I took my wifes car to 146A Auto Repair as we encountered an issue when trying to put gas in the car (the pump would constantly turn off). Don was very professional and took the time to explain to us what his findings were. In fact, he was able to diagnose the problem very quickly and found that the issue was one of two parts. He suggested that we start with the cheaper of the two repairs. This has fixed the problem for us without any other issues. Don even followed up with us proactively to see if the problem was fully resolved. Many other repair shops would have simply charged more and replaced both parts. I appreciate that he took the time to explain what he found and presented options to us. It is nice to have a mechanic that you trust and know will be transparent with you and simply fix your vehicle. Don is focused on customer service and maintaining a loyal customer base rather than making a quick buck.

146A was recommended to me by a longtime family friend and I couldn’t be more happy I started to go to Don. He does great work and you get your car back quickly as well. He’s also great about working with warranty companies to have costs covered. I’d much rather go to Don than deal with dealership mechanic shops. Please use 146A and you won’t be disappointed. And if your a car guy, Don is too. He’s always willing to talk about cars. Plus, the office staff is great as well. Overall, an A plus experience.

I have been going to Rt. 146A Auto Repair for 20 years. Don is great at diagnosing issues and has always been able to repair and stand behind his work.

Had my vehicle towed 2 miles from dealership to this repair shop for diagnostic on the engine failure, once given a price decided not to move forward, so they charged me $175 tow fee for 2 miles, then I was harassed for two days to get it off their lot or would be charged storage, they had my vehicle for 2 days, very rude people and unprofessional.

I was forrunate enough to be referred to Don at Rt 146A several years ago and I only wish it was sooner. The peace of mind of knowing my vehicles are in Dons hands is invaluable. He is honest, accurate and work is always exceptional.

As a parent I sent my youngest son to go get an oil change for his car they are very rude to him from what I understand on top of that they patch the tire that he did not give permission to patch so I told him to leave a bad review that’s everyone’s right to voice their opinion they called back yelling at him for leaving a bad comment these people are not professional do not go here

Brought my truck in for diagnostics. Check engine and ABS. Took two days, thats fine, everyones busy. But I called a few times to ask if they were able to find out the issue and I kept getting their working on it. They two days get a call that its all fixed. Whats fixed? You didnt tell me what was wrong with it, what was defective, what needed to be repaired. Nope. Just did the repair without any conversation. $341 later my check engine light is gone, for now, but when did I clear repairs when I brought it in for a diagnosis? I just find that unprofessional and makes me reluctant to bring it there again. Next time Ill end up with a randon new transmission! If you want correspondence and transparency from someone who is going to charge you hundreds or thousands or dollars.....you best go somewhere else.

Terrible customer service, and just rude because he “closes at 5pm” and I arrived there at 4:55pm. But Online they say they close at 5:30pm. I get there to pick up my motorcycle. And he charges me an extra $20 to open the gate where my motorcycle was located because he closes at 5 and I should’ve came sooner. But closes the gate before 5??? Change the hours online, and if you’re having a bad day don’t take it out on a customer. I wasn’t rude when i got there. So not sure what the owners problem was but he needs to fix it.

Don is excellent and very trustworthy!Made sure to contact me on anything major money wise, replacing only what was really needed. He wont waste your time or money! Im very pleased with a complete motor swap+ all essential repairs needed.

So I dont usually write bad reviews, but this place SCREWED me when I bought my car. I bought a used 06 Prius and was told that a NEW hybrid battery was put in, and that theyre expensive ($3k) but last 12 years. About a week ago, 2 years and 40k miles later, my new hybrid battery gave out on the highway. When we took it to a shop, the guy who looked at it informed us that one of the cells in the battery had died, and that this was common for refurbished batteries. So not only was I unaware that a refurbished hybrid battery had actually been put in, but he also said that it looked like at least 2 or 3 people had it before me. Its going to be $1,500 for another refurbished battery, or $3,000 for a brand new one, so at thispoint I might as well just buy another car rather than spend $3k I dont have to fix the car you sold me. Be careful when you buy used cars yall, even shops and dealers will give you fake information to sell you stuff!

Good mechanic but not a man of his word. Cant trust what he says so it negates his knowledge and craftsmanship. Would recommend going elsewhere.
