Terrible customer service. About six months ago a salesman came by offering to switch to protection1 because theyre a local company which would mean a faster response and I can keep the same payments. So I opted for a doorbell camera for an additional $5.00 and they said that they would contact my current service provider to make the switch. Everything went well until this month when I was trying to budget my bills for the new year and saw that I was paying for security from both companies. I called my last company and they said that since I was in a contract, I would still have to make the remaining payments. I immediately called protection1 and told them the situation and the operator said that they couldnt fix it at that moment, but someone who can, will call within 4 hours. Three days later, I still didnt receive a phone call. So I called them back and they had no history of the phone call and said that someone will call again within 48 hours. Two days later and no call. They suck. Im still trying to figure out what is going on.

I do not recommend this company. I didnt have the same cost issues as other reviewers; my pricing was reasonable. But they have terrible customer service and are unwilling to fix anything without charging you extra, even if their fix doesnt actually solve the problem.

Do not use this company. Hidden charges!! It costs $750 to remove the system. We were told it costs $25 to have a technician come to our house and another $45 to replace the batteries in the system. Beware. Long contracts also.
