Ive been bringing my car to Merlin for several years. Unfortunately Ive had a number of different issues in the last couple of months. Glad I have a place like Merlin to go to. Ive always found them to be honest and reliable.Ive never felt like I am having an unnecessary service pushed on me. They will tell you what work is urgent, and what work you could possibly wait on. Steve also gives great detailed explanations regarding what he found, what work they need to do, and why they need to do it. He goes above and beyond to research pricing and quality of the parts he is putting into your vehicle.We will continue to bring our cars back and hope they are around for a long time to come.

They are great place to get your care serviced at I was in and out in under 20 minutes for a oil change. I will continue to come here for others services

I moved a few towns away from Oak Forest about five years ago, but I still come back to this Merlins location, because of how excellent their service has always been to me and my family for many years. I recently had a brakes issue; the dealership service dept. wouldnt even give me an appointment for over a week, so I called Merlins. Linda got me an appointment for first thing the next morning and was very accommodating about letting me drop the car off early. When the car had been checked out, she called me promptly and carefully explained everything that was wrong. She was very upfront about what had to be repaired now and what could reasonably wait (no pressure, just the information I needed). The repairs were done quickly and the cost was reasonable.

After my local dealer told me I needed rear brakes and gave me a range of $400 - $800, I decided to go to Merlins based on other reviews. They replaced my rear brakes and did the work quickly for a fair price.They seem to be very honest. They could have told me that my front pads needed to be replaced and I wouldnt have questioned them. However, they told me that I still had 40% life on those pads and didnt need to worry about them. They also did a complete inspection of the car and told me that nothing needed to be addressed. It was nice that they didnt try to sell unnecessary extra repairs.They called me with a price on the brakes, gave me a discount on the job and did the work that afternoon. On top of all of this, theyre a family run business and nice people. Ill definitely use them again.

Merlin was able to accommodate me with a free inspection as I made a reservation to get the vehicle looked at. They not only printed out the extent of my estimate they physically showed me the front end damage I was dealing with. Impeccable customer service by kindly showing me the under carriage of the vehicle in the body shop revealing what they found and letting me know what my options are. Highly recommend using this auto service for any vehicle needs.

Im from out of state and my Roadtrek 190 van broke down with an alternator problem. I called a few other places first and they said that they couldnt even see my van for a few days. Luckily I called Merlins. Linda answered the phone and was the friendliest and most knowledgeable person that Ive even encountered over the phone when calling for automotive service. After getting the VIN number, she even ordered up and had the alternator waiting to expedite things. She also dropped me off and picked me up as I had local business to attend to.While I was away from the shop, she called me up to apprise me of what was going on with my van and kept me fully informed of everything. When I got back, Steve had finished everything and he even replaced my wiper blades that were shot (unbeknownst to me), changed the oil, topped off all of my fluids (my transmission fluid was low again unbeknownst to me), checked my tires and he even fixed my arm rest that was loose all complimentary as part of their OUTSTANDING service. And to top it all off, the price was way less than I had anticipated it being and it even included a loyalty discount.I wish that Linda and Steve would move their shop to NJ so I would have an HONEST, friendly, reliable and convenient Auto service center near me. It was truly the best auto repair experience that I ever had especially considering the stressful situation of being 1000 miles from home.It was like having family take care of my van for me. They processed a tire repair claim same day within a half hour and they werent even the originating location. The originating location closed and they helped make sure I was taken care of.

Steve & Linda are the absolute best, theyve been taking care of the familys vehicles for decades.I dont even live in Oak Forest anymore, we moved to Oak Lawn but I still make it a point to come here. How far would YOU drive for honest mechanics you trust implicitly?They do quality work in a timely manner. If you call for an appointment theyre honest about if theyre busy and you might be better off another day rather than just telling everyone to come in and having you wait forever.They dont do anything superfluously, if they tell you somethings a problem they mean it. Theyll also tell you if somethings starting to get to that point but not urgent quite yet, like hey this component is probably gonna be fine for a few more months or whatever but its starting to show its age, so you may wanna consider replacing it within the next oil change or two.If youve got a lot of things that need work, theyll give you a helpful list of procedures and help you prioritize what needs doing most urgently so you can get right in installments. Couldnt recommend more highly.

The electric throttle control light came on and that controls the acceleration so I had to have that looked at or I cant drive.I came in and Linda brought my car right in took a look at it. Gave me an estimate, I left my car for repairs and one of her staff took me home so I can get another car and go to work. Outstanding service, i will come back!!!!!

We have been taking our vehicles there for years. Linda and Steve are the nicest people. I trust them completely and have been very satisfied with everything that they have done! They have gone above and beyond for us over the years. We always recommend them.

Been coming here for about 6 years should have probably said something earlier but this is a fantastic place they know their customers well did a great job I had an issue today I had surgery and my car wont start Linda said she can take care of it right now I was in and out of there within an hour and a half thats the kind of service they give fantastic as set to Oak Forest

I have been very pleased with the service I received at this shop in the past, so I stopped by to have my brakes inspected. Steve discovered a minor issue due to a defective part he’d installed 7 months ago and replaced it as quickly as he could free of charge, even going so far as to paint a caliper to match the others on my vehicle. I don’t think I could ask for a better service experience. Steve and Linda are the most honest, responsive car service professionals I’ve ever encountered.

This is the second time I have been here, both times were for exhaust work. The owner is an amazing well informed and caring guy, who will tell u straight to the point whats wrong with your car and the options to resolving those issues. The only place I will go to have work done to my car.

I have been going there for almost 18+ yrs and they have always gone over and above.I live in Chicago South Loop by the lake and travel all the way to Oak Forest 25+ miles just to go to this Merlins Steve and Linda are knowledgeable, fair in their pricing and always courteous and respectful.

Very nice people, however very poor work! I spent almost $500 (including 2 new tire install) and still have the same problem I started with! The owner was very articulate in explaining how basically it wasnt their fault. And that the problem could be something else. I took my car to the guy who normally fixes my car (which is what i should have done art first!) and he knew right away what my problem was, while this place told me they had to RESEARCH THE PROBLEM😐. Now i have to repay for the same service!!! I feel like i was low key scammed, And wouldnt recommend this place unless you just wanna meet some nice people.

I read the reviews before I went . I made an appointment online on Sunday . In my opinion they definitely rate 5 stars. I believe they are very honest people and do exactly what needs to be done to your car at a reasonable price they will definitely have a returning customer with me.
