We worked with Sims-Lohman through our contractor during a kitchen remodel. Our representative was less than ideal through the process. She gave the impression that we were an inconvenience for her on more than one occasion and left us feeling frustrated. Any time there was a problem she was quick to lay blame on everyone else and made sure we knew it was not her fault. During our project we heard how a co-worker, our contractor, and even us were to blame for different hiccups. Below is our last email exchange after we discovered a few areas needing their attention. Let me be clear - we are happy with our granite choice; the color is beautiful. However, you can decide for yourself if you want to work with them after reading this.-----My Email 1----HiWe are cleaning up construction and discovered a bur on the counter top that need ground down. This is on a separate piece from the sink that broke. Can we get someone out here to fix itThanks-----My Email 2----We also discovered a chip along the back along the wall.-----Sims-Lohman Response-----Hiplease send photos of the issues .When you were considering Sunset Canyon for your countertops, I showed you in our showroom that this is not a βperfectβ stone without pitting, hairline cracks, fissures, etc. . I had you feel the fill spots and the roughness. This is the nature of Sunset Canyon. I did my due diligence to try to persuade you away from it, and suggested other stones that were smooth and free from the characteristics that are inherent in Sunset Canyon. This is why I had suggested your original choice, Makalu Bay/Classic White. Which is a bit similar in color without all these natural occurring hairline, fissures & cracks that is indictive of Sunset Canyon. Of course, We are happy to repair these issues, but many of these are naturally occurring. Please refer to your contract in the section that addresses this.I know you had looked at many stones, so I just wanted to bring back to light what we had discussed about Sunset Canyon and to reassure you that much of this is the nature of this stone. Please have the service tech look over the entire counter when he comes to address all concerns while he is there. He will be happy to take care of this for you. πThanks for bringing this to my attention and once I have you photos of the issues, I can submit this for service.Best,
I know my review is long, but PLEASE READ IT! This is the place you should go for ANYTHING kitchen or bath related. I had nothing but an amazing experience from beginning to finish. The amount of options they had for both quartz and granite was amazing compared to the dozens of other places we looked. Their showroom is huge! Mary worked with my husband and I in the salesroom and was so kind and patient. I came in on a Saturday to look and she sent me a quote the immediate Monday. When we came in to sign the contract we had a few questions about the installing that she didnt know the answer to, so instead of leaving us with unanswered questions, she reached out to the installers and had an email answer to us within a day. From the date of signing the contract, our countertops were installed within 3 weeks. At other places we were quoted 2 plus months if not longer. She followed up multiple times throughout the entire process to make sure everything was running smoothly. Even the immediate day after install she reached out to ensure everything was perfect. She even helped us submit a change of order request when we added more backsplash than originally ordered. The installers were more than wonderful the day of. We have an accent brick wall and they needed to remove some of the brick in order to shift our countertop down slightly, so that our stove would fit in place. They removed about 2 rows, and on the corner I was worried about seeing part of the wall underneath and it looking odd with removing a whole brick. So, the installers went the extra mile to cut/chisel my brick ever so slightly into an L shape (See photo) that way the countertop slid right into that area without removing the entire brick. They didnt have to do that, and I know it would have been so much easier to just remove the entire brick, but they went above and beyond to ensure I was happy. They were out cutting in the rain, and were at my house for about 4 hours because of the brick. They were extremely friendly the entire time and cleaned up after the job. You would have never even known they were there. I was extremely worried about this job, but from start to finish everyone was extremely friendly and helpful!!
I would Highly recommend CTS Sims-Lohman for any tile selections for any large or small project. They have a huge selection! Beautiful Showroom and best service! Our salesperson Mary was the best in directing us to build dream bathrooms and kitchen! Her knowledge of what styles and brands that would make our style and ideas come to life! Thank you Mary for all your help!!
I would never recommend anyone use these unprofessional liars. They installed our granite countertops and placed a huge epoxy spot where the stone had been damaged front and center in our kitchen, then tried to avoid me when I tried to get answers and someone to come out and look at it. This is how it all went:I spoke with Kathy about how unhappy my wife and I were with the companyβs job on our granite countertop installation. The company installed the countertops on Wednesday, March 4th. They missed their initial installation window of between 8-10am, and we were not notified. It was only after I called to see where their team was at 10:15am that Kathy told me they were going to pick up our sink in Youngstown and would be there between 11-1, but she would call me after she spoke with the driver and give me a more exact time. Well, she never called me, but they did make that window by showing up at 12:59pm. After they installed the countertops and left, my wife and I noticed a few issues, aside from the lack of communication.First, we noticed a 3in x 2in yellowish spot in the front of the slab between our fridge and stove. Upon a little closer inspection, it was a spot filled with epoxy, rough to the touch, and a huge eye sore. We inspected the rest of the counter with a fine tooth comb and could not find anything remotely close to that epoxy spot. The rest of the counter looked completely normal.Second, something dripped white spots all over our front walkway. My wife tried to scrub them out, but had no luck.Third, we found the sink is not square in the cut out.Fourth, the hole cut for the faucet wasnβt perfectly centered. It was off by over Β½ in.I spoke with Kathy about all of this the day after, 3/5/20, and she tried to tell me that all stones have epoxy in them. So, we went to the show room floor because I wanted to see another slab with an epoxy spot. We walked around for 5-10 min, and she could not find one. I took her card and told her I would be in touch and send her the pictures. The next day, 3/6/20, I called back and spoke with Kathy, told her how unhappy my wife and I were with the counters(the epoxy spot, in particular). I requested that someone from Canton Cut Stone or Sims-Lohman come out to assess the counters. My wife and I want the epoxy spot gone, removed from site, slab replacedβ¦whatever it takes. The company would never allow a spot like this in their model kitchen. She stated she would pass along this information to George. I then sent her the images so she could pass them along to him. I did not hear from them for over a week. It was only because I went to the store and confronted them that they scheduled someone to come out to our house to look at the stone. One of their workers came out and looked at the countertop on 3/17/20 and agreed that it was a poor epoxy repair, but that he could repair it to the point we wouldnt know there was anything off about the stone. They repaired the epoxy spot on 3/19/20. The worker that came out was pleasant and did, probably, as much as could be done to the spot. The company never followed up afterwards to check if we were satisfied with their sad attempt at fixing their mistakes. I have included the before and after pictures, including the stained sidewalk from whatever was dripped.
Really, really nice showroom! Well organized stone inventory with a nice selection of materials. And Kim Dudley did an excellent job in helping us choose materials based on our samples and preferences. A very good experience here.
This was our second counter top purchase from Canton Cut Stone/CTS Sims. Mary was a pleasure to work with and always went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. She worked with us to get our kitchen back together during the COVID-19 crisis and was pleasant throughout the process. I highly recommend them!
We used Canton Cut stone while building our house recently. Our builder sent us up to Cleveland initially but I preferred to stay local. Im so glad we took the time to visit the warehouse. We ended up saving money and finding a much better selection than we had previously seem. We worked with Mary and her knowledge and experience was of great help! I would recommend this business and absolutely use them in the future. Many thanks for such great service!
We are very happy with our new granite countertops. Cindy W. was great! She kept in contact with us through the stay at home order. Had everything lined up and ready to go after we viewed our slabs. Very easy process! Everyone who can into my house was very polite and skilled at their job. I highly recommend CTS-Sims-Lohman.
We had the pleasure of working with Mary throughout the building process of our new home. Not only is Mary helpful, she has a keen eye for what is trending while catering to your personal tastes. She was readily available to answer all of our questions as well. We highly recommend CTS Sims-Lohman and Mary! Our house looks amazing!
Mary Ferrante helped us with flooring and counters for our home and business. She gives great advice, but does not pressure the customer in any way. She is very knowledgeable about her products, very detail oriented, and has tremendous follow-through. We could not be more pleased with the end results...working with Mary was an absolute pleasure.
We had a new countertop installed in our kitchen this past November. We were very pleased with the entire process beginning with ordering to the looks of the finished product. We were also happy with the time frame we ordered to date of installation. The employees who installed worked fast and were very professional. We were also pleased with the professionalism of the guy who came out to take measurements. We are happy we chose Canton Cut Stone.Thank you!
We had issues getting the countertops we wanted at another provider and were given quite a bit of runaround. Kim took care of us and provided prompt service and a great price. Everyone we dealt with was courteous and professional. We love our granite countertops and the blanco under mount sink. Great experience here and we highly recommend!
Mary @ the Canton store was amazing, she made the entire process seamless and hassle free. Our new vanity top looks amazing and was installed within 2wks of our visit to the store. We plan to visit again as we continue to remodel our home!
Great people, excellent selection of granite.
Worst experience ever. The floor u guys broke its not fixed till today and cabinets door is still the same way.10/31/2020 at 1:50 Pm.
This store never disappoints! Their selection is outstanding and the customer service they provide throughout the entire experience is excellent. Kim Dudley was truly the glue that held my project together when Covid 19 hit and everything slowed down. Not only did she help me with decisions for counter tops on the front end but her follow through to coordinate scheduling of her installers along with my other contractors proved to be seamless.Steve Fedder who helped design and track order delivery of my cabinets was also fantastic! Kim and Steve helped break down a large project to something very manageable. I highly recommend CTS Sims-Lohman!
Ive used CTS Sims-Lohman twice to install granite kitchen countertops at two different houses. I went back because of the excellent customer service and quality they provide! Mary Ferrante is such a talented designer and helped me pick out everything from the granite to well, quite literally, my kitchen sink! The installation and service gentlemen were professional and courteous. Remodeling scares me, but everyone there made it so easy and stress free. We will definitely return for our next project!
Great business with a great selection. Kim was a huge help and very accommodating. Highly recommend!
We worked with Mary Ferrante who was extremely helpful in making sure that all of our needs were met. She offered many suggestions and was very professional whenever we met with her, She knows the product and answered all of the many questions we had. The installers did an excellent job. We highly recommend Mary and Canton Cut Stone. They exceeded our expectations.
Love counters. They were super helpful and professional. They got the job done right and exactly how I wanted it.
Staff was very easy and friendly to work with. Kathy helped up pick our initial stone and also helped match a piece that we added later in the project. Scheduling was timely. Installers were prompt and professional. Would use Canton Cut Stone again.
They had an excellent and knowledgeable staff. Also, lots of amazing product. I would strongly recommend.
Staff was unwelcoming and answered questions with short or one-word answers. I went in with dimensions and an idea of what patterns I liked. I left with the promise of a quote, which was a hassle to get, on a stone that wasnt what I was looking for.
Call the service in product
Very disappointed in the service we had going to look at counter tops... the lady was so rude we walk in and she was dead stairing at me until i had to say something to her as we are just standing their waiting for her to say anything. Then we had to have her show us slabs and before we could even see what it was or anything she would tell us NO that we couldnt have that one or this on... id be better off going into a landfill finding something better than the scraps they had for a selection. Then after looking around NOT EVEN PICKING OUT ANYTHING she sends an estimate to our contractor when we didnt even find anything or pick out anything at all.Was super disappointed and will never bring my business back!
Great customer service and patience with us we changed our minds a few different times. Very accommodating.
Used to be a good store before they moved. Now their staff is not very knowledgeable, and are also rude to customers. Weve spent a lot of money there in the past, but would never recommend them now. Buyer beware, they will steer you wrong, then not refund you money when the product comes in different than the display piece they provided.
Remind your truck drivers that the company name is on your vehicle.
Excellent company to work with! Very happy with our floor tile, granite counters and more!
We purchased tile and granite from Canton Cut Stone for our bathroom remodel. After looking at several different stores with so many options we frankly felt overwhelmed. Mary Ferrante offered us great advice on options that fit the classic look we were wanted to achieve in our almost century home. She has a great eye for quality, style and colors and offered very practical advice as well. During the install we had some issues with the granite backsplash not fitting correctly due to our walls being uneven. Thankfully Canton Cut Stone helped us correct the issue by coming back out and removing the backsplash and reinstalling after we addressed the issue. I highly recommend this company and Mary Ferrante. Honest, great customer service and extensive product selection.
I worked with Anthony Piatko. He is very professional and I would highly recommend him to everyone.
So many choices to fit every style! And amazing service!!
