints. They make it happen for all our Newark residents.

They have quickly become one of the places I dread most now days. They are worse than going to the dealer. Some of the staff need more customer service training because its obvious they dont know how to be kind or even listen to a customer. The wait here is ridiculous. Even for a simple flat tire fix, they couldnt squeeze me in. I waited 4 hours last time for an oil change and almost an entire day for a tire rotation. Dont come here unless you absolutely have to.

Our experience at this BIG-O in Newark has always been great. From checking low tire pressure to full servicing we have always been treated courteously and professionally..

Car experts helped me understand the problems with my car.. Very friendly and clean place.. Dont forget to take your coupon with you.. They do a great job. Sorry need to change the rating from five to one coz they missed to check the nail on the tire and got a flat tire the next day..

I’m customer of this place for many years but the last experience that I had was no good at all. I took my Van Ram1500 for alignment issue at the end of the job they charged me around $2000 and they never resolved the problem also they took 2 weeks for nothing, I’m very disappointed ):

Bring your own oil and filter. Theyll do the oli change and a full safety inspection of your vehicle for only $25!

My first time and certainly will be the last time. went to get my oil changed waited for about an 1.5 hr just to be told that they werent able to do the job bcos of a stripped drain plug. Went to Firestone and their competent worker replaced the drain plug and changed the oil without no problem. Im so happy I didnt buy my tires from them for my FIAT after reading the reviews .Ps.If you look at the reviews they will only respond to the GOOD REVIEWS .... Thats how you can tell how awful this company is...They will not address their wrong doing or how they can make it right for you.

Jason and his employees have always been great to me and my wife and thats why we will not go anywhere else. A couple weeks ago, my wife got a flat tire. Unfortunately it was almost closing time and Big O Tires, Newark was packed. Jason went out of his way to accommodate us knowing I had a meeting that night out of town and my wife had to be at work at 5am. The tire fix couldnt wait and he didnt want her to drive on the spare. Jason took care of it without question. Awesome customer service! As a result of their continued excellence, I brought my wifes SUV back in this past week, this time for a full set of new tires and oil/filter change. Went with his recommendations and had the Michelin Defenders installed. What a huge upgrade from what she had. Loves the ride, the look and how quiet they are. Once again, awesome service and great price. As a result, I will be scheduling my 2018 Duramax for new tires here soon. Thanks again for keeping me and my family safe on the road.

Without hesitation Big O Tires of Newark Manager Jason White provided me with an attractive sale price on four 275/60R20 115T Cooper Discoverer RTX BLK tires with an aggressive road-and-off-road tread for my 2011 Dodge Ram 1500 4 x 4 pickup truck. The tires reap excellent ratings. The very next day I received a prompt telephone call informing me my new tires had arrived at the center. Anxious to serve, Manager White encouraged me to bring in the truck right away and I cancelled my morning appointment for the tire change at the center. I received prompt professional service and could not be more delighted with my safe new tires. My only suggestion would be that the tire experts clean the dirt off the wheels that would apply so the customers see a shiny presentation when their vehicles are returned to them after tire service. Asked to put 2 new tires on front of my truck and align it. They put the new tires on the back. Then they said they couldnt align it because it needed this and that. Quoted a price of 900 dllrs to fix problem. No thanks. Took it to Garcias Tires and Brakes and they said the alignment was fine. Big O is, never go there, please.
