I am fairly disappointed with this store as of late. Before COVID, this was one of the places I liked to go to for games and etc. Im not sure if it is new policies or new management but the new staff are not as friendly as they used to be. I greatly dislike writing reviews but this place has earned it. It all started when I tried getting an xbox series X for myself. The manager at the time forced me to get the year of warranty and gamestop pro rewards and a controller in order for me to get it. From what I understand, with every warranty and pro membership sold, the person who made the sale gets a kick back from it. This alone is predatory behavior and starts to enter scalper territory in my opinion. For todays experience, I was trying to sell some games to them that I had never opened as I never played them and was not interested in playing them. They all had the original wrapping on them since I dont like opening something I will not use. The employees in blatantly told me that I stole the games and that they might call authorities. This is ridiculous.

The cashier was very thorough. It was annoying how long she took with each customer, at first. Then when it was our turn she knew her stuff and gave unbiased responses to our questions which helped us make the best choice for us. That is rare.

Again, awesome customer service. Staff are very energetic and helpful. Got all the advice I need about their reward system. 🤗

TOTALLY DISSATISFIED! The sign on the door says this store opens at 11am on Sunday. It is now 11:20am and the store is still not open. This is terrible CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! IM LEAVING TO PURCHASE MY GAMES ELSEWHERE.

The store is great for what it is. Im still looking for some integration to the coming technologies (PS5 becoming mainly digital, etc.), but its a great place to buy the consoles or even find good deals on older gen consoles

Horrendous customer service, the clerk was berating me in front of my family. I was at this location today to pick up a game for my 8-year-old son. I am currently disabled and cannot walk without assistive devices. My wife and I brought the game box to the counter that we wished to purchase and the woman working the counter said that they didnt have the game but they leave the boxes up anyway for some reason. She didnt offer to help us in any way toward the purchase of the game.When my wife me and my son were hobbling out of the store son was upset and I said to my wife that I feel like we came out here for nothing and she embarrassingly yelled in front of the story of me and said then dont come out. I wasnt even talking to her, it was humiliating. I doubt I will ever go back to that store again.

Best spot for new and used games..

This has always been my favorite Game Stop location for more than ten years. The staff is always helpful and professional compared to other locations (including the Christiana Mall location) and are always stocked with what Im looking for. I like to come here to buy my next console just to help out this location.

Suburban Plaza is the best one in the Newark area, Peoples Plaza is a close 2nd place, & if youre smart just avoid Governor Square. I put Governor Square in 10th place, & the sad thing is theres only 3 in Newark. This store does have good employees, but the reason I gave them 4 ★s & not 5 is because they sold the copy they were holding for me during 2017 Holiday Season.

Ive been going to this gamestop for YEARS since I was young, Ive seen managers come and go right now it has one of the good ones! They are very helpful and do a great job of the midnight releases.

Game Stop is Game Stop. Small,crowded & annoying lol I have 4 boys & have spent half of my life there. Get in & out fast is always my goal. But I do find that the associates are always friendly, helpful & knowledgeable

Got everything I expected out of the visit. Had to go to more than one store to get what I needed but all the staff there were friendly and gave helpful info on the system and the games that I bought. Also explained what I needed to get full value from my systems.

I used to go here all the time with my kids to get them new games from the discount section. They have good prices on buying used and give credit or cash for turning in/selling back games. Staff is always friendly. Its a small location. You can also reserve or be placed on a wait list for newly or anticipated release games or systems.

Good place when you go in. Try calling though and they wont pick up, even if you call for 20 mins straight. Cant even be put on hold

They acted like we were trying to steal from them. We went there for about 20 minutes and the repeatedly asked us if we needed help, which we politely said no each time. They watched us very closely the whole time. Then my boyfriend asked them if they ever played the game he was interested in and they were very short with him, they said no and that was it, which is fine, but weird because normally they would try to talk with us about it a little bit maybe say no but I know people who have and they enjoyed it. Then when my boyfriend went to purchase his items, they I.Dd him before he even gave them his card, which the employee kept looking at it and then my boyfriend before giving it back. It was extremely weird and made us feel like we were doing something wrong. We will not be returning.

They dont explain anything and get an attitude when you walk up and they are on their phones the whole time. They really just want you out. I called 4 times and have to drive 15 mins. Horrible.

Best place to get video games but wish u got more for trade ins not right u spend 60$ on a game just to get 10/15$ back

My son of course loves this place. Although their prices are way too high and not on the new games as most places charge the same for those unless you catch a sale elsewhere. But their used games are ridiculously high and you can get them cheaper elsewhere. Also what they give you as a trade-in credit is extremely ridiculous and unfair especially when you look at how much they are making off of them.

Dont much care for video games. Unfortunately, my son loves them and since hes doing good in school, we indulge him. Went there twice this Christmas and I have to hand it to them, they got people in and out much quicker then I remember previously. Also bought an ASUS Transformer Prime tablet from them years back, and they had the best price on preorders.

The staff are awesome. Takes a gamer to know one & they definitely knew their stuff.

The employees are always friendly and seem to know what they are talking about. My only beef with this place is its always cramped with displays and it can take a long time to get rung up

Games on Video, lots, staff are polite & professional, upsell they will ! Red Redemption 2, Christmas Present Grandson. They seem to be seasoned gamers who can explain the games in detail !Good place to buy the latest & classic games !

Usually nice people, they probably have what youre looking for or can get it if its not currently in the store. Can be crowded at times and certainly high on the retail pricing.

This is a small shop. Understaffed. The clerk did not really want to take the time to help us with our xBox 360 problem. His excuse: I have a line (of other customers). Basically told us to buzz off and come back later.

Just discovered they are no longer have the elite membership, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The 4 for $20 sale is going on now. Pro day sale was ok, nothing to jump and down on although I did find one game $20 off. They are finally getting more ps4 games for under $10 that are not sports.

Ive never been a fan of gamestop due to their underhanded methods of business but I cant complain about this establishment, I havent been a very frequent buyer but the few times Ive been in there Ive had a good time, the employees are knowledgeable and nice.The selection is pretty great and aside from the internet there are not many options left. With everything going digital nowadays gamestop is standing on its last leg the only thing that is keeping it relevant is that digital download prices are still too high and the companies behind consoles dont want to budge. A good example of this is PC gaming, youll rarely see a PC game section in a game stop nowadays due to PC gaming being incredible affordable and games being on sale almost 300 days of a year.I do recommend this store if you want the hands on experience, but if you want the best bang for your buck you might want to try amazon or ebay. At least until gamestop decides to do Price comparison, but Im sure they will save that for their real last leg.

Best place to go for advise ask for rob

I went to buy a remote for Xbox 1. I was the only customer but the lady behind the desk thought it was more important to complain to her manager on the phone about how bad her other employees are instead of helping me. When I called her out on her hypocrisy she shrugged and continued to ignore me while talking on the phone. Needless to say I didnt spend my money here and will likely never return to this location.

This one & the one in Kirkwood plaza are the best in new castle county, the one in suburban plaza freaking sucks. Mike & Shane are the worst people I have ever met

Tons of stuff but not enough room for everything. Store tends to be cluttered with tons of merchandise. Not enough room for customers to look at merchandise. Staff is very friendly though and will go back if needed. Plenty of parking.
