The toy selection is expansive much larger than the lynnhaven Pkwy store, because half of that store is dedicated to the Babies R Us. They were open really late, I believe after midnight on the 23rd of December which was helpful when I was scrambling to find a gift I couldnt find elsewhere. I do find many items to be a higher price at toys r us vs target or walmart but I have also found a few items cheaper here than the previously mentioned chains or even amazon. Its hit and miss on prices but the selection and amount of in stock cannot be beat.

Staff are always really great here. I cant believe that there are only days left! This was my favorite childhood store and now my daughters favorite store. The fact that its closing is so sad to our family. We loved the birthday club and the registries you could do for just about every holiday.

User friendly, professional staff.

Store was fully stocked of every kind of toy you can imagine. Even though the store was crowded because of Christmas the staff was very pleasant and helpful when asked questions. Prices on toys were excellent. Plenty of parking available. it was a very good experience.

Absolutely horrible customer service! First off, let me say, we have always had a positive experience at Toys R Us, until this store. The manager and staff will not do price matches. After telling us they would price match, and even tracking me down in the aisle TWICE to confirm the price, when we got to the register they wouldnt honor the it. It was a $9 price difference! It was about 10 minutes until closing and it was like they just wanted us to leave. I would not reccomend this store.I would like to updated my initial review. I spoke to store manager, Mike, and he apologized for our experience and price matched our item. Which is all I wanted. Mike was very nice. Our initial experience had been with an Assistant Manager. However, we have been using the Virginia Beach location since this incident. The staff at that location is just friendlier and more accommodating of the price matching policy.

Fairly decent selection of baby/toddler Developmental Toys. I really wish they had out of box display items available for Developmental Toys so that you could get a good idea of what exactly you are getting in a boxed item before you buy it. Its really important, especially when purchasing for a special needs child.

Nice store, staff was wonderful, but as usual with toys-r-us its way over priced compared to many other companies. I go there for the nostalgia and so my kids can feel like I used to at Christmas time. Best time to go is when they have a sale (15% off for military was why I went) then it at least makes things the same price as other stores.

Excellent, helpful staff. They did not have what I wanted, but they tried their best.to find it locally. I enjoyed my trip there.

Usually fine but I was waiting in a short line forever so long I had to leave my purchase and walk out because the cashier was offering almost every reward he could think of and sweet talking the lady in front of me. I had to hurry home to get my child off the bus so needless to say I have to wait another day to get and hide my sons gift.

Well stocked if lightly staffed. Clean, brightly lit with ample parking and a large store space. Most expensive place to buy toys, but the depth of stock and lines is usually extensive, including exclusives.

50% OFF!! What a serious JOKE!! Its still cheaper @other places!! There is nothing discounted in this entire store!!!! Toys R Us is always been overpriced its no surprise theyre going out of business, theyve always catered to the people who were dumb enough to believe, if you pay more for something it must be a better product!! the products are all made by the same places and distributed by the same distributor.

A great American store and landmark. It is a terrible shame that Toys R Us will be closing. I am honored that I was able to being a little something home from them. I wish there was some way to save our Toys R Us from closing.

Asked a customer service representative to check the value of my gift card and from me saying hi to bye, she didnt utter one word. From the look of her face, she obviously didnt like her job nor wished to be there. These visits are typical with an occasional nice cashier. Very unfortunate, but thats how you can tell how the manager is...

I will never go there again for any Christmas gifts. Purchased a defective tablet and getting the run around while trying to replace it for my son. Its just ridiculous and the customer service is not good at all! Would not recommend anybody to go there. Really my first and last time doing business with them.

Sales have started, only 10% on most items, but it already looks a bit raided. There are actually a few items here and there items with broken or missing packaging and pieces that are still tagged for full price too. Definitely wait this location out as long as you can before making a clearance visit.

Go to a different location! This place is messy, the lighting is weird, and the shelves are dirty. The cashier was literally texting on her cell phone the entire time the guest in front of us was checking out, then the whole time I was running my card. I had to stare at her for several minutes before she finally realized she had to total my purchases so I could finish the steps on the pin pad. As a former retail manager I wanted to scream the entire time I was in this store.i thought since the outside was recently remodeled, the inside would be decent. Someone from district or corporate needs to go clean house and turn over these employees.

I recently placed a layaway. Went to pull layaway out. After an hour of waiting. Clerk came to tell me, my layaway was misplaced that they had to go and manually pull each toy I had on layaway per the receipt back from the floor. So I asked what if my product is sold out then what. The manager made a sarcastic comment saying well then we will have to reorder online and have it shipped home. That is not acceptable, because 1. We left that next day for Christmas to head out of town. Its not my problem that my package was misplaced by your employees. Its Christmas. So the guy saw my frustration and went and searched harder for my product that was sold out and luckily he found it. I will not be purchasing from that toys R Us ever again

They still have the entrance door on one side and exit on the other side. It was raining and nasty out. I never liked that. Service though was great. Went 2 times today. Both people were great.

Ive been to this location a few times and its kept up well. Workers are helpful and all that jazz. Toys r us is just overpriced, and this is one of (all?) locations shutting down.

Not enough people working, long lines, store layout is hard to navigate, most prices are ridiculously inflated. I only went to exchange something I bought online that arrived damaged, otherwise I wouldnt go near the place during the holiday season.

A toy store. Not much else. The bankruptcy is not altering anything obvious. You can get something cheaper somewhere else but not this selection. So, choose price or selection. Otherwise, this is not any place your would ever visit. I did not look into their baby section, thats your call.

Toys R Us is going out of business. The store has fell behind in the shopping industry over the years. There prices are higher then majority of stores and online. The clearance prices are only 10% off. If you have money to waste go here. They were not very friendly but I never saw an employee either. They are a staple in history and will be missed but they could not survive the way they are ran.

Typical kids toy center. Clean and tidy. Smiling faces of staff members each time Ive gone. No complaints.

The going out of business sale is a joke. With discounts they are stool more expensive than Wal-Mart and others which is why they have to go out of business.

I knew this place was closing but DAMN it was empty. Had two good sections of the same toys. Barbies and these forrest monsters. Went with my nephew but he just followed me around just as amazed as I was. There is really nothing else left to grab so get going while you can.

Had everything I was looking for and staff was readily. They have to work on the checkout lines. Moves too slow.

The place is a sorry excuse for a toys r us. very few interactive toys and the ones that were not in a lexan window box, were broken or not working. sad sad sad not the place for a toddler to explore and learn. dont take kids there, the place is just for adults.... lame .. shame

Horrible customer service in a dirty store. Several customers including myself are waiting for merchandise pickup. There are 4 cashiers standing in the department just hanging out with one person going out getting toys that should be up here waiting on us. These customer service people just standing around does not look good no one asked if we needed help no one is volunteering to help out another cashier they all just have a it’s not my problem look on their face

We always end up picking up our daughters friends birthday presents here. Always has what we need.

This made the fourth time trying to shop at this store, after seeing a T/V commercial and the items I was looking for were not in stock... I can understand once, maybe even twice, but the third and fourth time is unacceptable. I will try the other store at Lynnhaven Mall, they usually stock up and have what Im looking for, Im not stupid, I know after four times I should just go there first he the Military Hwy store is a lot closer and less traffic, I guess thats why their never to busy... everyone else knows to just go to Lynnhaven.

Prices tend to be a little higher than neighboring retailers, but the selection is typically better. An unfortunate downturn in the business cycle is driving this retailer out of business. Get the deals while they last!

I received a transaction receipt email from this store on my email address although I live in Milwaukee, WI and havent been to Virginia in 12 years. I was on hold for 30 mins after letting them know about this incident waiting for the manager to get on call. If a possible fraudulent transaction doesnt ring the alarm bells for this store management, I dont know how people feel secure to shop here! Bad example and no wonder the company is going under.

The old manager was Completly rude I have never been more disrespected than I have been here.....NEVER BRING YOUR CHILD HERE! I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT AT ALL.

Run-down and dirty. While they have a decent selection here, this place suffers from being outdated and poorly maintained.

They wouldn’t price match and kept arguing with me and my boyfriend. they were rude and weren’t updating us on what was happening when they were trying to figure out what to do. i work at another toys r us and i know the manager would do the price match so it was ridiculous. never going here again and i recommend you don’t either.

I called the store to ask whether or not they had a toy in stock, and was put on hold for a while. After growing impatient, I hung up and called back again. The phone rang for a while, and then I heard an employee say something then hang up the phone. I figured that maybe this was a mistake, so I called back yet another time only to be hung up on again! Extremely rude. They could have at least answered and asked me to please wait, then put me on hold. Very poor customer service.

Toys r Us ruined my sons christmas...he was given a powerwheel for christmas by his great grandmother who has deceased since purchasing it....it stopped working within an hour and had to be returned...they would only give me the lowest selling price for the last 30 days w/o the receipt which was only 100 due to black friday...now I cant afford to replace it and his brothers is still working...the return policy is ridiculous.... I have been told since that the manager could have printed the receipt it just takes time, which I guess she didnt have...thanks a lot
