The service here is excellent as always. Jenny is a pleasure to talk with. Their love and passion for coffee is unmistakable. My wife and I dont like the overly sweet drinks you get at other shops. Coalescence leads with a great espresso that you can drink straight or poured into your favorite milk based drink. My favorite is there Macchiato as I like the espresso to shine through, however I still get a bit of sweetness out of the milk.You wont regret trying this coffee shop, if you havent already. They are true third wave coffee. Unlike bitter coffee most of us were used to. A balanced and well extracted espresso allows you to truly taste all the complex flavors of the coffee without having to mask it with sweetener.

I came here for the first time when they opened at 9am. The inside is minimalistic, spacious, clean and has a unique and wonderful vibe. I was helped by Jenny, who was very informative with the menu and specials. She was SOOO nice and friendly and made me feel comfortable.I got the lavender latte, which was AMAZING. The flavor of the espresso with a hint of lavender was incredible. Im usually the type of person to doctor my coffee with all sorts of creamers syrup and sugar, but this latte was perfect as is...and came with the beautiful milk foam art (or whatever its officially called).I had an amazing experience, loved the service and ambiance, and will definitely be back!

Met a friend here to catch up - it was a wonderful choice! The staff was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and the coffee was great. I tried their seasonal sweet potato drink and it tasted like Thanksgiving in the most wonderful way. This coffee shop has set the standards very high for me when it comes to quality in my caffeinated beverage selections since I started frequented this amazing place. They serve the best coffee I’ve ever had. I’ve tried nearly every drink on the menu (hot drip coffee, iced coffees, lattes, cappuccinos, cocktails, the list goes on) and they are delicious and consistent every time. They always have something interesting and innovative to try. The staff are amazing and make me feel like part of the family. The atmosphere is spacious and tasteful. It’s the perfect place to study (there’s a back room that is quiet). Their music creates a sweet vibe if you’re looking for some socializing too. I could go on and on about this cafe. I come here at least once a week. Sadly this is the only picture I have of their coffee art, but their drinks are always insta-worthy. Yes, their prices may be considered high compared to other places, but you get what you pay for and it is so worth it.

My Latte and my husband’s mocha was super creamy and delicious!!! We love the atmosphere and how it is spaced out so we felt super comfortable. Highly recommended 👍🏽👍🏽

Awesome and Cozy! It’s a bit of an industrial look, but the soft background music in the front with an additional “quite” room in the back makes this a great place to go to work, chill, or just enjoy a cup of great coffee! Bathrooms are clean. Their are an abundance of wall outlets. However I would recommend they install desk power cords in the back room. Prices are reasonable (about $5.00), WIFI is fast, and quality of the coffee is on point. What made it really great was the staff. Jefferson and Ella were GEMS!!! Absolutely epitome of customer service! Thanks for the cup of joe, laughs, and a good time!

The event space is awesome! Such a beautiful coffee shop with such a wonder space. We recently held a 2 day work event at Coalescence and it was flawless! The staff was so helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, I highly recommend it for anything from business meetings to baby showers!

I ordered a Tier 3 pourover and loved it. I’m not usually a black coffee drinker, but it was so super smooth I didn’t need creamer at all.Coalescence is beautiful coffee shop - and it’s huge. One of my favorite local coffee shops Ive ever been to hands down. I go to school in Portsmouth so when I want to study I just drive over to Norfolk and come straight here. Its very spacious, lots of natural light, good music, out of this world coffee/tea, and delicious baked treats. They also host cool pop-up events every month, you can tell this spot wants to bring something to the community. The icing on the cake (if it already isnt sweet enough) is that the owners (Jenny & Chris) are super nice & personable people along with the whole team of baristas.

The best Iced Chai Latte out there. The aesthetic and aura at Coalescence is very welcoming. Their bakery items are very delicate and delicious. I really dig the combination of flavors they offer. Jenny is amazing, and always open to conversation. I like how the space is sort of divided by a quiet study area and the main cafe area. If you need a place to go to take a break, catch up on work or just need something good to drink. I super recommend you come to Coalescence. What can I say? This place is WONDERFUL!!!! My apologies but Im speechless at this moment because wording is key and this establishment deserves the proper wording to describe this wonderful place. I love this cute coffee shop in Nofolk! It’s near ODU, a great place to study away from home or campus. Their coffee and treats are delicious! The vibe is perfect and their customer service is so warm. The co owner Jenny is the sweetest, you really see the love and passion she has for their company.

Never had a coffee experience quite like this place. Really clever and delicious curated espresso menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff - seems like it should be pretentious but somehow they are just getting everything right.

No small detail overlooked. For coffee, this place the quality of the coffee beans are evident. Tried a few different drinks from signature menu and the menu on the wall. The signature drinks will change. “Kind of Blue” (pictured) was so smooth and had a beautiful cocktail-style presentation. For space, this place has an amazing open feel. I loved all the seating or standing options and the natural light makes it a place you could spend time working (or just enjoying!).

Parking was fine, the inside is super cute, and the coffee tasted fine, but the piece of almond cake I got was completely raw in the center, and I’m assuming that’s what made my stomach bomb itself an hour later. It also took about 25-30 minutes to get my drink. I’d give it another shot to see if the next experience was more buttoned up.

Such a great spot! I came here for a morning yoga class and grabbed an oatmilk cappuccino afterwards. The atmosphere is open and creative. There are tables, a bar, and some comfy chairs and a couch. Great little spot to hang out or work.

Loved the vibe and the service was friendly. Ordered the tier-2 coffee and was not very impressed. I did appreciate that it was brewed fresh, but the flavor was slightly off-putting. Quaint selection of baked goods, would have loved to see a gluten-free option.

Coalescence is my favorite coffee shop in all of Norfolk and Virginia Beach. The owners are INCREDIBLE people, the shop has a beautiful, modern and calm atmosphere, and there is always space to sit as it is such a large location. I couldnt praise it enough and would highly recommend going.

Great atmosphere and wonderful people! The coffee is excellent and they have non dairy milks ( oat, almond & I think soy). The blueberry muffins are great and my one year old loves the biscotti. If you can have dairy, my husband reccomends the milkshakes when they have them.

We had an amazing experience at Coalescence this morning! Got there around 7:30am and the place was perfectly inviting with calm jazz playing and tons of open, socially distanced seating options. The staff was super friendly and went through the whole menu with us to find the perfect drink and food options. The coffee is SUPER reasonably priced! Much less than surrounding coffee shops. This is in part due to the fact that Coalescence is a non-profit. They are able to invest their funds back into the community instead of paying off investors and other business-related expenses. The space is gorgeous and impeccably clean. The staff is eager to make you the perfect drink. And the food- oh my! Absolutely divine. We tried the chive cheddar scone (still warm), the rosemary lemon scone, and the almond cake. It is impossible to pick a favorite, as they were all incredible. But I couldn’t stop going back for more bites of the savory scone. We tried a Tier 3 pour-over & the Miel, as well as a straight shot of espresso, served with mineral water (so fancy!). One of the owners, Jenny, took the time to chat with us about the coffee shop and it’s origins as well as the intentional thought and effort behind each and every detail of the company. We will definitely be frequenting this awesome new gem in the up and coming railroad district (also known as Park Place neighborhood).

If you’re in Norfolk, and you appreciate quality coffee, you have to try this new spot. It had just opened when I was there in July and I was super impressed. The staff was friendly and I appreciated the fact that they appeared to all be very well trained and precise. I got an iced latte and it was so smooth. I wish I lived closer to this coffee shop.

The first time I was here I tried the cappuccino. That had not been one of my go to drinks in the past but it may be from now on. It was smooth and flavorful and I was dreaming of it till I could get back and have it again. It did not disappoint. The second time I was here this specialty drink - espresso with blueberry lemon reduction over ice caught my eye. It deserves 10 stars! I think this may be my new obsession.The space is also gorgeous. Clean, modern and airy with high ceilings that create a spacious feel that you don’t usually experience in a coffee shop but is especially welcome in this time of Covid.

Ive only been in 3-4 times, have always gotten a pour over and once a coffee old fashioned mocktail. Everything has always been amazing and the space is gorgeous. I rarely leave reviews but the service is what sets this place apart and makes it worth sharing. Every time Ive been in the same barista has helped me, I believe Jenny based on some other reviews. She is super knowledgeable and has no problem answering my likely mundane questions to help me with my at home pour overs. Any time Im in the area, Coalescence is a must stop.

Have you tried the Kinda Blue? No? Well go now and get your mind blown. Its an iced blueberry and lemon espresso drink and honestly every sip is like retasting a whole new flavour EACH time. I have honestly never experienced coffee like this (and I was working in coffee for over 6 years). Plus I mean the people there are so friendly you cant but help love their energy.Its open and bright and simply refreshing when you walk in and then trust me, try the Kind of Blue (the name is that or pretty close) and you will definitely be blown away.

For our first time visiting we were left a little disappointed. The atmosphere was lovely and the staff very friendly, but our wait for 2 drinks was unacceptable. We sat for 45 minutes for a latte and americano, the latter of which was 90% water and had no taste of coffee. The staff seemed to work very slow, were too focused on being precise and got an extreme back up of drinks. We hope to visit again once things have smoothed out but not in the immediate future. Again, everyone working was very apologetic but we won’t want to waste so much time again.

Great coffee, biscotti and management! They had an unexpectedly busy opening weekend. The wait times were understandably a little long but the owners were very attentive to those who were waiting. They offered us biscotti and a cute reusable bag! I order a oat milk latte with local honey and it was delicious! I’ll definitely be coming in again!!

What an awesome venue to gather caffeine & conservation! Delightful baristas preparing made to order brews. The minimalist, airy loft space is so relaxing with great music at the perfect volume to conversate or loose yourself in the groove of its just MeTime!! I really enjoyed my time at Coalescence yesterday! The Cortado I ordered was excellent and the baristas were very nice! The decor was very hip, modern and clean. I really like how there is PLENTY of seating too. Definitely going to be spending a lot of time there.
