Hidden gem in Niagara. Stumbled upon it on the walk into Niagara Falls from the GO bus terminal. Fresh donuts, amazing wonton soup and is authentic. This is a bustling spot and a favourite among locals by the foot traffic. Lovely and sweet workers. Would definitely be coming back!FYI - the chocolate cruller has nuts & is cash / debit only.
Although we heard so many reviews about this place, we didnt find it quite as good as expected. We have found many donuts in various areas that were as good or better than this and served with a more pleasant attitude. The person theyre charged the same amount in American dollars as they will in Canadian so make sure to get Canadian dollars before you buy. But otherwise just decent donuts
I have loved this little shop for many years! The staff are nothing but delightful. It is such a great stop for a bowl of wonton soup at lunch or late night cravings for donuts. Only do be mindful that they are cash only(theres an ATM across the street).
This place is a gem. I never had fresh donuts before and what a difference.. Country Fresh Donuts is a unique place where they offer fresh daily made donuts. Yes! Made not baked! Not fried, frozen then baked...Country Fresh Donut makes their Donuts and sells it till its gone. I come from Mississauga and sometimes I got there at 11am and most are gone already. The donuts are so soft and not to sweet. Because of this combination it makes you eat more. I would leave the donut in the open for hours and comeback to a very soft donut waiting for a coffee.Dont get me wrong not all favors you will like but for the one the you would it will be heaven. Another wanring. Coffee not the best nor good, you can try it but im picky with my coffee. Now for what makes this place unique? They also sell hot n sour soup, wanton soup and wanton noodle soup. Wierd? Yes! Soup and fresh donut? Youll be surprised... The soup are not the best but not the worth too. Its good, tasty and hot.. But hey I will let you try it and let me know what you think...Hope you enjoy it like I do...Im a fan of Lemon filled and sugar twist.. honey glaced too... coconut... you k ow what try it when you are in Niagara and let me know...
This is a quintessentially Canadian donut shop. Eddie has been running this place for 30 years, serving good coffee, delicious wontons and great donuts. It’s clear the locals love this place. An unconventional combination of Chinese soup and donuts should beckon you to Country Fresh. Their cake batter donuts are airy and luxurious. I would suggest the walnut crueller and the toasted coconut. The bread batter donuts are even better. If a twist is available, get the cinnamon or sugar. Hidden gem: the grilled cheese sandwich!
I have been going here for years for wonton soup. It is the best wonton soup Ive ever had, still to this day. Lots of meat and flavor.I also always order some donuts to share with my family and they never disappoint either! Lots of donut options and the cruellers are really good as well. The owners are very kind and there is a parking lot right beside the place.Highly recommend trying their wonton soup!!
Had a chance to visit this place for the first time. The donuts here are amazing, its so fresh and each donut has a different texture from the next. It is 10x better than ones from Tim Hortons or grocery stores. Got 4 donuts for around $5. Wish we got more!
Recently moves to Niagara Falls and searching for some good donuts nearby. It popped up on the map so I gave it a try. The donuts were fresh and fluffy and great. Recommend this place.
Fantastic wonton soup, best I ever had. Old fashioned donuts made several times a day. They melt in your mouth. Friendly service to boot. I really enjoyed it
Best wonton soup like everyone says, but my girlfriend got me to try the hot and sour soup and honestly I get it every time we go now, it’s so good! Their donuts are always super fresh and not too sweet. Amazing place, I hope they have plans to keep the restaurant around forever!
I am perplexed how a donut shop can also be known as a Wonton Soup specialty restaurant, but literally 80% of the people coming in all ordered this soup, so we figured we needed to try it too. The soup was decent, but nothing over the top different than we get in Toronto. The donuts on the other hand, OMG, they are fantastic. So light, fluffy and flavorful! We will definitely be coming back here.
Wonton soup, donuts, cookies, pastries, sandwiches. Never had a single bad item of food from this place. Prices are still reasonable. Highly recommend.
Best experience ever ..This is my Happy Place 😊
Awesome donuts.Freshly made old style.
I love their soup, their donuts are great. The reason I have them a low score, 3 of my Boston creams had no filling. I only bought 3! I am going to let them know only next visit. I recently returned to Country Fresh. I told them about the empty Boston creams, they apologized and gave me 3 fresh ones. I now feel an extra star is warranted.
This place is a local gem. Its like Tim Hortons prices but way better quality. Coffee is fantastic and donuts are even better. Ill definitely come back again.
Awesome Doughnuts and good wonton soup
I cant believe I never reviewed this Place before. Go get a Coffee and some amazing Donuts. And if youre Hungry, grab one of the best Wonton Soups I have tried
This place is amazing. We stumbled upon it. Amazing fresh donuts. Wonderful coffee and we didnt get soup but it smelled awesome as well.
Please do not come here. The soup is too good and I dont want it to run out before I get here.... no seriously unbelievable. Donuts are amazing too but my god the soup!
The donuts are fine but the soup is the real treasure
Always order Wonton soup here. Donuts here are great too. The people that service you are very nice here. Will be back again.
I didnt know what to expect from a place that sells donuts and wonton soup, but boy was I happy that we tried this place! The glazed cake donut was really fresh and airy, while the wonton soup was excellent. Id highly recommend this hidden gem!
Like the doughnuts of my childhood - not just the fancy pants mini cakes that trendy shops make. And their won ton soup - you won’t believe the won ton soup.
Love the wonton soup and the donuts are great. Fast service always. Great place
Authenticity reigns at this quaint diner-esque restaurant featuring homemade wonton soup and sandwiches. Just minutes from Clifton Hill and you can walk inside, greeted by a sweet lady whom I presume is the owner. The wonton soup is wholesome and filling, and the donuts as good as ever. And it’s incredibly priced.Just go here.
The wonton soup is all the rage at this place, if it was a nightclub people would have beer Steins of this place full of this delicious soup.Their bakery is quite good, its all very Tim Hortons feeling. So its very familiar to us Canadians.Big bowl of wonton soup will fill you, and its CHEAP. Amazingly good value, and when you sit down you get some extras to enhance you meal. Hot sauce and those little crunchy corn things.Theyve really nice rum balls, theyre soft not too hard. Their doughnuts are made in a very millitary fashion, very well put together and always pretty to look at.Biggest problem with this place, its a cash only business. They dont take debit or credit, so bring your cash money and you wont be disappointed.
Best Wonton Soup and Donuts in the region. I would even go as far as ever. The wonton soup is homemade and worth the wait. There is generally a line up even in the wee hours of the morning. The donuts are so fresh and yummy. I have never been disappointed with this mom and pop shop. Absolutely worth the wait and drive. PRICES are incredibly reasonable too. The shop is nothing fancy and neither is the food. But out of this world delicious. The owners/staff are great too.
Super fresh donuts. Make sure you have cash as there isnt Interac.
When i was told about this restaurant i was a little hesitant, but upon entry the waft of deliciousness hit me hard. Bought 2 dozen donuts (every one was amazing) and then a large Wonton soup which ended up feeding three, yes 3 fat guys and one of us had never had wonton soup before and is a very picky eater and he loved it and is now obsessed with wonton soup
Delicious homemade treats, cozy vibes, and great prices. Definitely worth a stop.
Home made pastrys. Home made wong tong as well. Little local place u have 2 try 🤤🤤🤤.the prices are very reasonable .
Fantastic! Best wonton soup. Delicious donuts.
Amazing doughnuts and their soups are great! Somewhere I always look forward to go to whenever Im in the Niagara region
It was my first time there and the other patrons were so helpful in helping me pick what to get. They were all regulars- which means it must be a good place to get so many repeat customers. When i ordered, the service was friendly and informative. The lemon slice, eclair, and chocolate sprinkle donuts were all TO DIE FOR. Would recommend 100%!
Best soup in the region! Excellent service and such nice owners. Cash only!
Fresh made food and donuts! Make sure you get the famous WonTon Soup! A family owned business that has been part of the community for decades you can always count on the freshness and quality of their products. Always so pleasant and happy to serve you! A must visit in Niagara Falls.
Me and my family, wich now includes the grandkids have been going here almost 30 years. Same owners same awesome soup. Wonton and bukchoy. 😋
One of the strangest but most amazing food experiences Ive ever had. Heard about this famous/infamous Won-Ton soup being served at a donut shop in Niagara and I had to see it for myself. Drove an hour from Toronto, got to see this clash of cultures, and I just couldnt stop smiling at the idea. Where else will you ever see siracha bottles stationed by the hot chocolate dispenser!?!The soup was good; the donuts were great; and the experience was one Ill probably never forget.
Best soup and doughnuts. Have been going here for 20+ years. Used to live close by for 14 years and in all that time we never owned a coffee maker, because their coffee is also really good 👍
4 star for Yeast donuts. They were good value and popular. Lots of variety. $1 for 1, $6 for 6, $10 for 12.0 star for Wonton soup ~$7.50 everyone is raving about. It is NOT traditional Chinese wonton soup. Noodles are short rice noodle not egg noodle, wonton was pasty, broth taste like Campbells beef stock not pork. This is nowhere near real wonton soup, so dont go in expecting real wonton soup. I wouldnt recommend getting the soup if you had actual wonton soup before. If your disparate for Asian food and never had it before... Sure?? Soup was disappointing so be warned.Look at the names of those giving 5 star reviews. Likely all inexperienced on Asian food.Come for donuts though
The donuts and cookies are fresh daily they sell out quickly I drive from Welland to Niagara Falls for the wonton soup its amazing
Real good place to be wonton soup and freshly made donuts everyday !! Very friendly family that owns this spot.
We were in the area last night and decided to stop in for a donut. We were greeted by 2 very happy ladies who asked if we wanted soup (maybe next time). There was a large selection of different types of donuts to choose from, so since it was hard to choose just 1, we ended up getting a dozen. OMG the donuts were SOOOO fresh and delicious. Only complaint is that it was hard to see what types of donuts they had as their front counter partially blocks the view of the donut shelves. We will definitely be back for more donuts & to try their other menu items.
Make the best wonton soup. As well they have amazing donuts.
This small coffee shop that serves small breakfast and best wonton soup in the Niagara region has been here since I was a kid growing up. Not too mention the soup is delicious one of a kind, but the coffee and donuts are very good too. Very good establishment.
Saw great reviews and had to check the place out. They were out of donuts (great sign) but they were still able to wrestle up a few from the back. Very nice staff. Want to come and check this place out again.
I’ve been coming here for years, even when moving to Toronto I still come back for the wonton soup in Niagara. This is a gem for locals and a hidden gem for tourists. I also bring my friends from out of town here. I don’t know why they would have any reviews even slightly below 5 stars. The owners are extremely nice and hardworking. The soup is hot and fresh always. The donuts are amazing and it feels like a home to come here.Absolutely no complaints here. My favourite spot for soup and donuts. Also to note: this is CASH ONLY. So make sure to stop by an ATM before coming by.
Come here for the donuts and not really wonton soup...if you had legit wonton soup before then this is nowhere near as the broth, noodles, and wontons were all way off.
Great place for donuts. The eclaires and lemon squares were freshly made when we got there. There were people waiting for the freshly baked stuff with us too. Worth the wait. Friendly staff and lots of regulars came through while we waited. although Im not a regular (this is my second time visiting country fresh), they were super friendly and patient while I was deciding on my dozen. I had the wonton last time and it was very good. This time, Im having a dozen treats after dinner in the falls. 10/10 would recommend
Fresh donuts. I like the soup and sandwiches. Staff is extra nice
Clean Place, Quality is Top Notch, Everything is great at this place, Regular customer since 2017 !!
BEST WONTON SOUP EVER, local hot spot, must have, seriously mind blowing, and the owners are SO KIND
Niagaras best kept secret. Home style donuts and the best wonton soup you ever had. Old fashioned diner food and half decent coffee. I wish this were a franchise so I didnt have to come all the way to Niagara for it!
Weekly regular customer, the wonton soup and donuts are the best around.
This place has really rescued the hunger issues. It’s open during off hours have earned regular diners. The wonton soup is just lovely. Doughnuts are so fresh, it’s melts in the mouth. There are couple of drawbacks:Firstly: they don’t accept cards or interac, only cash which is pretty unusual in today’s world.Secondly, they keep the store closed all of a sudden without any intimation. You’ll have to end up reaching and realising it’s shut.Nevertheless, that doesn’t stop me from loving this place
Great Donuts! Fluffy and delicious.
The BEST wonton soup in the region, hands down!!
Great donuts and Wonton soup is out of this world!
Great, homey comfort food at great prices (CASH ONLY) and with great service. I tried the wonton soup and a couple of doughnuts and not only was the food delicious and perfect for a cold, rainy day, the owners were so sweet and had that place running like a well-oiled machine. There were about 4 or 5 people ahead of me in line when I arrived (currently take-out only) but I was in and out with my order in about 10 minutes.
I have to say sorry to the owner, this wonton soup disappointed me so bad. I had a craving for my hometown food as an asian, since I know there are a store scoring high locally and I right away decided to give a try.I am happy to see others like this soup but I know what wonton soup taste like, this is definitely a MSG bomb, that instant fried noodles come from a packet made me constipated for a couple days. No asian would eat that with a soup this way in legit asian world. At the end, the store is not accepting credit card like all the other asian restaurants. I would have had no problem with this if the soup wasn’t so bad.I gave it 2 stars since the store seems to be historic and the lady seems to be nice.
I dont usually care for donuts, but wow, Im a huge fan of these ones! Being from the city, I have so many donut options around me but none of them compare to this classic charmer. Be sure to also get the wonton soup. Ill be visiting every time Im in the area. I wish I had the room to try them all!
Dont see what all the hype is about. Nothing special
Just awesome . Doughnuts are so fresh and the Wonton soup is one of the best we have ever tasted . Highly recommend the cream puffs
Food is always excellent, a true local establishment and cornerstone of Niagara Falls.
We love this place for their donuts and wonton soup! The hot chocolate is delicious as well
Their soup is amazing, got to try the donuts, puts all others to shame
The cherry filled donut tasted so delicious, light and fluffy with slightly crispy outside and the wonton soup broth was rich with flavor, wonton also tasted amazing!! Highly recommend, this is my go to place at niagara :)
A local institution. The wonton soup is to die for.
Its a good feeling to just sit down and grab a donut or two, or three or a dozen, maybe two dozen, and knock em down while reading the morning paper!
Donuts are just ok/good. They are always fresh and lots of variety, all I’m saying is don’t go hear expecting the best donuts around like some people say in their reviews.Soup on the other hand, legit 10/10. I’ve been 5 times, got donuts twice but done with them. Soup everytime though
Good donuts, very fresh and homemade.
My fiancé and I were on a hike when a local said that we had to try this place out. Its a hidden gem. We ordered the wonton soup, cinnamon twist and a curler. Everything was amazing. It’s a must try if your in the area. They take only cash. The customer service was excellent. Define going back again.
Great value for donuts! Delicious!
Great wonton soup. Love the selection of donuts that you dont get elsewhere.
Best won ton soup around
Great service and good prices. And very tasty.
BEST Wonton soup of all time!! Additionally their donuts are incredible.
A must try. I come from Mississauga to get their wonton soup. Amazing donuts. Owners are very kind people.
Only spot open with fresh donuts and coffee that is local at 5.30am 😍Been there at other times too and the service was great and so was the food 👍
This place has the BEST won ton soup I have ever tried in my entire life!! 100% recommend grabbing a bowl of wonton soup if you are in the area. Staff is friendly. A large bowl is $6. They serve donuts and cookies as well which are very tasty. Everything is fresh and delicious. However, I dont recommend visiting late at night because you will run into some characters, thats for sure!
The people who serve customers are TOTAL sweethearts!!donuts are DELICIOUS!absolutely LOVE this place!
Donuts are oily and a little heavy. Wonton soup is great!
Ordered breakfast via Uber eats, waitedHour and a half and order was cancelled!!!!No reason was given.
I go there for the best Won Ton soup around. The donuts are also very good, always fresh.
