I cant believe that we have a large store in Newport News that has a friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! Other stores could learn from them when it comes to customer service. Almost as good as the chicken staff.

My favorite place to buy spirits at reasonable prices and find great ideas for gifts. Love this place. You must try Red Dream. the best wine ever!

Love this Total Wine! There was a good variety of alcohol that weve been looking for for a while. What I am really looking to find at a liquor store here is Amstel, but all they carry is Amstel Light!!!

I couldnt have been happier with my experience here. When I walked in the door there was a person working who immediately greeted me and asked me if I needed any help. I asked for allagash White beer. She said that was her favorite and immediately walk me over to the product. I was in and out in 2 minutes and treated like royalty. Very friendly service and would highly recommend coming here.

Totally friendly people work there. always willing to help, very knowledgeable about their stock and its location. the variety of selections of beer and wine are mind-boggling. very impressed with all aspects of this location (newport news)

The only reason I cant give 5 stars is they dont sell liquor. Staff was great. Wine and beer section are amazing.

The Newport News store is one of my favorite Total Wine(s). I mostly go for Imported German beers, but we also buy reds in the modest price range. (We passed on the $3 bottles) The Peninsula stores have different distributors than the Southside, but it mostly the same stuff with slight variations. Ill probably end up regretting mentioning this, but Oktoberfest beers start coming out in mid to late August and its usually mostly gone by October. This would include Paulaner marzen(best beer ever) and their Festbier(also really good), Hacker Pscorr marzen, Wehenstephaner Festbier and lots of others. Enjoying them now, as a matter of fact. Hahaha

Great experience at Total Wine. I picked up my usual but I wanted to try something new like a Rose and a Blend. The manager Greg helped me pick out some great selections that were priced right. Greg met me where I was in terms of my wine knowledge and made me feel so comfortable. He recommended a Riesling to try when I come back. I left the store with 4 bottles of great wine and I will be back. Greg thanks so much for your hospitality:)

Store was clean and beautiful..Wine tasting was blah... boring..older male employee did NOT engage with me like he did the man in front of me and only told me about 1 wine and didnt seem happy about it...this is a red wine from Sonoma California...all dry.. I tasted all 4 that were available... Great selection though

I went in love looking for sherry. The clerk at the register said it was in the back of the store, it wasnt. No help to be found. I walked out empty handed. I wont go back again.

I was working 2 instacart orders. I dont drink so the store is foreign to me and everyone was very helpful that I asked for assistance from. One employee actually looked up an item for me because I couldnt find it and then proceeded to walk me down the isle to help me locate it which we did! The employees and their customer service at Total Wine mirrors the service we all love from Chick-fil-A! Everytime I have an order at Total Wine Im greeted the same way with a smile & they kindly assist you with what whatever your questions are & the cashiers are just as friendly and helpful! Keep up the great work.

We totally love total wines. The variety of wines we can choose from is outrageous. We love the Stella Rosa collection, found the Mango at another store not sure of TWM carries it, or they dont, they should! We do not drink alcohol, so very cool they sell Fre!!! It is very hard to find alcohol removed from wine. Harris Teeter sells this but not many selections like TW does. The store is in a great location, and always clean. The shelves are neat and we can find what we need. The prices are very nice, and they always have plenty in stock!

The store in Newport News impressive but the one in Westbury Long Island, NY, is by far larger than this one. Yet, the staff in both places are the best professionals.

Awesome selection of wines and craft beers! Almost unbelievable how many local options there are. Each drink also has a placard that displays the place of origin, the palatte, and the alcohol percentage. There is also a mix and match option for 6 packs of craft beers so you can try a little bit of everything. There is also a section devoted to imported favorites. The staff have always been kind and are eager to help if you dont know where to start.

Disappointed in how management made zero effort to help me find what I was looking for. I went here yesterday around 7p.m. in Newport News to look for some Ginger Beer (not the Ginger Beer/Soda but actual ginger flavored beer or cider). After looking through the isles for several minutes I found the manager on duty on the floor stocking the shelves and I asked her if they had what I was looking for and after reconnecting the ginger soda I communicated the actual beer and not the soda and she simply said no without offering to look it up or anything. After about 15 more minutes of searching on my part I found what I was searching for. As a MOD I expect a little better customer service instead of just saying no. Please retain your management to better serve your customers.

Went in 11/14/20 we wanted to exchange wine so I picked out the wines I wanted. Went to the register to complete transaction cashier informed me he would need help as he wasnt sure what to do for return, which was fine we have shopped here many times you give your telephone number and they can locate all your previous purchases. Roland who said he was a manager said he didnt know if I had stolen the wines I came in with to exchange. He proceeded to pull up security footage and had 3 other staff members view store footage. I know Rolands reaction was based off racial profiling. I was so embarrassed and angry I will never shop this location again. With a manager like Roland Im sure others will experience the same customer service.

Huge selection of beer and wine. The man that helped us was very knowledgeable and found exactly what my friend was looking for. They were currently out, but offered alternate selections and i believe offered to put in an order ( not 100% on that)He also overheard me say that I was not drinking anymore, and mentioned they did have a section for non-alcoholic beer if I was so inclined. There was a surprising variety for a non alcoholic section that I had no idea existed.Very cool store, even for people who do not drink alcohol, they have the NA beer, and a variety of sparkling drinks as well.

Mostly everybody here is always super helpful and I never have a problem finding anything... unless of course its out of stock but that can be typical as things may not be in season.

The best Total Wine in the area. Take advantage of the classes they have in the evenings on the weekends you can sign up for at a small fee....they are in the back. They always seem to fill up. If you are looking to try some craft beers, make your own six pack is the way to go, now it can get pricey but is a great experience. This place has it all and is GORGEOUS on the inside.

Went in today to buy a few wines with my fiance and I felt very racially profiled. First no one asked us if we needed help nor say hello so wasnt a very warm welcome, second I understand a policy about someone ID being damage but you do not have the right to ask me what my relation is with the person Im with you definitely cross the line I didnt catch the staff members name but will never return to total wine luckily I was able to purchase my items elsewhere with no issues. A simple Im sorry we cant take your ID would have been more then enough. I used to love going there but I will not go back ever due to this experience.
