This was my first time renting a bicycle to beach cruise. I am glad I found this business. Rented two bicycles for $20 each for use all the way up until midnight. He let us know it was cash only, but made an exception and let us venmo. Also, adjusted the seats so that we would be comfortable riding around, gave us advise how to get to the pier. Came with a bike lock in case you would like to tie to a bike rack. Overall, amazing experience ☺️

Karin really helped me out, saved my long training ride and even changed out the tube for me. I fully recommend this small local business and will use again. Please do the same.

Whats better than having a bicycle to ride in Newport? A friend in Newport with a bike! Jason hooked us up w a 3 day rental at a great price. This is not your traditonal bike shop, its better! No busy storefront, no contracts and no down to the minute return time pressure. These are old bikes that hes fixed up to run better than new. Give him a call. Thanks Jason!!

Not a bad deal to rent a bicycle for 24 hours. We could just leave them at the hotel for him to pick up. I believe he even delivers to u at the hotel( we walked to pick up cause it was so close). He was friendly and helpful. Will rent again.

We stayed at the inn next door and rented 6 bikes for the week. The owner, Jason, gave us a great deal and was super nice. He was always willing to adjust the bikes to make sure we had a comfortable ride. I will never rent from anyone else. If hes not there when you stop by..no biggie come back in an hour and hes happy to help. Hes got mens, womens, and childrens bikes.

Best bike shop I have found in Newport! My friend had numerous flat tires on the same wheel today. We visited 4 shops the Balboa and Newport ares seeking help for before we were referred to West Newport Velo. Jason was incredible! He was able to quickly diagnose the problem.He had the proper size tire and inner tube in stock. While working on the bike he noticed other problem areas. He proceeded to do maintenance those issues and give us basic lesson on how take care of bicycles.Jason is the Bicycle Whisperer! =)

I liked West Newport Velo so much the first time I rented again this trip, heres my first review.They rent out cleaned up older bikes. My girlfriend got a awesome pink Hello Kitty bike with matching Hello Kitty treaded tires and a beach cruiser for me. Great price $20 each for 24 hrs and the owner told us not to worry about getting them back before closing, just chain them up to the rest when you are done. We broke our phone charger and asked the owner were they sold them nearby. He told us where but we could get one but he loaned us his spare and said just drop it off with the bikes. 2 great experiences so far. Before we left he gave us a friendly reminder to lather up with sunscreen because it was overcast and youll still burn even though the suns not out.

I had to leave a review after reading Zen Browns one star review. A totally unfair rating.Jason is the nicest guy. Took time to make sure our bikes fit and our kids were comfortable in the rear child seats. We talked about bike styles and customizations. He gave us helpful directions to get to the boardwalk.Yes, he surfs during his business hours. So what? We thought that was cool. He rigged some bars to his bike to hold his board while he rides. We saw him riding along PCH with his board attached to his bike.He gave us his phone number and told us to just lock the bikes up if he wasnt there when we got back. No big deal at all.The guy loves building and customizing bikes. And he loves surfing. If you are in the area, stop by his shop.

First time to go there with 3 bikes that needed very miner adjustments. I was very happy with the way he explained everything to me. However, our day was ruined because he filled our tires and we had not 1,but, 2, tires blow during our ride. I had to spend 40 dollars more for one bike and have not fixed the other yet . Not to mention I gave him 35 bucks, for what? So I would have to come back and get my tires fixed. >>??. So, I will talk to him today, hopefully he will take care of my tire. without any more problems. Unbelievable!! My friend is visiting from florida and it was so embarrassing to have both bikes break down and spend all day at the bike shop

This place and its owner (Jason) make me want to move to Southern California. ☺️ If you want a $10K carbon fiber special, check out Mikes Bikes, but if you want a unique cruiser for a beachside path, Newport Velo might have just the right ride for you.

This guy made our day. Jason not only set us up. He went out of his way after hours. Due to sickness of my wife we couldnt return in time. He came to us picked up bikes and gave me a ride back to my car . Without any extra charge, tried even slipping him few bucks. He just said happy everything worked out well considering illness. With smile just tell friends family that you have friend and great rental in Newport Beach . Amazing cant find these places any more Thanks Dude !!! Newport Beach should be proud and take note of people like Jason conducting business in their city. 👍

We stayed at the Inn next door and saw the selection of vintage bikes for rent!! Jason fit the entire family (6) with an awesome classic cycle at an extremely reasonable price. I would totally recommend renting bikes while on this Vaca to snyone!
