Joe and the gang are great. pricing is reasonable. I came upon their shop three separate times for small issues that they just fixed (or recommended i bring it to last person who mucked it up to make it right) and sent me on my way. how many places would do that?

Cant say enough about how happy we were to have found this place! If youre local and need anything done that they offer, check these guys out!!Late summer, we were traveling to the area and had arrived late the night before to our friends house after driving in from Rochester, NY. The next morning, we were up early with plans to drop my husband off at the airport and I was supposed to then drive to Maine when we saw there was no air in the inside tire of our dually 😮We didnt have much time to deal with this... 😬My husband called a couple places and Midas was more than happy to have us come right over so they could help us.We arrived, were greeted with kindness and helped immediately. Im only sorry I forget the gentlemans name who took care of us.He actually came right outside the minute we parked - before we even had a chance to walk inside. He then pulled our truck out back, had both tires off before we knew it and found a HUGE bolt was imbedded in the flat tire. He had it out, tire repaired, both tires back on the truck and got us on our way in record time.It was the BEST $20 we ever spent. These guys care about their work and their customers!!

Best experience ever at an auto mechanic! Our car began to shake on the highway and pulled off in Newburyport unsure where to go. Midas was the first place we saw. Tim was getting ready to close the shop but took the time to come out, diagnose the problem and even told us where to go to get it taken care of immediately. He even told us what we should pay for the job and what not to pay. Although it was a brief interaction Tim was clearly, honest, passionate and knowledgeable. I wish we lived closer so he could be our mechanic every time!!

Joe and Tim are fantastic. Personable service, competitive prices and trustworthy mechanics. I went for for an oil change there a few years back on a new car. Right off the bat, Tim let me know that he would be happy to change the oil, but since this new car only took synthetic, I had about 2,500 more miles to go before I even needed it! That kind of service made a repeat customer.

My 2004 Subaru’s air conditioner stopped working and I feared a huge repair bill (or just forget it and get a new car). The excellent mechanic at Midas found a bad pulley and was able to replace it, so bill was not expensive and the car has AC again. Very happy with the honesty and competence at this shop.

After 2 different mechanics told me I needed a head gasket and new brakes/rotors, Tim at Midas looked at my car and said that wasnt the case. He was able to diagnose it in minutes and fix it for $300 instead of $2600. They know what they are doing and are honest, which is hard to come by. Highly recommend!

Joe and the mechanics in this shop are the best around! Fair prices, great service, no nonsense car repair. I never go anywhere else. They’ve done everything on my car from find a major issue (and send me to the dealership so it could be done under warranty, how great is that!?) to quickly fixing a rattling noise in 20 minutes for me. They are awesome!

They did great work on my car. The price was very competitive. I used a coupon and saved money.

Needed a quick fix as my son was leaving to head back to college in NY school but his car started shimmying at 50 MPH and above. It started after getting stuck in mud and needing to be towed out of it just the other night. I called on Saturday (not early) and Tim/Joe fit me in and had the issue resolved (cheaply I might add) in a few hours. Thanks guys!

Booked online, and someone got back to me quickly via email about my service. Quick oil change, and they offered to look over my car since I had mentioned I was going to go into the dealer for my 30,000 service. They checked everything on my car that would have been done at my dealer and only charged me for my oil change. These guys are honest and know what they are talking about. I will for sure come here again!

Wish I found this gem sooner! Excellent work, fair prices, and wont try to upsell you on additional services. Gave my car a wellness check before moving out of state, and gave a more reasonable and less extensive list of recommendations than my previous mechanic.

If I could give the folks who work at this Midas a ten star review I would! My husband and I were driving to NH for a weekend getaway when we ran into car trouble. We were able to emergently pull off the freeway and came to this Midas. Everyone one was EXCEPTIONALLY KIND and worked tirelessly to finally get our hood open (latch had malfunctioned) and get the issue fixed. They saved our vacation! This location is truly proof that good-hearted people exist in this world.

I just spoke with Tim over the phone about getting a replacement tire. He gave me advice about the best place to go, and it wasnt them. It really says a lot to have someone give you honest advice when it doesnt work in their favor. Although I havent had work done at this location I will be coming here first for any future car troubles.

Been going there for years because of their honesty and integrity. Ive had some gnarly cars over the years and theyve never tried to talk me into doing extra work. In other words- they have never tried to run the game on me. However, they dont hesitate to speak up if something is wearing down or dangerous. Even though they are busy, bcuz they are the best, they always manage to get me in, usually on the same day. Good people, great place.

Great Location, Easy Reservation, and Great Work Done I went in to have an oil change on my older model vehicle and to examine an issue with my door handle. They were able to quickly assess the issues with my car, quickly fixed the issues that they could, and gave me quality FREE advice on how to cheaply fix the issues that vexed my car. Im glad that I went here on my way to NH and will be using this Midas to service my vehicle from here on out. Its hard to find an inexpensive quality repair shop but I think i have found one.

Great place to take your car! I agree with the previous reviewers. I went to get an oil change and a light repaired and thats all they did and they charged a low and reasonable price, even gave me a small discount. They dont do the usual ripoff/unnecessary repair stuff that some other mechanics do. The guy that runs the place (Joe) is a good guy and honest. They do all kinds of repairs & maintenance on cars, they dont just do brakes and mufflers. I highly recommend them.

After being quoted $1100 at the Honda Dealership for repairs after being charged $250 for the diagnostic, I asked Joe at Midas for a quote for what was being suggested. He came in $400 less! But the real shocker is after his team ran the diagnostic they reported that none the of recommended part replacements were even necessary, walking me through and showing me first hand. The real replacement part cost about $15 and they charged me $0 for the time and effort to determine the real problem. Honesty and integrity still exist in the car repair business - you will find it at Midas, 72 Storey Ave. in Newburyport. They have my business from now on. Thanks Joe and Tim!

Traveling through MA to a family gathering in NH on a hot day. Experienced tire inflation problems, pulled off the highway and stopped at Midas in Newburyport for help. The entire team there could not have been more knowledgeable, comforting or professional. Fixed our problems immediately allowing us to continue on. This is hands down the place to bring your car if you value honesty, transparency, great pricing and very experienced knowledgeable mechanics. I’ve had a Volvo XC90, Honda Accord, VW Passat, and an old Mercedes 190e serviced here. Quality work every time. They don’t work on commissions either. Oh, and friendly good bunch of guys too. Highly recommended!

Two days now - 1st day - Cant do it today can you bring it in tomorrow and ill definitely get it done. - Joe wouldnt let me get to it, had to prioritize what makes him money I can do it Friday, guarantee ill get it done. 2nd day - No phone call, nothing. No work done - something that would have taken an hour. Car sitting out back unlocked with the door open. Now I cant get it done until next week when I needed it this weekend - hence why I even brought it there. Wont be going back there.. already spend $5000 this year here and this is the service Im getting now... what a joke.

I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Joe and Paul at the Newburyport Midas.Heading towards ME to help a friend clean three generations out of their family farm was a sad and daunting enough way to start a weekend. When my car started making an unnatural noise, I pulled off the highway after 3pm with storms rolling in and thinking I was going to be taking an Uber home and that my weekend was over.Within a few minutes of pulling in Paul assessed the situation and came up with a solution that could be made quickly and get me back on the road.Joe made it possible for the work to get done and was BEYOND reasonable in what he charged me. And he gave me a cucumber from his garden!I wouldnt typically drive to Newburyport to get my car serviced, but to have a company and employees, go so far above and beyond is unheard of in this day and age. All my future work will be done at the Midas in Newburyport because they went out of their way for me and could have charged me more for the work they did but they didnt.Good service and loyalty should be rewarded and its the least I can do to thank them by becoming a regular customer!Great team!! You wont be disappointed!!!
