Completely understaffed for Halloween season. Not the employees fault, definitely just terrible management

Im in line right now. Associates at this location have no regard for customers. It’s Halloween time so I know its busy but not picking up the pace and not caring is another thing. I was waiting at the pick up line and 1 girl was helping someone with balloons. I was there for about 12 mins. She was just taking her time thing the baloons. Theres another girl chatting with her. When the customer left the girl also leaves. I look at the other girl. Nothing. Then she finally makes a gesture. I gave her my pick up name and she slowly walks to the back. Comes back and says your order is not ready. I got a confirmation email 13 hours ago. She goes back with my order number. She was too lazy to look it up the first time. Finally comes back with a bag. Never checked for my ID and just gives me the bag. I don’t understand how these ppl stay employed. They are just wasting time to get paid. This is a reflection of management

The place was not busy and the young girl in the cashier today was very nice and cheerful. Ready and willing to help any person that was on line. Even when you enter the store you hear and feel her positive vibe. Please party city keep her, she is a valuable assist to have in the company.

The gentleman working in the front filling up balloons at 9am was so kind and generous!!! He replaced balloons that deflated and couldn’t be refilled, and did it all with a smile! So refreshing to have such a positive experience so early in the morning on a Saturday!

More variety than expected... definitely is the perfect place to get what you need for any find of party. Recommended 100%

Kelly, the associate who helped me was so kind and helpful. She assisted me in picking a theme for my party, as well as suggesting party games that fit the theme. I ended up purchasing more than I needed!

They dont have any party stuff for two year old birthday its horrible and hardly any minnie mouse stuff ....and very expensive when they do have anything

Party City had a nice assortment of costumes from what I noticed. The earlier you go, the more of a chance you have to check out their huge selection. Staff was friendly but some not very knowledgeable. My son wanted to be Harry Potter. When I asked where the harry potter stuff was located, one rep. sent me to other side of the store, while the other took me right to it. The waiting to try on the costume wasnt long at all. Check out was quick and easy. Guess the earlier you go, the more fun youll actually have shopping! That harry potter costume - cloak, scarf, tie, wand, glasses was about 70 dollars. But my kid had a great time at the store. Will definitely get our costumes here next year again!

The curbside pickup tht says its supposed to be ready in 2 hours is completely not ready after 2 hours!!! But they were very accommodating and stayed overtime so we cld find the stuff we needed since the curbside order was not ready. Website is also very inaccurate and says items are in stock but u get to the store and they arent

Ordered online and picked up my goods.So easy! But still ended up wandering around and finding some other great stuff for kids party favors. In the front theres a huge sale section where everything is dirt cheap. So if you have a party to plan and you dont have a big budget go check out those bins! In the back they have toys!

Went here during the weekend for last minute supplies for my daughter’s birthday. Everything is organized and clean but the stuff was unhelpful I was having a hard time finding a specific piñata (that I checked online and said the store had a quantity of 5)and an employee saw me looking around and didn’t ask if i needed help? and since he was too busy on his cell, I didn’t want to interrupt him. Then when I was paying a poor lady was having a hard time finding something as well and asked the cashier and the cashier completely ignored her. (the lady was asking her in spanish but thats not an excuse) like I always say if you don’t like your job then quit

Great place to have fun with my daughters. A nice place to goof around, buy candy and try different outfits. Not a lot of people working there so expect waiting to get what you need.

I have Always been to this party city ever since I could remember but today completely changed my experience at this PC, I had the pleasure of having Claudia as my cashier today and she went above and beyond to help me. I was Shopping for my daughter’s birthday today and i was On a budget and she did everything in her power to help me out with my items and I ended up saving more then I thought. It would be a shame if the store ever lost her as an employee. She is extremely sweet and has excellent customer service :)

I bought balloons online it clearly says ...purchased balloons can be filled at no extra charged..they said no ...i showed the recipe it was for my sons 1st birthday...but its ok never coming back to this location ...(Edgwater 👍👍👍👍location is way better customer service)..😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡

This Party City is by far my favorite one yet. Looks clean inside and is not hard to find things. I got in and out in less than 15 minutes. The line was long, about 12 people ahead of me, but it was moving quick. A little far from where I live, but they were the closest Party City that had what I needed and then some.

I have done some shopping (through Party City) and here at the North Bergan Plaza one plenty of times and each time I have gone, its very hard to find an employee willing to work with to help find what youre looking for. Saying that they are packing up those items, means that they may have the item, somewhere in the back, just dont want to look through the boxes to find the item. (And dont get me started about long lines and 4 hour shopping horrors with a kid to find Halloween costumes.) Between trying to find items and finding employees to ask questions to, you would be better off calling ahead/checking online first before a visit or go and hope to fend for yourself. I have had better experiences at other Party Citys, just not particularly this one. To fellow costumers, good luck and maybe its time to see how the online experience may be instead...

Despite always being crowded and busy, this store is big, well stocked and the employees always try to help. Many times Ive phoned ahead so I dont waste a trip, and unlike other Party Citys where they just hang up, the employees at this store answer and genuinely try to help.

Love coming her for costumes party decorations or even toys. Sometimes they dont have it on site but is available in the internet.

Ive always gone here for all my party decor, and will continue to go!!!

I had planned a surprise party for my boyfriend and thanks to the help of Mercedes and Jass the manager. From the beginning I walked into the store at 9:30 am I was the first one and Mercedes had spotted me and I was asking for advice and help to order balloons 🎈 online for pick up in another location that would be closer to the place I will be celebrating my boyfriends birthday. She gave me options on what to do and how to do it she was great at multitasking by helping other customers and myself (in which I was in no rush at all). Jass the manager came in the picture and gave her opinion and suggested what would be better, as in color design and how many balloons too get. She also gave the other location in the Bronx a phone call to see if I can order for pick up over the phone and they said sure it was possible. The reason why so far because the place is close to where I will be celebrating my boyfriend’s party. Twenty minutes later, I gave the other location a phone call to place an order for pick up over the phone and I was told it was impossible to do and they will not be able to do it. At that point I wanted to give up, and cry but I went back to party city in North Bergen and asked for Jass and she was in shocked on what the other location had said so she called the other location while attending other customers and dealing with my situation and provided them with my name and they sure enough helped me with my order over the phone. Jass provided me with outstanding customer service she waited by my side to make sure I was satisfied with what I got from the other location she made sure I left the store happy she made sure I got what I want. Just know I will be back at party city if I ever needed help I will only ask for Mercedes or Jass because they are what customer service is all about they make sure you leave satisfied. :)

Its large and offers a variety of different products. They also never count how many candy you get for the 10 for 1 dollar. Ive gotten a few dollars worth of candy free on one ocassion.

We ordered balloons for our son’s 30th birthday. We specifically asked that 1 helium happy 30th balloon be together with Gold latex balloon and one black latex balloon. We ordered 4 groups of 3 balloons together. In addition, we ordered and put aside weights that said 30th birthday. When we picked up the balloons they were clumped all together in one enormous tangled mess!!!!!! When we got to the venue, we tried in vain to separate the balloons, but it was impossible! They also lost one of our weights! When my daughter picked up the balloons all they could say was “sorry”! Because of their incompetence, we couldn’t place the balloons as centerpieces on each table so we just left them together and it ruined the entire effect! It’s not about the money but it was $60 for the balloons and we were soo disappointed in the level of service at this Party City! I write reviews to help other people so be careful if you order from the North Bergen store because they obviously don’t care about pleasing their customers!!

So I’m not one to post complains or give negative reviews, but my experience today at the North Bergen Party City was beyond disappointing. So basically I asked the store sales person for a custom for my nephew and he actually got upset stormed to the back huffing and grunting to retrieve the custom for me and was annoyed with another customer who wanted a ballon which he stated they don’t have, which I actually had to step in and let the customer know where to find the ballon she wanted in the front. I then needed to use the restroom and had to press the button for the assistances since a sales person has to let you in because you need the code to open the door and to my wonderful luck it was the same sales clerk which he actually slammed open the door for me. At this point I get his name which is Vick and guess what he is the manager of this Party City. I did let him know that his behavior was very inappropriate and other customer agreed with me and said he was beyond rude and mean. I have to say I have been a good customer to this store but trust me I will drive a little further and take my money to Edgewater party city next time.

A great place, unfortunately they raised their price by a lot while they reduced the time by a lot! It used to be $17 for the whole day, now its $25 for only 2 hours. Disappointing.

It gets full in the holidays but they are nice people. Theres always someone willing to help.

The store was big dont get me wrong but the section for grown ups birthday party was such a small section. To blow up balloons is expensive and a few things can equal 100 dollars. The store was clean. And the staff was nice.

Aside that party city is completely over priced. This store is a mess it smells so bad is disorganized and on top of that every time i go to this store there is a line of at least 20 customers just for one register. They never have enough registers mean while 4 girls doing the balloons together chatting and having fun. I prefer to drive to another party city because this is ridiculous and on top of that the staff is rude.

Customer service here sucks. Jess made me wait while she blew up 8 balloons before she helped me even though I was the only person at the register. I said I need to go and she said Im preparing an order for a customer from yesterday and then she blew up 2 more balloons before she rang me up. Started blowing up my balloons then someone else came to the checkout and she ran over to help them and left me waiting again while she rang them up and had a 5 minute phone conversation before she called someone else up to finish blowing up.my balloons. When you see a customer you should help them and finish their order before you start another one and not make them wait forever like she did.

Order was ready but balloons had lost air and had to be replaced. Staff was helpful but overwhelmed by customers.

Fast pick up service

I have been to this Party City a few times. The staff is polite, friendly, and helpful. Nonetheless, I cannot over-recommend buying your Halloween costumes early, like in JULY!!!

Never have a problem with cashier, staff, products or finding someone to help me. I am lucky because I haven’t experienced a long waiting line for the cashier, only for Halloween but come on! It’s halloween of course it would be a line. And being in a line means you have to wait no matter where you are.

Created an unnecessary fiasco before our party. We went in advance to the Secaucus location to find out when we should have our confetti latex balloons inflated - they said night before was fine. Fast forward a week later, we were in Hoboken and this location was closer, so we asked them to inflate the balloons. First, they tell us that they will only last 6 hours (quick Google search disputes this), then they tell us they cannot use spray to prolong them (also not true), then finally, they suggest we buy our own helium tank after much back and forth. We did. The balloons lasted 48 hours without spray...first location was right and had a better selection of everything else we needed. Save yourself the headache - go to a different location.

This store and its staff are an unprofessional mess. By far the worst customer service I have received. Very poor communication between it and other stores. The staff working there is inappropriate, uncaring and non-reliable. 4 days before new years eve holiday and all supplies were still sitting in boxes in the middle of the store. I was referred to target by the staff, denied the stores identification number and corporate number as according to the cashier she did not have it, turns out the number is 1-800-party-city. Absolutely disgusted with this location, leaves much to say in regards to the corporation that runs it.
