Best place to have a drink and watch the game. Very spacious with reasonable prices you probably wont find anywhere else. Plus one of the few restaurants in the area offering a dine-in option. The food was decent but could use, at the least, a bit more effort. Overall a pretty good experience. I will definitely return...cheers!

It took over 40 minutes to get simple wings mozzarella sticks and fries. Other table was served after my table entered. Mgr only took of 10%after 40 minute wait. The wings were supposed to be Buffalo sauce a sauce just not that. The ranch was too much water. The chicken &mozzarella sticks were good.
This was a recommended place to meet up with my daughter, after I got off the plane at Newark. My cell phone died, we had trouble parking, and the staff could not have been more kind and helpful. I plugged my phone in, got hold of my girl, and eventually we all three had a great lunch. Terrific pizza, unusual but good garlic thin sliced bread, nice wine and beer list. Lovely atmosphere too. A+ in my book!

Great non pretentious spot to eat prior to a show. Nothing fancy, but pizza done right. We were seated only after 5 to 10 minutes. Fast service and friendly. Cassandra was our server and she was great. Artisan style (not round). Margarita pizza was our choice We also had mozzarella sticks and Caesar salad.
I work in the area and Im here at least once a week. This is currently the best pie in downtown. Absolutely knocking it out of the park. Plenty of ways to order, food always comes out fast, you can even grab a beer while you wait. But most importantly, the pizza is fantastic- thin enough to be crunchy and excellent quality toppings, especially the pepperonis that curl up when baked.
We ordered a margherita pizza and pasta for pickup and they accidently gave our order to a different customer. We were given a simple apology and told to wait for another 15 to 20 minutes. After receiving our order, we left and returned home to find that they had given us the wrong pizza. We received a plain cheese pizza but were charged the price of a specialty one. The pizza was all right but the customer service and organizational skills of this establishment require significant improvement.
This place is lit. The staff that work there stick together. An they treat the customers like family. They even stayed open longer just to let others an me an mines eat a great dinner.

Really good brick oven pizza, and sandwiches. A staple place for eating prior to Devils games. Additionally, they are the food stand provider for Riveters games at the RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House (former Amerihealth Pavillion) next to the Prudential Center.
Ordered a cheese-free pie with basil & mushrooms. Good dough and sauce. Mushrooms were flavorless and rubbery. Tastes like they might have been frozen, which would have been fine if they had been roasted and possibly marinated before being added to the pizza. Definitely wouldnt order a mushroom topping again. But, w/o the mushrooms, the pizza was very good. Request: Please offer more vegetable toppings for your vegan/vegetarian customers (roasting/marinating beforehand helps a lot with flavor). Various peppers and artichokes would be great. Offering a veggie meat topping like crumbled seitan (Blaze and &Pizza do this) would be fantastic. Definitely makes for a more filling option. Fake mozzarella has a gross mushy texture (no matter the brand), so I definitely dont recommend adding that option. Toppings are way TOO expensive. Things like mushrooms and spinach shouldnt cost $2 each. Thats needlessly overpriced anywhere, let alone Newark. Toppings arent even that expensive in New York.
This Market Street pizza and burger joint serves up a great pie. We had a pretty basic bacon and pepperoni, with large strips of high quality bacon — none of that minced or ground bacon junk. :)Service was great. The “famous chicken sandwich” hit the spot but didn’t hold a candle to some of the fried chicken sandwiches we have back home where food is more inspired by southern cooking.Great place to sit down and have a meal with a large party. Great for families and kids.

Me and my fiance went here for lunch this is a spot that he frequently comes to this eatery place. Nice friendly people food was good and plenty of it. I had these coconut shrimp and they Devine delicious. I will come back and have again

Being in the NY/NJ area I had to have pizza while I was here. I went with this place from the reviews and I have to say it was delicious. I give it five stars because the pizza was great.However, the rest of the experience reflected this visit to New Jersey. Understaffed, busy, a bit lax and chaotic. I walked in to order a carry out pizza. There is no host or sign. There is a bank of screens and menus past all of the tables by where they were making the pizza staffed by one overworked but friendly and talented woman.There was no waiting area that was not normal seating. There was a confusion as the young lady directed other staffers to make food, deliver food, answered the phone, took orders, and was superwoman. Somehow the place buzzed along, I got my pizza (a medium which was gigantic) and skedaddled.

The food is good, Today I came in and I had order a Spaghetti with meat sauce I got my order and it was a nice size but with no Garlic bread that messed up the whole meal for me. $19 with no Garlic bread. So I give this place 3 star just because it was good
Usually my favorite pizza but the last time I went the dough was off...very hard to chew and one of the pies was a little soggy. I spent over $130 on my order and was looking forward to it because I had not had it in a long time because I was away, just to be disappointed. We had to put the slices in the toaster oven. Salads and wings were good tho.
After a pleasant conversation I order a Caesar salad and a slice and was a happy camper. Biggest pro was the service. The server came around the very long counter to grab my drink. Such a small task that really made me happy. Will certainly come back if Im in the area to check out the rest of the menu.
Some days ago my husband and i went to this Restaurant for lunch....we orderd both diffrent Burgers, and the food was really really good... The fries was from fresh Potatos and the Taste from the Burger was really delicious...I dont remember the last time I ate such a delicious burger..The atmosphere in the Restaurant was Rustical... We like it... The Service was really friendly ...We will come back...Thank you so much for the really good Lunch...
It was alright for a spontaneous bite to eat. A bit disappointed in the selection on the menu. But the coal brick oven was delish!! And service was quiet and fast!!

This place is a hybrid w/ the Novelty Burger.It s my Cheers bar. Ive been going for like 4 years and EVERY THING is unmatched. Food, service and drinks are phenomenal. Especially the wings and pizza.
This is 100% the best pizza you will find here. If you are like me, its (almost) all in the sauce. This sauce is a savory cause with just a hint of sweet and spicy. Delivery was prompt and courteous, even during this crazy epidemic. Try them out!
Pizza was tasty, although the crust was a little hard and overdone. BUT THAT COCONUT SHRIMP THOUGH...??!! THEE MF BOMB, OKAY! So anyway, Ill be back for the coconut shrimp if anything. lol
It was alright. Had a cheese burger with fried egg. Buffalo wings taste old and not spicy..bit into mozzarella sticks had no cheese.
Really slow service. Had to wait 20 mins just to order a drink. And that I had to ask for. I ordered and the waitress forgot so that was another 15 or so mins. We finally ordered our pizza was aparently used for someone else. In the end we ended up waiting over 1.5 hours. It was really good but terrible service until the very end.

The pizza here was pretty good -- I ordered the small plain -- but could have used a bit more salt, something I have never said about a pizza anywhere. I ordered a Diet Coke and was served a Diet Pepsi (which is fine, I like Diet Pepsi) in a plastic bottle with no glass and then the waitress disappeared. Decor was nice and menu was extensive. I heard a table near me order the cheeseburger pizza and the waitress advised against it.
I had the best burger for lunch..also I have tried their pizza which is also delicious! I would recommend if you are getting take out order ahead of time! It is a little bit of a wait!
What a great place that was recommended by our hotel staff. We enjoyed a medium pizza and a couple beers. Pizza was so tasty and came out piping hot. waiting staff was super friendly and gave us some great recommendations of what to order. I loved tasting some local craft beer they had on tap. If you stay at the indigo or are heading to the prudential Center make this your dinner stop.

We enjoy to go out. Yesterday we went to this magnificent place which friends recommended to us. We had a beautiful experience there with great dishes and a well-trained stuff and a professional chief cook. We put this restaurant in our list and we will no doubt come back very soon. We deeply recommend.

We ordered a Margherita Pizza for delivery, and it was ok. Pizza dough/crust seemed stale and pizza arrived on the colder side. Sauce was good, but cheese was no longer melty, not enough basil on top of the pie. We had to re-heat it as soon as it arrived.
I personally liked the Pizza we ordered and the ambiance of the place. My wife did not like that the sauce for the pizza as it was more tart. Perhaps adding a sweeter sauce to the menu options and more options for vegetables on the pizza would go towards winning over people of varying tastes, especially vegetarians.
Excellent as usual. We order a pizza from Mercato whenever we are in the area for business. We got a large pizza with bacon, pepperoni, and Italian sausage. The toppings are an additional $6 each but they do give you large chunks of bacon strips and hunks of sausage and lots of these mini pepperoni. So all together its about $43 for the large with 3 toppings but the large is huge. Our 3 person family will get 2 meals out of it. The crust is great, it tastes authentic with the darker bits really letting you know that it was coal fired. Its not too soggy and not too stiff. The delivery is always early or on time and the delivery people are always friendly. Ive got nothing negative to say except I wish they had a location closer to where I live so we could order more often.
We got immediate service, fast (but not too fast) pizza, and a really fun server. She was excellent with suggestions and had a great demeanor. Even though she was above and beyond it seemed like everyone working there was really good, which hopefully means they enjoy their work and have a good work environment.

We really enjoyed the pizza here and arrived right before the lunch rush so our food came really quickly. A small pie and a large pie were able to feed our party of five people. I would highly recommend it

Not sure about you, but I feel weird eating when half the party doesnt have their food.Service was one of the worst Ive experienced, and unfortunately on parties over six, you have no choice on the 18% gratuity.Save yourselves the trouble, pass on this establishment. Definitely doesnt deserve the 4.6 star rating. Unless I have really high expectations of food being brought out around the same time so THE WHOLE TABLE can eat.Unbelievable! Warm, eclectic interior. The moment I saw the coal fired oven, I knew good food was in my future. The crust is absolutely perfect, thin, light, airy with a hint of coal flavor and the perfect doneness to add a little depth to the flavor which balances out the tomato sauce, mozzarella and pepperoni. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Portions are generous but don’t feel too heavy. Wonderful meal!
This place is really nice. Its a pizza spot but their menu is filled with many foodie favorites. We got a plain pie for a quick bite. It was delicious. Served hot and fresh, nice and crispy, sauce and cheese were on point. Definitely recommend Mercatos!

My husband is a New Yorker and he said that after Lombardis in Manhattan this is his next favorite pizza. Really really good!! The only thing is that it might take a little bit so if you are going during your 1 hour lunch, make sure you order beforehand.

We found ourselves with extra time before a Devils game and decided to try the pizza. I was fully expecting a crowd and it was quite busy! First, I was disappointed to find this pizza place doesn’t serve pizza by the slice so be ready to round up the amount you need to the nearest whole pie. Second, I was disappointed with the prices. Nearly $30 per pizza with toppings, $24 for plain. I’m not from this area, but pizza where I am from is about half that price. Third, When the pizza finally did arrive, the slices were small and irregular sizes. Trying to feed six hungry guys with pizza like this just doesn’t work. Last, the service was not good. Busy as they may have been, drinks were not refilled and the server came back only once in a visit that was over an hour long. If you are looking to save money compared to $6/slice in the prudential center, you’re really not saving all that much here considering the size of the slices. The only thing this place really has going for it is the pizza was not terrible although a little on the greasy side. Overall I would not recommend.
They offer other food besides pizza. Grilled chicken with spring mix, burgers, sandwiches. Their pizzas are delicious.

The place has very tasty pizza. Its not your average pizza prices though. So expect to pay a little more. Sometimes before a devils game at the Rock the place will be very busy and if you dont get the right waiter or waitress, will take you long time to get service or food. The owner is very nice though and will make it up to you anyway he can.

Variety of food selection because it shares its menu with Novelty Burger next door. Food has always been good. There portions are really big so come with a big appetite. Friendly staff. good price, not cheap but not expensive. If youre in the area and hunger its a good place to go

This place had great service and decent drinks. The salad was decent and a good size for 2 people. The calamari was really good but was made much better with the marinara sauce... Now, I ordered wings with buffalo sauce, but my sister got wings with no sauce at all. The buffalo wings are not very good. The plain sauce free wings are awesome. So good... I didnt rate too poorly bc this is a tomato pie/pizza place so we didnt eat what they are noted for. My sister has had their pizza and she thinks its good.
