Where to start with this. Before I begin, I worked for South Florida Mobile Auto Repair as the Lead Heavy Diesel and Truck Technician for over 2 years, and have over 10 years of experience in the Automotive repair field. So my Great Aunt Claire has a 2007 Buick Lucerne with a 4.6L. The instrument cluster stopped working, a typical GM issue. More than likely had to be sent out. She takes it in on September 20th (Im in Florida shes in Rhode Island) already more than likely knowing the issue. So she took it in and they had no clue what the issue was until i talked to the freaking service writer. Finally after 2 full days of diagnosis, which by Identifix, which 90% of all shops have, with diagnosis trees, they couldnt figure it out. So she takes it home. They finally get the new part that didnt fix it. So after a month and over 500$ to release the vehicle with the issue not fixed. Today i had a mobile mechanic look at the vehicle and the cluster is STILL bad. I wouldnt even call this place an automotive repair shop. They are hacks plain and simple.

After learning that my 2020 VW Atlas needs special oil/filter for an oil change from Jiffy Lube and a very high price, I stopped in here. Rich was very informative and courteous. He explained what was different and how Midas can help. I got a quote, made an appointment and showed up. Sean and another gentleman worked with me today and they were both just as courteous, informative and respectful. My car was serviced at the quoted price, and on time! No hassles, no problems.This may have been my first time to Midas but it will not be my last.

The service here was incredible. My boyfriend called ahead to see if an appointment was needed. Sean said to come on down.As soon as we got there, Sean welcomed us and started the paperwork right away and told us he will call for pricing.When he called he gave me a quote for my brakes, rotors and brake sensor. Price was very reasonable. I also requested to check my engine light. He gave me a quote for that which is standard price as other places. I gave him the ok to repair.Few hours later he called to tell me that there was a misfire on cylinder 3. The tech checked the spark plug and coil and everything was fine. They were able to clear the code. Test drove it and no light came on. Yay!!! Sean only charged me half for the diagnostic since they did have to check and able to clear code. I felt that was fair.Overall i am very happy with customer service. My car is running smooth.I will return for future repairs. My MINI Roadster thanks you!! 💕

Great experience all around. The management and technicians were friendly, professional, efficient and performed an excellent job. Fast and reliable service. Even for state inspection

I came in to get my car inspected, anticipating brake work needed to be done. It took them 3 hours to inspect my car and they charged me an extra $30 just to tell me exactly what brake work I needed done in order to pass inspection. $400 quote just to get rear rotors changed - got them done elsewhere for $240. On top of that, not a single mechanic was wearing a mask when inside of customers’ cars, and the majority of staff in the waiting area did not have masks on or wore them incorrectly. Overall just pretty displeased with my experience.Edit to add a response to their response: after further looking into it, I was given a $415 estimate that included work that I did not ask for.

Do not go here to get your car inspected. They will charge you when (not if) they fail it. I had initially gone to another inspection station who said I needed two new back tires, which I replaced. Stopped at Midas after new tires were put on since it was on my way home and more convenient. They failed my car saying I needed my front tires replaced as well and a new light. I then proceeded to go back to the initial inspection station where my car passed inspection with no problems, front tires fine and no mention of a light out...

Forget about this place. They will fail your inspection for one blown out parking light, and want $$$ to change it. When I pointed out that the charge was unreasonable, they said,fine. I will fail you. And make me waste my time coming back again. I can understand if its something serious but for a parking light that can easily be fix afterward. Come on. Give me a break. It does not cost them anything for that small gesture. When it comes to customer loyalty, a little goes a long way. I will not be returning.Response from customer:In the State of Rhode Island any parking bulb that is out is a fail- Pay Midas at North Providence $$$ to change your light bulb, or they make you waste your time. They are a dime a dozen. Nothing special. Feel free to shop around. Hope this helps.

0/10 review. 3 days after they did services to my car, my car that is well kept and has never had issues, now is not driveable and there are so many electrical issues. I paid a lot of money for Mida’s to help keep my car up to date and now my car is useless. Do NOT go to Mida’s unless you want them to screw up your car. Worst $185 I ever spent.

These guys are always willing to help in a pinch. They will get you in right away and guarantee all work. Quick and reliable. They have good mechanics and customer service. They have even helped with a ride there or home a couple of times over the last few years. This MIDAS rocks! I just received yet another stellar service today for 4 new tires.

While temporarily residing in Pawtucket, the brothers car needed brake attention. I took it to this location, and I am very satisfied with the overall experience.

I went in for a simple oil change & left with no oil pan, ruined tires & a $500 bill. Do not go here.

Super friendly employees right off the bat, which was always a plus. I received honest and detailed explanations of what I needed repaired and was given an option of whether or not they do the work so I know whats going on with my car. Ill definitely be returning next time my car needs some love.

They are okay. I have stopped in here and there over the last 6 years or so. They are professional people and do a good job but some parts can be a little over market value.

19.99 oil change with tire rotation with coupon. They were very thorough and checked the breaks and all. Even showed my the pads so I could see they were getting low, but not low enough where they had to be changed. Honesty in full bloom. I like that.

Not a great service. I was told one price and then charged a higher price than I was previously told on the phone. The owner or manager was not pleasant. The guy that assist me and gave me the initial price was nice. Not that impressed with their service.

Removed my studs for my exhaust for me on a short notice, and drained and re charged my ac for me on a short notice right before closing time. Dealt with Nick and he was very knowledgeable and explained any misconceptions I had and pointed me in the right direction. Friendly place and the labor is reasonable.

We always get our oil changes here and they are quick, thorough and friendly. Last week after a road trip brought in my car as it was smoking sounding rough etc.. They put it on lift and showed me all the transmission fluid coating underneath. They had opportunity to make it an expensive repair. Just replaced a clamp and washed under car. Had me come back and recheck, all good! Very pleased.

This place is the best shop in town honest reliable service Rick the service manager is knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Jon the tech/adviser is very good too. The owner Joe the owner is always there and available giving you the reassurance that it is a good old fashioned small business where the customer comes first and the staff will do anything to make sure that all you needs and expectations are met in a timely fashion. Service all my cars here because it is hard to find an auto repair shop with the customer service and piece of mind that all the employees at Midas in north providence provide.

Rick was great! He helped diagnose and fix an issue with my air filter (in under 15 minutes) and didnt even charge me. They also have pretty good rates on oil changes too.

AMAZING service. I was in a super rush to get to an engagement party and both my rear tires needed to be replaced (like the tread was coming off so much you could see the metal). All 3 guys worked super fast to get it done so that I could get to the party in time!!! I would highly recommend them!

I was hesitant to go to Midas as I had a bad experience years ago with another location. Out of necessity, I took my car to this location and was quite pleased. They were friendly, courteous, fair priced (I had researched what was possibly wrong with my car and how much it would cost prior to my visit), and efficient. I have since been back and recommend them.

I called from Federal Hill to make sure they had the item i wanted, i was told that yes, it was in stock, guess What? After all the driving i was told they did not have that item. Hellllo!

Rick Quicrico at Midas helped me through the problems with my car very nicely and told me in detail what the problems were. You can count on him for mostly anything new with your car and he also showed where to get the best fixes at the best price. Will come again very soon for my next car related problem.

Good and highly experienced automobile experts

I have been going to this location for about 2 years now and have always treated me fairly. I always deal with Rick, who is one of the managers. Long story short, car had a major issue making the car not drivable and Rick took care of us. We ran for an extension on my credit line which was approved, so they did the work the car that immediate Monday from the issue diagnosed on Saturday. Go to pay and had issues with the bank who somehow didnt give approval when Rick had documentation that it did. The bank messed up, and Rick was on the phone as was I at work trying to resolve the whole mess. Thanks to his efforts, the credit was restored and car was fixed. I will continue to go there while he is there.

Great customer service! Had an issue with an exhaust i was trying to install and called for help. they helped finish the job, and also caught another a major bake leak. Will def be returning for normal maintenance.

My appointment for an oil change was originally scheduled for 4:30pm. Because of traffic, I arrived closer to 5pm, and the shop closed at 5:30pm. Despite me being late, I not only received the oil change, but they rotated my tires and performed the same services that are performed for all other oil changes. They were very accommodating!

Everyone in this town loves to have their secret hook-ups. Of course I would find my best one 2 days before I move to North Providence. So Im driving around getting everything ready for my move, when the rear of my 05 scion xb starts smoking like crazy, and quickly the car starts stuttering. This is how I learned that it is possible to put too much oil in your car. I call the Toyota dealership, they offer little help, but tell me I should get the car towed to them. My insurance company calls Stateline Tow. The driver for Stateline tow shows up and the first question he asks me is Are you rich? While my dirty scion is pretty cool looking, especially with the back seat full of boxes and kitchen equipment, the question confuses me. Rich?, I respond,no why? Then why do you want to tow to the dealership? he asks. I shrug. In all the time Ive spent in SF, Ive never found a good repair shop, mostly because I barely maintain my car. The driver suggests Midas Of North Providence. So at this point, Im pretty stressed. I was supposed to start work tomorrow in Providence, and here I am with a smoking car. We show up at Midas Of North Providence, and these guys quickly start assuaging my fears. Not because they were smooth talkers or anything, these guys were just honest, hard-workers. An oil change, new spark plugs and an air filter I requested all pretty cheap. They even showed me how to replace the blown out indicator bulb myself. Had a runin with a huge pile of snow during the snowstorms on the highway and severely damaged my entire muffler and exhaust system. I initially got some quotes from the dealer (yikes) and a few other mechanics shops. The prices I was quoted were pretty steep and high. Car was still drivable so I decided to wait and still shop around some more. Well after a month the car started making a loud nasty noise and I smelled burning/melting metal. This is when things got real. I looked up Midas in my area and this one came up, the reviews were very good so I gave them a call. I was greeted by a friendly welcoming voice, very unusual for a mechanic place who told me to come and he will get me on the lift to see the issues.I drove there immediately and within 15 minutes by car was on the lift and the price I was quoted to make this unpleasantness go away was excellent! I could not believe it. I was told the repair would take approximately 45 minutes which was completed in just about that time, which is also very unusual for a mechanic shop. Normally you go into these places and waste half your day.Place is well maintained, and there is also free coffee if you want. Not dunkin donuts of course! j/kI will no doubt be returning here for whatever I need done in the future. I pass this place at least a few times a week, If I knew its there I would come here to begin with.Keep it up!!!

Went there for inspection. I was told that the exhaustion system has to be repaired which will cost 200 (or 300) USD. The brake needs further inspection the fee is 30 USD. If the inspection showed anything, it has to be repaired too. I just passed inspection in Massachusetts 20 days ago. I was told my a staff the standard of Mass and RI is different. I went to a different place and passed whole inspection. the 2nd place told me that my brake was going to fail and needs repair in a few months.

Worst experience I have ever had at a Midas. Took them 2 hours to change our oil with only two cars, one being ours, being serviced at the time. Tried to charge us $500 for a bogus, unnecessary fix. When I asked the owner for his information he cursed at me and told me he was going to call the cops if I didnt leave. Horrible owner, horrible customer service, would not recommend to anyone.

Over priced rip off..thay will tell you your hole break system needs to be replaced, calipers, roters, break pads, over 800 dollers..I took it to a local mom and pop garage up the street, thay resurfaced the roters,and replaced the pads,280 dollers later and my car is stopping on a dime...be carfull of the big chain garages, I dont know why thay try to charge so much and replace thing that dont need to be replaced. Thay trying to pay for there big overhead,and also try scare tactics, your going to loose your breaks,and we only deal with the best break parts if you go somewhere else there going to cut corners and put you and your family in danger. O no thay sound like thay care so much, well if you do then give me a discount. I hope this helped

I called and asked how much for synthetic oil change I was told 59.99When I got there they told me it was 95.99 And that the packages start at 59.99. I said I wanted to 59.99 package and I was told that I couldn’t get that package that my car needed a certain package when I know for a fact it doesn’t. Waste of my time went out of my way to go there for an oil change for nothing. Rip off!

BEWARE!!!!! BIG WARNING!!! I went to this Midas for a car state inspection. There was nothing wrong with my car. I had an appointment for 4 o’clock I sat in the waiting room until they took my keys at 4:45. They then drove my car down the street and came back 15 minutes later. I waited about half an hour before they came into the waiting room to tell me that my car needed work. I received a printed out estimate of a $1,340 bill. I looked at the list which contained such things as a front end alignment (had this done 3 months prior when I got all 4 new tires), right and left caliper, and diagnostic test. When I asked about these items the man became irritated. I asked what the right and left caliper was. He said it appears that my right caliper “might” be leaking. I then asked why is the left caliper on the list. He said we recommend you get them replaced in pairs. I then left the garage my car smelled of cigarette smoke (I don’t smoke) and went directly to another garage. They inspected my vehicle and passed it in less than 15 minutes.
