We had an amazing experience with Emilia. She was super nice and made our dish of the evening, all vegetarian! She is super accommodating me and very informative. Well definitely come back for more cooking events

This review is about the cooking classes.The cooking classes are fantastic. The chefs are very knowledgeable and are highly skilled. The atmosphere is fun and enjoyable.Ive been to several cooking classes here and they have all been great. The food we made is delicious and had allowed me to understand and learn to make them on my own. The chef instructors provide little tips to make things easier and/or add more flavor to the dishes.My daughter has taken the 5-day teens baking classes and she absolutely loved the classes. So much so that she definitely wants to take more next summer. She had fun and learned some new techniques.

WASTES TRAGIC AMOUNTS OF FOOD EVERYDAY!I was very disappointed with my experience taking a cooking class here. Nowhere is it explained that you do not get to take the food you cook with you at the end of the class. As part of corporate policy, the staff HAS to throw away the food. Its not their fault, but with three classes a day on weekends alone, that is an OBSCENE waste.The company should have a waiver on hand that cooking class participants can sign, releasing Sur La Table of liability if they take their food with them.There is no excuse for throwing away that much food on a daily basis.Again, I know this is not the staffs fault, but store management should be bringing this level of waste to corporates attention. Store management and store employees have to take some responsibility because theyre the ones who are seeing the waste everyday! Shame on those who just keep their mouths shut because its not their problem and they didnt make the rules. CHANGE THE RULES!!!

Went here for Valentines day. The cooking classes are GREAT for date night. It was so peaceful and fun. My boyfriend LOVES cooking, and I... enjoy the eating part more, haha, but we both had an amazing time. The atmosphere is very beautiful as well.

Working chef here. Honestly, I dont shop here often because I can usually get something in bulk from a purveyor for cheaper, but sometimes I need an odd piece of something or a small quantity of a nice something or other, and this place has proven great for that. They really do have an excellent selection

They have gotten so commercial. They do not have the special kitchen items anymore. And the help was rude.

Sur La Table is a great shop! love browsing here. We also did a cooking class which was fun. All Ill say is we werent expecting to cook in groups of 4, worked out ok though.

I just tend to like Sur La Table. I think they have a better selection of gadgets, appliances, and utensils than other similar stores. However, this particular store is particularly nice in the area. They have a great selection, beautiful test kitchen, and is in a beautiful little shopping plaza just off PCH. However, Ive been a touch disappointed in the service, which goes from stressed high pressure to snotty and every level in between.

Ive run out of things to purchase here. 🙂

Pricey, but amazing customer service. Very knowledgeable staff, many of whom graduated from culinary school.
