Came in pretty late on a Friday night.They had what I needed.Elly was helpful in finding what I asked for and made suggestions of similar items that might suit me as well.The frozen bait I bought caught lots of fish.Prices were pretty average for a sporting goods store.2 of the fish that took their shrimp at station 22 beach in the pics.

Placed an order online. B/o info was unavailable but I was shipping to the N Charleston store so I called to see if I could get somewhere with them. Without asking they cancelled my order and brought in house to have more control. They transferred in my items in no time. What Im sure wouldve been a headache turned out pretty smoothly. So its got to be one of the smallest West Marines I have ever been in but they keep most all the basic needs in stock... I needed a couple of things in a last minute pinch and it saved me the long ride to Savannah highway

Normally this is my go to west marine. However this experience was different. Bought a new radio yesterday and installed it but it was missing the fuse and didn’t operate as it should. I took it in to get an exchange and the manager “Elly, or Elley” refused to try to help me resolve it. She then would not help me and instead insisted on checking out customers though I had been waiting. She simply told me to call the radios 1-800 support number which I tried and is inactive. Poor customer service on her part. I recommend any other west marine but this one was a bad experience. I feel bad that West Marine l let’s Elly represent them as a manager, she could use a lesson in customer service.

Price matching is a joke. We really try to buy from local merchants, but West Marine makes it too hard. They offer “price matching” with Amazon, but when we tried to use Amazon to price match marine oil, West Marine refused to match because it was from a “second source”. (Amazon’s price was $17 cheaper/gallon). That makes no sense, because when did Amazon start producing ANY marine goods as a “primary source”? It was just an excuse not to price match. West Marine will not get another penny from us. I just hit the “buy now” button on Amazon from that “second source”. I will do that from now on and save myself money AND the time spent in Charleston traffic trying to support “local”.

Been coming to this location for years. They are not one of larger locations that have tons of clothing, but typically have everything you need to fish locally. Have a decent selection of marine items and will order anything that is not in stock for you. Customer service has always been excellent for me.

Love this place. They have knowledgeable employees and anything you could want for boating. The price can be a little high sometimes, but they off set that with good sales. You can find boating repair kits, lighting, electronics, trailer equipment, tires, spark plugs, life jackets, rods, reels, and even crab pots. Pretty much anything you need for your boat.

Had a Bilge pump go out on me right away, stopped in 5minutes away they helped me find it and put it on in the parking lot. Good storr

I Initially wrote this for the Saint Andrews store, but meant it for the Rivers Ave store.The guys at this store are boaters and have lots of exp. on the water to help new boaters make good buying decisions based on their needs. I had a Lowrance 5dsi and saw some new features on the next released model that I wanted to have(map overlays and Chirp), since the purchase was within one year, they let me return the unit and gave me full credit towards the next unit.....Cant beat that service.Chad

As a 10+ year Commercial Pro Customer, they have always been a valued vendor and my #1 vendor this year. The only complaint i have is the double billing when placing an online order (in-store is fine). A pre and post authorization for an order could tie up double funds for over a week before they release the pre. Try placing a $5k order. That can hurt! And absolutely nothing can be done but wait... None of my other vendors hold funds like that. Yes they do pre and post but its like immediate, not both active at the same time! But i love the products n service and Pro pricing i get.

They are so helpful one of the best places to get parts.
