Very nice. The salesman Jay was very pleasant and polite. Knowledgeable wouldnt begin to describe the treatment we received. We are looking for a nice lot to put our new home on.

I am in the market to purchase land and a modular home to put on it in the country. Clayton really was thorough,kind and informative. I was given the keys and allowed to examine all the details and designs of all the different styles available without a salesperson tagging along, which made the experience even better. Afterwards I was able to return to the office with any questions I had and was well satisfied with the experience. I learned that they could even assist with land and home package deals. I shall return.

Bought this place 5 months ago Im still not in I have still not gotten any response from corporate nor from the home office on when I will be in. Oh the contract says 6 months, the mortgage is looking to want some money, what a Christmas present I have. Yay Clayton homes thank you for my Christmas present.

I definitely should have taken heed to the reviews here. This encounter did not give me that “warm and fuzzy” feeling. I waited over 8 minutes for someone to acknowledge me. When I walked in I could hear someone talking in another room, they were with customers but I felt they could have at least said “they are out on the grounds and someone will be right with you”. The two women came in, didn’t say hello, and said we’ll be with you in a minute. Valarie said how I can help you and then pretty much told me to go take a look but be back before 6 because they were closing soon. I was instructed to look at two models that might interest me but gave no indication to where they were located on the lot so I only looked at one, I couldn’t find the other. It was extremely warm outside and inside the homes with no AC it was even warmer. I came back within 15 minutes and communicated to her that I didn’t find the other model, (I eventually realized the numbers were in the window, she didn’t tell me that nor accompany me) and it was too hot to be roaming around all those hot homes. There was a fridge with bottled water there after I mentioned how warm it was, do you think she offered me one? NO. I got the impression she thought I was wasting her time and kept quoting prices to discourage me in an assumption that they were out of my price range even though I have been prequalified for twice the amount of the home. I liked the Terminator model; however, I disliked my experience and treatment more. I’m so sorry this is the only dealership in this area.

We had such an awesome experience buying our first home from Clayton homes in Newport News. Valerie was very professional kept us informed through out the entire process and there was no secrets. Her and the entire team at Clayton homes was very friendly and patient with me and my family. They wasn’t trying to push us into buying anything just there to answer any questions and guide us in the right direction. I would highly recommend anyone going through Clayton homes in Newport News. The finance company Vanderbilt made it easy and helpful to get to closing. We honestly bought a home with no stress all thanks to Valerie and her team and the awesome team at Vanderbilt!!!!

Sandy is the very best in helping new home owners find the home of their dreams and making it happen. She worked with us for 2 years to find the right home, at the right price and made sure it was done right the first time. I definitely recommend Sandy at Clayton Homes Newport News as she is the very best.

Well at least you werent able to get my earnest money.Ive gotten 2123 views and 6 likes, hopefully thats 2123 victims that wont get scammed by this particular clayton homes.Awesome, Audrey Briggs is not GM anymore. That is the best move Clayton Homes could have ever made. I just hope Sandy is still there. Maybe this Clayton Homes are in for much needed improvements.This will be my last post. Good luck.

I am in the market for a pre fab home. I have cash to purchase. I own the land outright already. I have all site work complete. Septic, water and power. All I need to do is pick a structure and have it delivered. I have called and explained this 8 times to the sales people at Clayton homes of Newport (I have the phone records since August.) I have no idea what these people do all day but they sure do not sell homes and they definitely DO NOT return phone calls. Avoid this place at all costs.

5 stars specifically for Valerie, she was so awesome, knowledgeable, and knew how to break things down explaining everything clearly. If you’re coming here you’re not going wrong with her!!

My husband and I came into this Clayton last year and they were Rude Audrey and Sandy both. When we told them our possible price range they said there was nothing they would be able to set us up in that would fit our needs. They said there especially would be no land home packages they would be able to do and that the best they could hope for us was to set us up in a nice trailer park. Also, they showed us a dumpy trailer that was 20 years old and in bad shape that they were trying to sale used for 90k said that was what they could offer us. We went to another location that had some of the same models set up that they had and the other Claytons models were cheaper. They said that some places mark the prices up more. So Stay away from this location.

Very beautiful homes. Not what I expected.

Over 3 months of being Run around (7 visits). requested refund 3 weeks ago. Still have not received it. Loan approved, ready to build. (perks, Surveys) Price of home kept changing, hidden costs, a lot of unanswered questions. only 2 available floor plans? There are better deals with honest buisinesses in this area. If a deal seems to good, do some reasearch and get it written down. Advertisement targets Veterans and Military. Lock in your deal..... Otherwise prices will go up with no explanation. I just want my refund so I can take my buisiness else ware.

If you want to flush your hard earned money down the drain, this is a great place to do it. They ask you for down payments for land/home then when your deal is about to close they will cancel it and refuse to give you a refund. I should have done a lot more research before coming to them. Now seeing the massive amounts of negative reviews they have nation wide makes me upset. Im only 25 years old and this would have been my first time purchasing a home, and they took advantage of that, please dont allow this to happen to you,stay away from these guys.

We went here being told by the sales agent that the floor plans were able to be modified. The deposit was made, almost two weeks later we were told that the floor plans were fixed. I stressed more than once our intentions on our first visit. If the communication is lacking at the beginning of the process I could only imagine what it would have been like during the home building.

I wont go public with the worst visit ive ever had from a sales/customer service person. You should fire her immediately.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM THIS COMPANY! We had a very disappointing experience. From the time we walked until the door until we left ! Customer service is trash and unbelievable! As soon as we walked in we were looked up and down, no greeting what so ever, Just we close in about 15 minutes. Regardless of what time it is you’re supposed to provide good customer service support. As first time homebuyers this has completely ruined our experience. Our sit down was rushed, never got to know us, and all she talked about was you’ll need more money . When asking for paper work to show us the steps she said they don’t have any documentation until I brought it to her attention I had been there before and described the worksheet. Over all please pay attention to these reviews! This place needs to be shut down ASAP !

Do not buy from these people. I did and I regret every moment of it. It has put nothing but stress,anger and difficulty in me and my wifes lifes. I would not recommend this establishment to my worst enemy.

The homes were staged beautifully and the grounds area was very nice. I was distressed because the sales staff did not even want to discuss helping anyone purchasing from them and placing the home in an area that was outside their territory.

Working with Sandy has been a blessing. She is a caring and patient person. She gets the job done.

We bought our first trailer from Oakwood homes it was amazing not one issue, so when it came time to put a house on land we went back to Oakwood. Unfortunately Oakwood sold out to Clayton loyal to our sales lady we followed her to Clayton. We should have trusted our guts and walked away what a nightmare house sat for six. Months before any work was even done. Then they unwrapped it and it sat for a two days with no cover exposed to the elements. Thats just the start we have tile and grout issues, mold smell in master bath from no gtout in shower, tile craking and missing in kitchen, empty fire bottel, electric not grounded, cut wiring to septic, cracking in dry wall, mail pops, 14 holes left in roof i guess they thought we would not notice. Holes left in floors under appliances. I pulled hundreds of nails out of ceiling. This is not even half and Clayton does not care the new manager at Clayton in Newport news said he would help us make this right only thing he did was pay for a new oven knob thanks. We have been through hell and are going through hell the extended warranty company will not help with any of the issue like mole from a shower that was installed wrong by Clayton saying that it is normal wear and tare in a house that we have been in less than two years. I was not raised to believe that anyone owes you anything but we work hard and noone should go through this. I dont wish any bad on all involved but i hope you sleep at night knowing that you all have screwed so many over, i dont wish anyone will treat you or someone you love they way you have treated us.i do believe that what gos around comes around and while we will have to refinance on a house we already cant afford for mistaked Clayton made i still dont wish this hell on you. Dont go through what we are going through if you can get out get away. Do your research please dont make this mistake PLEASE i have so many other major issues that i could go on and on about but will leave this right here.

Extremely high prices on the set-up and moving fees. Double or more of what they should be.

If you are thinking about investing serious money and time into a home project then you might want to do some homework on how to actually go about this process, because Clayton Homes does not have a clue. Take any money that you would want to invest in earnest money and burn it...youll get the same return on your investment. Probably the best thing you can do is never believe ANYTHING they say. If they say they have done a survey, get the survey. If they say they have done a perk test, get the perk test. Basically the best advice I can actually give you is to run away. I lost months planning our house and thousands of dollars on nothing. Dont do business with these people.

Drove all the way from Gloucester and all though they are open the woman says shes not showing any homes today. Waste of time. Oakwood Homes was very accomodating.
