It was a great experience at this dealership. Maria and Mike helped out in making the whole process hassle free. Guess what I spent 1 hour at dealership to take the delivery. Paperwork was all set in my file and I just had to sign it. In the past I have spent 3.5 to 4 hours at the dealership. This was a great experience. Kudos to online sales associates.
My wife and I recently purchased our first car and we had a great experience! We read the reviews and decided to make an appointment at Subaru North Reading. The inventory of used cars is the best in the area, and we were able to find a car (2016 Crosstrek) with everything we wanted! Maria (our saleswoman) was incredibly patient with us throughout the day - since it was our first time buying a car, we had many questions, all of which were answered kindly. We never felt like we needed to buy a car that day or were pressured in any way, yet we also felt that Maria was entirely dedicated to us and finding us a car that suited our budget and wishlist. She did a fantastic job, and has reached out since our purchase just to check in on us!! When it was time to talk about finances, Steve was excellent. He has a remarkable ability to communicate every detail of the finance package clearly, and was fully engaged in explaining each option with us while also not pressuring us to spend more. Additionally, the interest rate he was able to get us was unbeatable, especially considering my wife and I are both graduate students who have good credit yet thousands in loans. Even so, we were able to get 3.84% which was remarkable. Overall, we had a wonderful experience purchasing our first car, and we will be taking our car there for servicing throughout because of the 5-star service we received from Maria, Steve, and the staff we met there!
I have always been a fan of Subaru. However, definitely not this dealership location. This is what happened to me. I came in the dealership in May 2021 and tried to purchased an external white-colored premium crosstrek 2021. I have to give customer service credit to them because sale professionals were really nice. I was able to negotiate the price I want for the new vehicle. I put down my $500 security deposit for this vehicle and they said the vehicle was in transit and needed a few days to arrive. So, I went back home and a few day passed. I started feeling strange because North Reading Subaru has not yet contacted me with any updates on the vehicle. So, I called them and I could not believe what I just heard. THEY SOLD IT OUT TO ANOTHER PERSON!. How was it even appropriate to sell a vehicle to another person when I already put down my $500 security deposit and waited a few days with no response from this dealership. I was very disappointed about the level of their business professionalism. I requested a refund for my security deposit and they promised me the refund has been started. Guess what happened next! I waited a month to get my refund. They did not process my refund until I kept calling them for a month after the incident happened. They promised me they would call back to me every time they need to hang up my call. But, the callback from them never happened. This experience has been a joke to me and I still need time to digest their business regulation. I dont need their apology because it means nothing! I would strongly recommend going to other Subaru Dealership location because you do not want the same thing happens to you. THIS DEALER IS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!
At 62, I’ve purchased lots of cars. I love new cars so by 1-2 every 3-5 years. I’ve gotten to hate the process for the most part, but still like new cars. I just purchased a new Crosstrek from North Reading Subaru. This is a tough time to be shopping, what with low inventories and many dealers price gouging. There was none of this with NRS. In fact, it was one of the best, no BS processes I’ve ever been through. Everything from the test drive to the trade-in assessment to the price negotiation (which for me is always a one and done; no back and forth, put your best deal on the table) was superb. The typically dreaded meeting with the business agent/finance guy was just the best. The salesman provided a dealership tour, having my meet the service team. To say I was surprised by the treatment when buying a 32k car is an understatement. These folks are A#1. Check ‘em out.
I would HIGHLY recommend going here for service even if you have a dealership nearer to you. I have interacted with a few Subaru dealers in the area, and this was the best by far (the others were horrible). The person who I worked with was attentive, honest, communicative, and kind. I wish I remembered his name! Mike? Matt? My only complaint is that I had ordered a part that they said they would leave in my car when they did service, but they forgot. I won’t knock off a star for that though, because I forgot about it too until I got home! Unfortunately I moved from the area before I could pick it up so I never was able to get the part. :-(
Recently had a 60,000 mile service performed by this Subaru. Part of that servicing includes checking the wheel bearings. This was very clearly not done because when I took it to another Subaru four days later, both rear wheel bearings had to be replaced. I reached out to North Reading Subaru about this, but no one ever got back to me. Very disappointed overall and will not be returning.
Here’s my final update,So after an acceptable purchase experience with a few bumps along the way, I did have my windshield spontaneously crack two weeks after I received the vehicle. I had a less than amazing experience trying to reach out to the service department about the problem but ultimately ended up just going through my insurance to have the windshield replaced. I was unhappy with the initial experience with the service department, but ultimately did return a couple of months into ownership when I had an engine warning light up here. They’ve been amazingly helpful so far and everyone I’ve dealt with has been pleasant.Acceptable experience with this dealership during purchase. Currently there’s a shortage of new cars at pretty much every dealership so it wasn’t surprising that they didn’t have any on the lot, no other Subaru dealerships in the area did either. Unlike the other dealerships I visited this one would take deposits to hold a new car that was still in transit! Other dealerships wanted full payment before they would reserve a car that was on its way.There was some miscommunication about the port date being the arrival date, so I did get the car approximately two weeks later than I initially expected. The salesman working with me and his manager did apologize for the miscommunication and offer some good will negotiation to make up for it.The entire experience was very low pressure, I was not badgered about warranties or add ons at all!Options were explained and I got ZERO pushback when I said no thank you. (This is the only time I’ve EVER not been met with a pushy sales pitch for the add ons or warranty)The salesman did a good job explaining the features of the car, which are numerous.While I didn’t get any amazing deal or discounts (no one is due to chip shortages and super low inventory so no surprises there)This dealership was no pressure and easy to work with
Service Department tried to pull a fast one on my wife, trying to get her to replace the air filter, cabin filter, and wipers at huge mark ups. Thankfully, she is smarter than that. Beware going in for recalls, as they see that as a great way to grab your money.
Sales people tried to buy my car before showing me any cars. RULE1 RETAIL: lead with the customer! You are leading a scummy practice otherwise.
I recently purchased a car with Julie who took great care of me and saw that all of my questions were answered. The team there made me feel comfortable and gave me a great car for a good in the end.
What a nightmare! We were one of only two parties in the whole dealership, and yet we spent more than 10 minutes waiting for our salesman to finish chatting with all the staff in the manager’s office. After waiting, we were presented a horrendous deal for a Forrester that pales in comparison to other Subaru dealerships. After proving that we’ve received better offers elsewhere, the salesman wanted to take our paper with proof of offers from another dealership but we definitely were not about to let that happen. Stay FAR away from this crooked place.
Every time I have brought my Subaru here to be serviced their team has been efficient and detail oriented, which I cannot say the same for other dealership service centers! They are my go-to and I know I won’t be hassled into spending extra $$ on repairs that are not truly necessary just to make more money off you. Would recommend!
Sales staff gets 5 stars. Service staff unfortunately get 1 star. I will be bringing my car to other Subaru dealerships to have work done on it and Ill leave it at that.

A few weeks ago I went into the Wakefield Subaru and was so frustrated and upset after less then ten minutes with the salesperson that I was going to rule out getting the car I wanted. A friend said I should go to the North Reading Subaru and I cautiously did so expecting more of the same. What a difference!!! I was so pleased with my experience.At North Reading I was helped by Maria, and she took great care to help me find the car I wanted with all the features I was looking for. I never once felt pressured and she did such an amazing job that I traded my old Nissan Rogue in and drove away that Friday in a brand new Forester Premium. Her attention to her customers is remarkable and I have already recommended to a few friends to seek her out when they are ready! Her car knowledge and experience was top quality. Recently purchased a 2018 WRX from Brian; honestly one of the best car buying experiences Ive ever had. They ensured that mechanical and cosmetic problems I was concerned with were taken care of; issues that other dealerships would swiped under the rug with being a preowned. I visited North Reading Subaru after going to Wakefield Subaru. The difference was night and day. There was no pressure to buy a car, they didnt pressure me on how to finance/afford the car, and I felt very comfortable as a customer that I was in control the entire time.

I went to test drive a few cars that were advertised on their website. The staff was very friendly. However, when I made an offer on a car, the salesman spoke to the sales manager then came back to me with a higher price than the car was advertised. He stated the price reflects fair market value. I said but you have it listed for lower on the computer he said but we can sell it for the fair market value and Im offering you the money off. So essentially he was giving me $100.00 off the internet price. I had never in all the years of buying cars, seen this done. I went to another dealer and bought one that same day.
Went for an oil change a few months back at North Reading Subaru and didnt discover that they over tightened my oil drain bolt until service yesterday. The oil drain bolt would not come off using a socket and ratchet by hand and it stripped. A bolt extractor and impact wrench was used to finally remove the oil drain bolt. You can also see in the photo that there were two crush washers used by their service department to seal the bolt. Unfortunately, this is not a mistake that you can check right after service, only during the next service.

The best car buying experience I ever had. My sales consultant was Gene DAlessandro, and he is one great guy! And I mean actually nice, not the fake nice that Ive found at lots of places.The entire process from beginning (when I was welcomed) to end (when I was super-happy and drove off in my 2021 Crosstrek Sport knowing I got an awesome deal) was extraordinary.This place is small and its perfect! It seemed like a small family was there, working and having a nice day. There was ZERO sales pressure and everyone, especially Gene and Stephen Bova, were super patient with all my questions.As an added bonus, they have registry services there to switch or get new plates and get the registration! I was really hesitant about buying another car. Just got home with my new 2020 Outback, the second Subaru I purchased from North Reading Subaru. I worked with Julie Andrews who was wonderful. She is knowledgeable with a full understanding of the products, she is patient, and thorough. This being the second vehicle I purchased from NRS- I am familiar with the staff who welcomes me by name whenever I am in the dealership--they make me feel like family. I loved my old Outback--but was excited to purchase the 2020 model because of the redesign. Great product, fantastic dealership for purchase and service. I can recommend North Reading Subaru with the highest of confidence that your experience will be as pleasant as mine have been.

She gave me some information about the vehicle that I was interested in.It was through and presented very well.Obviously she had done her homework.Fast forward to a road test during which she pointed out all new improvements since my last car. My daughter was looking to buy a new cross track we first went to the dealership closest to us in Wakefield. We looked around for quite a while before we were helped. The gentleman who helped us didn’t feel the urge to talk to my daughter who is buying the car but always to me asking me questions, He did not offer to get the car she wanted exactly She did her research and knew what she wanted. Write down to color interior options. Only offered what was on the lot.We decided to take a ride to North Reading. First contacted with email with josh. and when we went and we were greeted right away by Dave. He was super friendly and willing to listen to my daughter and everything she wanted. Let her test drive the car, not me. They made her feel very comfortable and important. She wanted to buy the car, And they told her it could be ready the next day she was sad she was looking forward to taking at home that day. They were able to make it happen even though it was already late in the day. They went above and beyond in making her feel comfortable and explaining the process. There was absolutely no pressure for her to decide that day. When she made an offer and told them what she wanted they were very close to meeting her. They exceeded our expectations in service and price. And she got the exact car she wanted.Izzy the The financial manager did a wonderful job with her and explaining the process also. Made her feel very comfortable and her decisions and did not pressure her to purchase 1 million other things. But did offer, and she extended a few with negotiations.So although she has to drive a little further to get the car she wanted she is extremely happy and absolutely loves her new car. Went with North Reading Subaru, because of all the no-pressure dealership reviews here. It was different than any other dealership I have been to in 20 years.Isabel was perfect and it wasnt just no pressure, it was no haggle. After a quick test drive I asked their price, only because I had an overly fair price written in my pocket from a couple days of research. She was actually within a hundred dollars of it. Bought the car on the spot and was actually out of there in under an hour. It was literally amazing!!!!

I highly recommend you ask for her. When talking with Julie its so comfortable its like you already knew her. She will take great care of you, including help you decide between two cars as she did my wife and I. She will take care of you throughout the entire process.Julie reflects the dealership. Very professional, friendly, and low key. Everyone helpful from other salespeople, business manager, service, and the owner. By far the easiest car shopping experience a person can have, don’t even waste your time anywhere else. As brief as I can put it, personable, knowledgeable, absolutely no pressure or crazy sales tactics. Don’t even bother looking somewhere else for a Subaru, no one can touch them .
A great place to do business with. I had been on the market for a new Subaru. I was well received and put at ease the moment I arrived. Great help from Ryan Redmond and John Walker. No gimmicks or slimy sales behavior. They were honest, welcoming, and fun. They have a genuine comcern for you. I knew that I would leave buying a car from them even if it was not what I originally was looking for. But they worked with me until we got a deal.

I worked with Joe C. at North Reading Subaru. He made the shopping experience easy and painless. He listened to what I needed and directed me towards a few cars that would fit those needs. He let me test drive about 4-5 cars (new and used) until i settled on one that I liked, all without the high pressure sales tactic of other dealerships. I had the best experience with Sarah. This was my first time buying a car on my own and she made it stress-free. She is easy to reach and was nice enough to give me her cell number if I had any questions after I left the dealership. Everyone else at the dealership was also super friendly. Im happy I got to work with them.
My Toyota lease was up and I needed to purchase or lease another vehicle right away. I went to North Reading Subaru and was blown away. I was able to negotiate fairly and felt I got their true best offer. There was no haggling and I wasnt forced to sit in a room where someone tries to sell me extra things I didnt ask for. When I sat down with Isabel she asked me straight out what I wanted and needed and my budget. We worked around that and I got everything I needed and only had to forgo a few of the wants- luxury items I really didnt need. I got a great pay plan and left there smiling. I leased a brand new 2018 Subaru Cross trek and it is such a smooth ride. I dont even feel the car accelerating like my old Toyota Corolla. I also really appreciate that its all wheel drive especially for living in New England. One plus I learned after I purchased the car is how far I get on one tank of gas. Almost 500 miles. Im very happy with this place. Ive had most of the maintenance on my outback done here for the past 5 years and theyre terrific. The prices are reasonable and the customer service has been phenomenal - theyve given me loaner cars and driven me to the commuter rail station when necessary. I also like the little customer waiting area they have - I can sit at a desk and do work on their guest wifi. I probably get more done there than in the office. 10/10.
Had a fine buying experience or so we thought. they had the car we wanted. I am now sitting waiting for my first oil change and tire rotation. I know for a fact that I negotiated for service, because we had a long back and fourth about the necessity of snow tires on an all wheel drive car. I wanted 2 tire change overs, and 1 oil change a year included. When I went in for service, no dice they showed me paperwork, which looked shady at best. I think I was told sure, then when the signing frenzy began we were not as diligent, or they faked paperwork. Either way I’m not buying another car here.
In my search for a new car I visited many dealerships and by far the best customer service was provided by North Reading Subaru. I had great difficulty choosing a car in which I could comfortably drive and Isabel Nelson, the sales consultant, could not have been more helpful, patient, knowledgeable, informative, and considerate of my needs. The rest of the staff was very helpful and patient with me as well. I would recommend this dealership highly.
When I lived in Massachusetts, this was the Subaru that I brought my car too for regular maintenance (oil changes, tire changes, repairs). They able to handle all the issues that came up with my car....quickly and reasonably priced. They also never pressured me into getting repairs that I didnt need. I would recommend them to others. The only thing I did not like about them; compared to other Subaru locations, was that sometimes it took longer than I wanted to get my car in.......However the wait was worth it....as they did a better job than others locations. (I suppose they have a longer wait because they offer the best product).
I went in for a recall. The notice said it would take 30 minutes and it did. Their appointment schedule was easy to navigate and a representative called me back on the same day to confirm what service I needed and set an appointment. Their automated reminder service was helpful too.
