I was looking to add a deck to our home. My dad, who is handy, has always said 84 lumber provides the highest quality lumber. He and others have told me a number of times how you can’t compare Lowe’s or Home Depot to 84’s supply.I purchased a deck kit from 84 because it’s my first time building a deck and I was willing to spend extra for the quality they are known for.I am not exaggerating when I say the wood they dropped off for the kit looked like the bottom of the pile at Home Depot. Everything is bowed or knotted. Even the The 4x4s are warped. Im choosing to believe it’s because they save the good stuff for contractors and assume laymen buying a deck kit won’t care. I know my dad was embarrassed by his own recommendation though and that I won’t be purchasing from 84 again.

As my small business grew, I tried to get my supplies here, rather than home depot, but it turned out to be a pretty bad experience. I placed my first order of premium boards, was told it should be around 5 days. Called back the next week & found out they hadnt even put my order through. When they did come in, they werent exactly premium quality.Placed a second order, and 3 weeks later still had not received a call that it arrived. I then stopped by, and the boards werent even the ones I had ordered & they had to cut them down to length. And some were too short to use.Additionally, nearly every employee either wore their facemask around their neck or didnt have one at all, despite state law requiring them, and a sign at the door stating that requirement.Its been a very bad & unreliable experience & I wont be returning.

Worst place, never delivered product and never refunded. When asking for proof of delivery, no documentation, cheaters

For four weeks I’ve had managers and assistant managers tell me my window was ordered. I’ve called over 10 times to people telling me they will call me back and no one ever calls me back. I just want my window its been over 4 weeks and no one can give me a straight answer, everyone keeps giving me the run around. I just want my window and someone to give me a damn straight answer.

With all the big box home improvement centers where you have to walk a mile from one aisle to another, this place is a breath of fresh air with everything you need in one spot.

Got 2 different quotes for for a sliding patio door another for deck railing. Stopped on friday to order it but wanted to order a different door handle. Was told to come back Monday since they didnt have an answer. Called Monday 3 times and each time never returned my call with an answer. Tuesday I decided to just order the railing. Called 2 times to placed the order both times I was told they would call me back to see when the brackets would be instock. My wonder is that 84 lumber does not want to do business with me. Called 84 lumber in Claymont De and was treated like a customer.

Dont give them a set of blue prints to give you a materials list because you wont get them back let a lone the material list! they have had my prints for two weeks and when I went back for the material list and my blue prints they didnt have a clue where my prints are or even who I was. NOT A WONDER THEY NEVER HAVE ANY CUSTOMERS!
